Tiktok videos are intermittently failing to download audio. I am using deno and the most up to date versions of everything. Choosing a different country via VPN does not effect the issue. I am including three output logs. One where the audio failed to download, one where the audio downloaded and one where I attempted to download only audio and the output requested I post the log here. So here you go. I'm not a programmer so please let me know if I've missed something.

Run your yt-dlp command with -vU flag added (yt-dlp -vU <your command line>)
If using API, add 'verbose': True to YoutubeDL params instead

Looks like #15891 except without cookies

This is a serious issue that has been ongoing for many months, it needs to be fixed ASAP. People need to download videos from TikTok normally like they used to without the frustration and time theft caused by TikTok

Also I don't have issue with Seal Android app which is based on yt-dlp too.

i also have no audio channel on some TikTok videos, but not all of them. Example video with the problem: https://www.tiktok.com/@nelliomolnar/video/7669787946278472982

It seems like download is finishing normally, no "warning" or "error" came up. Using the latest yt-dlp nightly@2026.08.04.234419 , not even using a .conf file, or extra arguments, so that can't be the issue.

It seems that all of the affected formats have a CDN URL path ending with /media-video-hvc1/. I've not observed any format URLs with audio that match this pattern. So, yt-dlp could at least detect the missing audio for these formats. It also appears that an mp3 audio format is available for most/all of these videos, which could be extracted.
