We went on an overnight on Sunday. Andrew, our son, had gotten a nights stay at a resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for Christmas. This is the third time
he has done this, and all have been wonderful. This one was no exception. We stayed at "Seven Oaks", advertised as a Boutique Bed and Breakfast. We had a cute little cottage. Andrew had arranged for wine and cheese for the evening, and breakfast in the morning was part of the package. They bring you the breakfast. It was fruit, rolls, cold cereal, juice, yogurt. Very tasty and filling. Could make coffee in our cottage, so it was perfect.
We had lunch and dinner in two cool restaurants on Sunday. and drove around the lake to do
a bit of sight seeing.
Lake Geneva is a pretty big lake. Rich people from, Chicago, Milwaukee built big mansions for summer homes around the lake back in the old days.. There are a lot of huge beautiful homes. Property around the lake is very expensive, half a million on up is normal for the area. One thing we noticed this time is how many properties had tennis courts on them.
I think tennis was a popular sport among the genteel of the 1920's.

| Ron is relaxing in the little dining nook. |
| I took the time to finish up another Row by Row block to my growing quilt. |
| A little wine, crackers and cheese to snack on. |
| Here is what our little cottage looks like! |
Check out this stained glass dome. It was above us in the Sprecher's Restaurant and Pub. It was amazing. I kept looking at it during our dinner. |
| Sunset over Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. |
This the outside of the restaurant where the stained glass dome is housed. I tried to find out more information about the dome, but so far, nothing. |
One of the boats that give tours around the lake. There are boats that also circle the lake and deliver mail. |
| We drove over to Williams Bay, which is on Lake Geneva. Another pretty little community. |
Coots by the hundreds were on the lake on Sunday. If you look in the background, there is an example of what houses look like. |
| Spring is beginning to blossom there too. |
| Again, you can see some of the houses surrounding the lake. |
Yerkes Observatory, is one of the drawing cards to Williams Bay. Quoting, "This is one of two places in America on Albert Einstein's bucket list during his tour to America in the 1920's. Yerks Observatory has been home to some major astronomical research, and houses the world's largest refracting telescope." |

While we were driving around the countryside, we came across a quilt barn. What a lovely surprise. |
On our drive after dinner, we came across some deer enjoying the evening.
They did not seem to mind us watching them.
The weather was nice, sunny with a sprinkling of clouds, about low 40's.
Monday morning, we were woke up with the prospect of another lovely day and our in cottage breakfast. It was a lovely carefree drive home.
Hope you have a lovely carefree day.
