How does the game fit the theme?
It's based on the board-game "Risk", but themed around cookies and it's ingredients
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All credits in game description. Basically I didn't make audio, dice illustrations and a piece of code for placing troops randomly in the regions.

The game is surprisingly well balanced from what I've seen, the gameplay is interesting. It lacks some variety probably but for a jam entry it's pretty good. Congrats!

Great submission. I was surprised by the random events and that each faction had different maximum rolls. I think those are great ideas. The music is very fitting for the game and I found it decently challenging. I think that the random scorpions appearing in territories I already had conquered happened a bit too often, but either way this is a great submission to the jam
Thanks! I wanted to actually make it so that all regions can be lost under some circumstances but I couldn't balance it 😅, for example for the desert you can prevent that from happening by having at least 3 units in each tile
This was a great rendition of a board game. Everything was pretty well made! I had an issue where clicking didn't do anything until I went back and chose the action again, but otherwise everything else was smooth!

Great job on putting together a game like this. I love strategy game and playing risk haha so I really enjoyed it.
Since I love strategy and board games, I found it amazing! The mechanics are nice and the sprites are good as well! However, it may become hard to play sometimes because you might lose over and over -which happened to me- but overall, it is awesome!

Well done! Interesting idea with events, which force you to change the strategy, but randomness is so cruel there - i've send several times 3 cookies on one tile with a wolf, but all three time he has thrown equal or more to my dices trowns and win due to rules of games. I'd recommend to change balance some maybe, where amount of units will be more meaningful.
Idea was to balance it out a bit with the biome synergies, so conquering the desert will give you an edge by allowing to win ties and conquering all of the swamp would grant +1 dice, I tried to indirectly balance progression towards going desert->swamp->beach->mountain->vulkan, but I wasn't able to play test and properly balance that 😅
Ha, then it'll fun for you to know - my last unconquered region was the desert. I hadn't put cookies on all tiles of the desert in the start, and to end game there was tiles with 8-9 scorpions, it was quite challenging to fight with 9 scorpions, when their max roll = 6.
This game is amazing, I hope more people get to know it! I love strategy and board games. The random events at the end of each turn add such a special touch, that was the part I found most creative.

Gotta admit, when I started I didn't not expect myself to finish it. I feared it was gonna be just a slog rolling dice.
But the random end-of-turn events and the boni you earn from conquering regions actually kept me hooked till the very end.
I didn't know Total War: Cookies was something I needed in my life before.
I gotta ask though, how did you land on these factions? Cookies vs Squids? What the hell^^
Hahaha I'm glad you enjoyed it! I didn't had the chance to expand on the lore, but the factios are supposed to be for each biome, bread scorpion for flour desert, butterdrile for butter swamp, cocoa kraken for chocolate beach, sugar wolf for sugar mountains and milk phoenix for milk vulcano 😁
I am a huge boardgame fan so when i read "risk the boardgame" i was onboard. The game was simple to understand and the random events kept the game fresh. I love baking me some new units!
The visuals are fitting and the music and soundeffects quite good.
