Usage of cachePath in a Blocky docker deployment with bind mount results in:
cannot create temp cache file in /cache, serving without caching error=open /cache/dl-4060565016.tmp: permission denied
While it was not a problem until cachePath was introduced, it seems the underlying problem is that blocky is running as user 100.
There are several solutions to this problem, like (random order):
- changing ownership of the cache path to user 100
- adding user instruction to the docker run command
-u "$(id -u):$(id -g)"
- adding user instruction to the docker compose
user: "${UID}:${GID}", or user: "1000:1000" # depending on the filesystem permissions
- usage of named volumes
IMHO at least a note requiring filesystem permissions handling should be mentioned..
