New Baby

I was so pleased when my 'Rustic Christmas' card was the winner at the CAS on Friday 'Christmas' challenge and I was invited to be Guest Designer on their 'Baby' challenge.  This is the first time I've used this 'new to me' baby die too!

To make this card I used:
     5" x 5" white hammer card blank
Tonic Studios 'New Baby' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Square STAX Die-namics' dies
Snippets of white hammer card and pale blue pearlescent card

I used a snippet of white hammer card to die cut a stitched square.  I then die cut 'New Baby' from the centre of the panel, setting the die cut aside.  The panel was layered onto a slightly larger square of pale blue pearlescent card before being attached to the card blank.  I die cut 'New Baby' from pale blue pearlescent card and inlaid it into the panel together with the small pieces from the white die cut.

I am entering the following challenges:
Christmas (or not) BINGO Challenge - Challenge 14 (I have used Line G - Square Card Base, Sentiment as the Focus & Frame)
Love to Craft - Anything Goes
Love to Scrap - Anything Goes
NBUS - Challenge 77 (my new die)
Simply Clean & Simple - Anything CAS Goes

Just a Note

I've not had much time for crafting this week as we've spent time setting up a new laptop as our old one had 'died' on us - we've also been getting ready to go away in Martha tomorrow.  I did have time today to make this quick notecard using a new (to me) die I've recently purchased.

To make this card I used:
     5.5" x 4.25" cream matt card blank
Tonic Studios 'Treble Clef' and My Favorite Things 'Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX Die'namics' dies
     Clearly Besotted 'Fancy Sayings' stamp
     Versafine Vintage Sepia ink
     Snippet of dark brown card

I used the die to emboss a rectangle in the front of the card blank and placed the card into my MISTI.  I die cut the Treble Clef from a snippet of dark brown card and laid it inside the embossed rectangle so I could see where to stamp 'Just a Note'.  I removed the die cut and stamped the sentiment several times to get a good depth of colour to match the die cut.  I then used Artist Tac to attach the Treble Clef inside the frame.

I am entering the following challenges:
     Allsorts - Anything Goes
     Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge - M for Monochrome
     Less is More - Music
NBUS - Challenge 55 (my new Tonic Studios die)

Branwen Briar

This week Darnell's NBUS challenge has the optional theme of 'Use Bubble Wrap' and I chose to use my NBUS 'Branwen Briar' die.  My first challenge was then to find some bubble wrap and my second was to photograph the card without having an image of me in the metallic circle! I'm also entering A Gem of a Challenge 'Add a Butterfly', Die Cut Divas 'Use Red or Pink' and Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge 'Anything Goes'.

Card blank: 6" x 6" white silk
Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities ' Classic Scalloped Circles Large' Tonic Studios 'Branwen Briar', Tattered Lace 'Mini Sentiment'
Embossing: Kars tan embossing mat
Ink: Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid
Card: Cerise metallic
Other: Bubble wrap

I inked the bubble wrap with the Orchid ink pad and stamped it onto white card.  I trimmed the square, layered it onto cerise metallic card and attached it to the card blank.  I die cut and embossed a cerise scalloped circle and attached it to the centre.  The Branwen Briar, mini butterfly and sentiment were die cut from white card and attached to the scalloped circle.
