Warlords Public Beta: First Wave

8L3CZir.png

Edit: Second Wave (No tweet requirement) starts in 15 minutes! Check the server browser for a countdown!

Click the following link to become part of the first wave of Warlords public testers by getting a passcode!

If you have a first wave passcode, type /redeem YOURCODE on the server. You will then be able to join Warlords via the compass!

1.8 and above is the minimum required for Warlords, but we strongly encourage you to use 1.8.1 and above

Within ~24 Hours the passcode requirement will be removed, we want to reward the most Hyped players with access first! Show your support for the server by helping to build the hype on the game via Twitter!

We will post another news post when the First Wave is over and you don't need to participate in the Hype Train to get the beta passcode, for now we wish to control the amount of players that are in the Beta so that we can handle bugs and testing effectively.

We may terminate the first wave passcodes at any point without warning if we feel there are too many players testing the game.

We hope you enjoy the game! Please report bugs & feedback in the Warlords Forum!

Thank you for helping us to test!

Warlords Upcoming Beta Information

Warlords Upcoming Beta Information

SrFWu0e.png

Good News everyone! The Warlords Beta is coming this weekend (either Saturday or Sunday)

Many of you have questions, so we'd like to answer some.

How do we get into the beta?
Non-donor and Donor alike will be able to test Warlords! At the start of the Beta you will need a special passcode to get into the game lobby. You must prove yourself worthy and hyped for the new game mode by earning your invite.

We'll post instructions on how to do this as soon as the Public Beta goes live. It won't be too difficult to be one of the first into the public beta!

Once you do that you will then be automatically given a special access password that will let you in before anyone else.

After a period of time, we will no longer require the special passcode to enter the Beta. We want to reward the Hype Train passengers with testing first however.

Will our progress carry over?
While we reserve the right to reset everyone's progress in the event of a major bug, we are intending to allow you to carry over your progress - including weapon unlocks, stats and class unlocks.

Please note those who test the game BEFORE the public beta will have everything wiped(such as the limited testing that will happen tonight), sorry guys!

Show us something cool NoxyD?
Click any of these 3 links for a 3D preview of a weapon that you can see in your browser

Elven Greatsword Browser Preview (Epic)
Venomstrike Browser Preview (Rare)
Orc Axe Browser Preview (Common)

How can we help test the game?
Zumulus, the main designer of the game will be around all during the beta using our new Livebalancing technology. This new technique means that balance changes to Warlords can be done without the need for a programmer or any reboots. Expect things to change a lot, and without notice! We will also be gathering all sorts of data, so even if an admin isn't in your game - be rest assured we are watching.

What is Warlords?
Check out the following video from Teaser #10

This teaser trailer will explain some of the work that has gone into the game, but really it's so much more than the Weapon pack. At Hypixel we always pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries of what we previously thought possible. While it's easy to point at the weapon pack and go "AMG Hype Train!!!" there's so much more that you guys haven't seen yet.

Skill Effects, Sounds, Flag Capturing, Respawn Mechanics, Custom Horse Controls, Livebalancing, Classes and Specs, The Weapon Skin System, The Helm Unlocking, The Gravestone, The Hall of Weapons. The Animations, the 59 Page Design Document, The Textures, The Models, The Lobby, The Parkour, The Daily Quests, Working Alongside Sphax and Xael to name some of the notably cool things about this game.

Warlords is a product of our desire as a team to be the best - and to give you guys the best. You guys are the ones who push us so, and provide us with the ability to make this our jobs. I hope the hard work of many people shine through, and I hope you enjoy.

Next stop on the Hype Train: Public Beta Station.

The wait is almost over.

VampireZ Patch

VampireZ Update: Here comes Trouble!
Welcome to the ‘Here comes Trouble!’ update for VampireZ. This update introduces a number of new perks, frightening new effects, disguises, zombies in pink pants and… an exploding cat named Trouble!

Gameplay Changes
  • Holy Books now gives gold and coins. A 20% chance of getting a gold and a coin when someone affected by the book kills a zombie or a Vampire
  • Zombies now spawn with more items. (to fix the loot drop perk - further explanation below)
  • Zombie ‘de-spawn’ between rounds is now randomized (don’t count on the round change to save you from a room full of zombies any more)
  • Scare effects between rounds - new ones have been added
  • “Most Vampires Killed in Single Game” is now a tracked stat
  • Additional coins based on number of Survivors alive and end of the game
  • Loot Chest mob spawner particles added to chest until it is emptied
  • Trouble the Exploding cat added to Loot chest (full explanation below)

Zombies now spawn more items!

The existing ‘Loot drop’ perk has been an issue of concern as it just doesn’t seem to be as effective as it should be. When investigating this perk I found that this wasn’t caused by any problem with the perk, but a problem with the zombies. Most of the zombies in the game spawn with only a leather cap. So when you kill one and get the loot drop, it drops a random item from the zombie - this means in most cases you get nothing and occasionally you get a leather cap. The best way we could find to fix this perk was to provide the zombies with more of an array of items which they could drop. I incremented the amount of items on the zombies to match up with the waves - so in later rounds zombies will have more and better armor and items in hand. The downside of this is that zombies will be harder to kill as they now have more armor... but, the upside means that the loot drop abilities will be a lot of fun. I also added an alert message to let you know when the loot drop perk has worked and a zombie has dropped an item. I highly suggest those who have already made the investment be generous with the drop and share some items with your fellow survivors… remember, you are all in this together.

Trouble, the exploding grey cat!

Desperate times call for desperate measures… and we never really like that cat anyways. You can use the egg to spawn Trouble, who will promptly run away, causing all near by zombies to chase her. After a short period of time Trouble will detonate, killing nearby zombies, Vampires AND SURVIVORS! If you are going to let the cat out of the bag - make sure you open a door.

New Vampire Perks
  • Terror Level - a chance of startling a survivor when hitting them from behind.
  • Renfield - increases your chance of starting the game as a Vampire, if you pick that option.
Terror Level!

This perk gives the vampires a % chance of startling the survivor when you attack them from behind. A startled survivor will have the item currently in their hand swapped with another slot in their hot bar.

New Survivor Perks
  • Theology - affects the amount of gold the holder of a Holy Book gets.
  • Transfusion - converts a percentage of gold to coins at the end of the game
  • Van Helsing - increases your chance of starting the game as a survivor, if you pick that option.
  • Constitution - a chance of negating the Vampires Terror level ‘startle’ effect
  • Foresight - a communal chance of spawning a second loot chest!
Foresight!

A communal perk which provides a chance of a second loot chest spawning on the map. The perk level of all the survivors is added up at the start of the game and used to provide a chance of a the extra chest spawning. A new message will be displayed to let everyone know when this happens.

Cosmetic Disguises
  • Skeleton (VIP+)
  • Enderman (VIP+)
Bug Fixes
  • 1.8 issue with some vampires not being able to break glass blocks.
  • Leaves will no longer decay and produce saplings
  • Jumping on crops will no longer break them.
  • Fixed the wave spawn messages to not indicate specific wave - to avoid confusion with display of current round
  • Fixed final wave message to indicate the last wave correctly
  • EXP bar now indicates game round instead of which zombie wave - to avoid confusion
Edit by NoxyD: This post originally contained a mistake which indicated that two team selection perks were tied to the MVP rank or higher. This was not intended to be the case and a hotfix is coming shortly to amend the issue.

UHC Champions Patch

Hey guys, we have a short (and sweet) UHC patch to add new features (as well as some commands) and squash some bugs you've helped to report.

New Features
  • Solo now allows spectating using the compass. Limited to 30 blocks from the player you're spectating.
  • You can now convert Arcade coins into UHC coins (with a ratio of 10:1).
  • You now have Fire Resistance for the initial grace period (or until you enter the Nether.)
New Commands
  • View a player’s health with /health (username), useful if you can’t find them in tab.
  • You can clear an item’s custom name with /clearitemname.
Fixes
  • Coloring in the tab menu sometimes didn’t apply for Spectators.
  • Spectators no longer get teleported back to spawn without reason.
  • UHC Champions icon in the Game Menu now properly enchants.
  • FPS improvements by reducing excessive particles for the 1.7 World Border
As always, report those bugs and keep the suggestions coming.
Now, go play!
