British Channel 5 has sent us the first images from their new four part explosive twisty thriller mini television series THE IMPOSTER which will air in four consecutive weekdays from Monday December 15th till Thursday December 18th as their new Australian original. 
  WHAT IS THE STORY OF THE SERIES?
A sprawling seaside hotel sits at the heart of a dispute between matriarch Helen (Jackie Woodburne with the ugliest hairdo I have seen in a long time) and her three adult children, Simon (Don Hany), Kate (Jane Harber) and Ian (Jackson Gallagher). The kids want to sell to take  advantage of a lucrative deal from a buyer, but Helen is against the lucrative deal, despite her ailing health. But Helen also has a secret – an older child, Amanda (Kym Marsh), who she gave up for adoption in the UK before the other kids were born. When Amanda turns up out of the blue, Helen embraces her, believing she is the answer to her problems. But Amanda is actually an imposter, out to dupe Helen – in a plot that will lead to murder. SEE BEN LAWSON AND DANIEL HENSHALL IN TRAILER FOR STAN'S NEW MOVING SERIES DEAR LIFE

The series  starts January 1st on Stan
Australian streamer Stan has released a trailer for their new series DEAR LIFE (previously known as Love Divided by Eleven) which will be available for streaming from January 1st launching the New Year! Brooke Satchwell leads the drama as Lillian Vandenberg, a woman struggling after the death of her fiancé who finds comfort in seeking out the recipients of his organs, triggering a tangled chain of connection. 
 
  AFTER ASH
 a doctor, is attacked by an ice addict, his fiancée Lillian turns off his life support. Months later, Lillian is still reeling in the aftermath of her fiancée’s death when she receives a letter from a man crushed by a motorbike, thanking her for his new heart. Suddenly, Lillian feels better. And she wants more of that feeling. She wants to know more about the people that were able to live. Our dear Ben Lawson also stars in the six part series alongside another of our Australian faves Daniel Henshall. NEW PERIOD SET SHOWS FROM AUSTRALIA: FLORENCE ON THEIR FAMOUS FASHION DESIGNER FLORENCE BROADHURST AND GRAND DAYS SET IN POST WAR AUSTRALIA

Screen Australia has announced some new period set series that they will fund including FLORENCE a six episode series based on the true life story of the iconic and enigmatic designer Florence Broadhurst. It unpacks the life of a woman who irrevocably changed the style of Australia. When Florence was brutally murdered in her celebrated wallpaper studio at age 78, the shocking crime led to a mystery that remains unsolved today. 
 
 GRAND DAYS PERIOD SET TV SERIES
There is also a six episode series GRAND DAYS from writer Emily Balou, an extraordinary love story set against the rise and fall of the League of Nations and the hopeful vision of post-war Australia! No broadcasters announced yet for either series.

If you liked Top End Wedding movie six years ago you will be happy to hear it is getting a sequel but in the form of an eight part series TOP END BUB 
The series starts September 12th
set to launch on Prime Video September 12th with our dearest Gwilym Lee in the lead role. If you remember he and Miranda Tapsell played a couple trying to get married in the movie. 
 
 NOW IN THE SERIES Lauren and Ned are living their best life in the city, which is tragically interrupted when Lauren’s sister Ronelle dies in a car crash in the Top End. Rushing back to Darwin, Lauren and Ned are thrown into the chaos of Top End life with Lauren’s parents, Daffy and Trevor, and confronted with another curveball when they unexpectedly become the guardians of Ronelle’s lively and cheeky young daughter, Taya. In the whole slate of new series in production over at Channel 5 announced last month, there was also IMPOSTER, a four part series set in sunny Australia, where a splashy seaside hotel becomes the centre of a bitter family dispute when matriarch Helen refuses to sell, despite pressure from her three adult children. But what her children don't know is that Helen has a daughter who she gave up for adoption decades ago, and when Amanda suddenly appears, Helen welcomes her into the family with open arms – but is Amanda who she says she is? Joining now Kym Marsh and Jackie Woodburne in the leads is Dannii Minogue

Australian Foxtel and streamer Binge have released a trailer for the third season of their THE TWELVE series with Sam Neill in the lead role as a prosecutor with a new case and twelve new jury members in each season. 
 
 Out August 4th, new season titled THE TWELVE: CAPE ROCK KILLER is unlike any other as things get personal for Brett Colby (Sam Neill) after he is thrust into a murder trial to defend the husband of a life-long friend accused of a heinous murder. As the trial unravels a deeper mystery, a 1968 cold case murder of two teens is re-opened, and the twelve jurors sworn in for the trial find their own lives changed by the experience. Ewen Leslie leads the jury with Danielle Cormack also in the cast. The eight episode series also airs on BBC in UK.

NETFLIX ANNOUNCES PRODUCTION AND CAST FOR MY BRILLIANT CAREER PERIOD SET TV SERIES FROM AUSTRALIA

Netflix has commenced shooting of their new Australian period set original series MY BRILLIANT CAREER based on Miles Franklin's classic. In the late 19th Century, Australia, a strong and ambitious young woman named Sybylla Melvyn (Phillippa Northeast) is coming of age 
Alexander England and Philippa Northeast will star in  the series
amidst her family’s financial struggles. After multiple disagreements with her mother, Sybylla is offered the chance to move to the Caddagat estate, where Mrs. Bossier (Anna Chancellor) takes her under her wing to “refine” Sybylla and prepare her for marriage. Eager to move, it’s not long before Sybylla falls in love with life at Caddagat, where she meets Harold Beecham, the owner of
Jake Dunn and Anna Chancellor will also star in the series
 the neighboring estate, and thus the courtship begins. Much to Sybylla’s dismay, her family’s financial troubles force her to travel to Barney’s Gap, where she is to be the governess of the M’Swat household. Christopher Chung, Genevieve O'Reilly, Kate Mulvany, Jake Dunn, Alexander England, Miah Madden will also star.

When he returns home 15 years later with his own family, the past comes back to haunt him and the tight-knit community when a young woman is murdered. The community is desperate for answers and they are forced to uncover the mysteries that continue to haunt and daunt them all those years on.

Our dear Australian star Ben Lawson also stars as her husband.

follows the passionate teenage romance of Daniel and Alison, and is as packed with emotion as it is with beloved pop hits from the 80s. Having met in their hometown of Sheffield in 1989, the pair fall hard and fast. Although this one premiered in Australia long time ago, it is getting limited cinematic release in United States May 23rd after visiting numerous festivals around the world written and directed by Warwick Thornton. Set in 1940s Australia THE NEW BOY is the story of a nine-year-old Aboriginal orphan boy (Aswan Reid) who arrives in the dead of night at a remote monastery run by a renegade nun (Cate Blanchett), where his presence disturbs the delicately-balanced world in this story of spiritual struggle and the cost of survival. BBC has sent us the first trailer for the second season of their period set series TEN POUND POMS which sees the return of Michelle Keegan as nurse Kate Thorne, and Faye Marsay and Warren Brown as Annie and Terry. The series will return March 9th to BBC airing on Sunday evenings and will also stream on Stan at some point in Australia. As Kate, Annie and Terry settle into their new lives, they each struggle to reconcile their hopes for the life they were promised with the harsh realities they face at Galgownie. We will also be introduced to the Skinner family, who arrive in Australia from Ireland ready to enjoy their new lives in the sunshine, plus unscrupulous landlord Benny Bates, who makes Terry an offer he can’t refuse as he attempts to put down roots for his family.

I have to admit I originally wasn't attracted to this one probably because I did not find the cast overly interesting, but then I've seen a couple of very

engaging clips from it and will probably give it a chance. INVISIBLE BOYS is a small screen adaptation of a book by Holden Sheppard which will premiere on Australian streamer Stan February 13th depicting the challenges of teens in the remote town of Geraldton in Western Australia following the 2017 same-sex marriage plebiscite. It focuses on finding friendships, solace and understanding on what makes them 'invisible'.  
 
THE STORY OF THE TEN EPISODE SERIES
Set against the backdrop of Australia’s 2017 same-sex marriage plebiscite, INVISIBLE BOYS explores the challenges faced by a group of gay teens in the remote coastal town of Geraldton, Western Australia after one of them is outed on social media following an encounter with a married man. As they form a tight-knit friendship, the boys find solace and support in one another, exploring their desires and identities in a world that often renders them invisible.   EIGHT PART SERIES 
follows three families in a tight-knit coastal community who find their marriages, friendships and futures put to the test. It's the end of an era, and everything is about to change. Set in 1979 Western Australia, with a global beauty pageant contest creating a media frenzy and a power strike that threatens to plunge the region into darkness, history is at a turning point. But that’s nothing compared to the drama these seemingly ordinary families are enduring, in a town which will never be the same: American space station Skylab crash lands on earth just outside the city, as the city is gearing up to host the Miss Universe pageant.
 
 WHO IS IN THE CAST?
Radha Mitchell and Jesse Spencer lead the cast as wife and husband, Judy and Tony Bissett. Deborah Mailman and Linh-Dan Pham are their neighbours Eileen Wilberforce and Sandy Bui.
