Ranked from 26 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
An asteroid hit the planet, and everything went weird. But our main character knows how to solve it. So she has to risk her life in order to retrieve all the documents, which contain valuable information on how people can revert everything back to normal. And she gets a raise after, yippe! Though, it suits by lore, not really by the gameplay, I think.
Anyways, that's first game I ever made so I hope it'll work fine, thank tou!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All the assets and code was made from scratch during jam. Except the backround, which is credited on the game page.

How many people worked on the game?

Congrats on your first game! Keep at it

Nice first game, congrats! I like the artwork and lore. Having floating people make you fly into orbit rather than traditional spikes that just make you lose is so cool and creative! And terrifying now that I think about it.

Some advice since you want to keep working on it:

- Generally don't mix pixel art resolutions. While each individual asset looks nice, they look incoherent when put together at different resolutions.

- Give the player some room for error without punishing them. For example, hitboxes should be smaller; allow jumping for a few frames after moving of a ledge (coyote time). Stuff like that is in every game and just makes it feel more fair, the player usually doesn't notice even it.

- "Control" nodes in Godot have a "mouse_filter" property that needs to be set to "Ignore" when it shouldn't interact with mouse input, otherwise it will block mouse input for, say, a button in the game-won-menu underneath it.

- The title screen and the menu screens are not centered on the resolution I played it at. If that is unintentional, you need to look into Godot's anchor system.

Great job for a first game, be proud of yourself!

Developer

Your feedback is incredibly useful! Thank you very much.

-Totally agree with art resolution, won't repeat that mistake again xD.

-Btw I did add coyote jump and it really made huge difference when I was testing it, I'm glad I added it. I might just slightly increase the timer in case the current time is not enough, I will look into that. Also agree on making it less punishing since some people mentioned they sometimes had a hard time with enemy collisions.

-I think that because my game over and win menus are Canvas Layers, they dont have this setting, so I'll try making them children of Control node to see if it helps.

-And I've just fixed my menu, It wasn't properly centered because I couldn't press left buttons of main menu, so I tried your advise and made my Center Container node a child of Control node and now everything is alighned and works! You're saint, thank you!

I'm happy to see such sweet and helpful people, it motivates so much.

Cool game! Had to retry a few times to win HAHA Keep up the good work!!

Thanks! I feel you lol, because I've been losing this game too, as a developer fjsdjdsfj xD

Yaaay thank you!! :3

Really cool! The assets are really really well done and the gameplay is simple but enjoyable. Can't say I didn't tried using a floating guy as a platform 😁

Everything went weird for sure.  Really good for a first game.  Graphics fit the game play.  Music was good too.  There were some oddities that I ran into.  When jumping left, it seemed to move faster than it was going. It seemed like it was due to the background moving faster than it should.  The floaters making you essentially instantly lose seems a bit harsh.  Overall a solid first game!

Thank you for your feedback! I'll try to make colliding with floaters less punishing. Oh and backround might need some fixing for sure :D

I might play it again to give some more feedback.  It was specifically jumping left onto the lowest moving platform.  I don't think anything is moving faster than it should.  I think it just visually gives that impression.

This is impressive for your first game made in 7 days. The guy that makes you float upwards made me think of the Wario Land series, where getting hit by enemies can also be beneficial. Maybe getting hit by an anomaly that changes gravity on you could work similarly by letting you get to otherwise unreachable places. If you want to continue working on this game, that could be a direction for you to consider.

I also noticed that your parallax background is kind of inverted. The foreground should actually appear to be moving more relative to the camera, and the further away a plane is supposed to be, the more stationary it should appear to the PoV.

Keep it up!

Developer

That's a great idea! I'll try coming up with ways to make this anti-gravity thing somehow benefitial.
I also felt like my parallax seemed a bit off, so I'll change the scale later on. Thank you for your advise!

The game is clean and enjoyable! :D I love the artwork—it’s beautiful, and the worldbuilding is really fun.

I’ve played a few times and noticed a small issue: the win screen UI doesn’t seem to work. The Restart and Quit Game buttons don’t respond when clicked.

Good job! Congrats. :)

Developer

Thanks! I'm still trying to figure out how to fix winning menu, but I assume that it might be overlapping with hidden game over menu. I'll try to find a solution to that. I'm glad that you enjoyed the game and my art, thank you so much :3

The game is very hard but fun! I liked the visuals. It feels like a 2D version of those climbing games that have been popular recently, nice take on it! Well done!

Thank you!

Wow, fantastic first game! Huge congrats on achieving so much on your own in just one week! I noticed you even added moving platforms—never tried Godot myself, but if it’s anything like Unity, I know how much fun those are to program, haha.

The movement already feels good, though it could be polished a bit further (for example, variable jump height depending on how long you hold space, or falling slightly faster than jumping up). In platformers, the key is engaging movement combined with obstacles that highlight it—and you’re definitely on the right track.

Also, big props for the visuals, and I love that your mom helped with the music—that’s awesome! XD

Congrats again!

Developer

Aweee thank you so much! I totally agree with a variable jump! I'll add it for sure. I've recently started playing Hollow Knight, and once I replayed my game again, I really felt like it lacks this feature.

Also yeah, I did have a trouble with moving platforms, but I assume in godot it might be slightly easier to implement them hehe.  Once again, thank you for such huge review, I really apreciate it! :D

the pixel art is impressive and the idea is very nice, it needs polishing and more gameplay but for a solo first jam this is quite good!

Submitted(+1)

Pretty cool, with a little bit more polishing like character animations and more levels and you would have a great game. Good job!

Really nice pixel artwork for your thumbnail and in game ! The game is a bit short but fun to play and the idea behind it is nice. Well done game, congrats ;)

For a first game, this is really solid! I really like the pixel art, especially the girl on the cover art

Fun! Controls are good and the level was solid, took me a while to understand that gravity wasn't reversed for part of the level but that I just kept touching one of the floating fellows.

Developer

Thanks! I'll make sure to make it more clear on why gravity changes.

Pretty good. I did find some type of collision error. Touched the first flying guy  and flew into one of the bigger blocks. It softlocked the game. But otherwise good

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! Yeah, I should definitely fix that, I found out about this problem way too late so I just crossed my fingers in hope that nobody will bump into that issue lol.

Great work for a first game! Tight controls and a funny premise (i laughed when I first hit a floaty dude and got the floaty fever myself). So used to dying by falling in games, that dying by floating feels fresh and fun.

Music was also kick-ass!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much! I'm really happy to know that the floaty thing made you laugh, I'll make sure to make it work better hehehsh.

Also I'm glad you enjoyed the music, my mom worked hard on it <3
