Non-traditional Christmas Tree

Christine is the host of this week's Winter Wonderland challenge and she has chosen 'Non-traditional Christmas Colours' as the theme.  This month we are sponsored by Crafts are Me who are offering £10.00 to spend in their store

For my card I have used a lovely Penny Black tree stamp and have chosen Purple and Turquoise as my colours - definitely non-traditional!  I am also entering this card into the ABC Christmas Challenge  'J for Jewels', the Christmas Card Challenges 'Anything Goes' and Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where 'Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas'.

Card blank: 7" x 7" white silk
Stamp: Penny Black 'Snowlight'
Embossing: Stampendous clear embossing powder
Ink: Versafine Imperial Purple
Card: Turquoise matt, white silk
Paper: Turquoise
Other: Turqoise gems

I stamped and embossed the tree on white silk card.  This was trimmed, layered onto turquoise card and attached to the card front.  I stamped the tree trunk and star onto turquoise paper, fussy cut them and attached them to the image.  To finish, I added gems to the tree.

Summer Flowers

This card was made for the Penny Black 'Summer Flowers' challenge and I used the sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I'm also entering the Seize the Birthday 'Anything Goes' challenge.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamps: Penny Black 'Awakening', Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Die: Memory Box 'Wicker Panel'
Punch: Woodware square
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Colouring: Faber-Castell pencils
Card: Green and white moondust card

I die-cut a wicker panel and attached it to the bottom of the card using Spray Mount.  The image was stamped onto white card and I added a hint of colour with the coloured pencils.   This was trimmed to size, layered onto green card and attached to the card front with foam tape.   The sentiment was stamped onto white card, trimmed to a strip and I used a square punch to make the fish tail - this was then attached to the card with foam tape.

Cinnamon Birthday

I made this card for a teenager's birthday using the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.   The stamp is Penny Black's 'Cinnamon' which I bought last year and never used, so it's perfect to link to Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I'm also linking to the current Seize the Birthday challenge where 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 7" x 5" white silk
Stamps: Penny Black 'Cinnamon' and Hobby Art 'General Greetings'
Punches: Woodware corner rounder, Woodware regular and mini hearts
Ink: Memento Black Onyx
Paper: Pink/blue stripe paper
Colouring: Promarkers

I covered the front of the card with striped paper.  The image was stamped onto white card, trimmed to size, the left corners were rounded and coloured with Promarkers.  This was then attached to the card front.   I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card, trimmed the left edge, layered it onto a strip of paper before attaching it to the card with foam tape.  I punched a white mini heart, layered it onto a regular heart punched from striped paper and attached it to the card front.

To Your Wishes!

I made 12 Christmas cards last month, so time to start making this month's cards.   This card was made for the current 52 Christmas Card Throwdown which is to 'Pick a Previous Sketch' and I used the sketch from April 2013.  I'm also entering this month's Christmas Cards All Year Round challenge which is 'Red and White'.   The paper and card are from my snippets drawer, so I'm off to the playground at Pixie's Crafty Workshop,

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Stamp: Penny Black 'To Your Wishes!'
Punch: Woodware Crafty Edger and 'Ribbon Border' cassette
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Colouring: Promarkers
Other: Wink of Stella, Stampendous 'Cotton Ball White' fun flock, red nailheads
Snippets: Red mirri card, white silk card and paper

I used the Ribbon Border cassette on the long edge of a piece of red mirri card and trimmed it to fit the left side of the card blank.  A snippet of red patterned paper was layered onto the mirri and this was then attached to the card.   The image was stamped onto white card and coloured with Promarkers.  This was trimmed, layered onto red mirri card and attached to the card following the sketch.  Three red nailheads were attached under the image.   To finish, I added a Wink of Stella to the champagne and belt and fun flock to the hat.
