This feels like a very well balanced game. The art is well-crafted and the audio choice fits the game. The gameplay is fast and responsive, incentivizing risk-taking to stack more score. The game itself isn't that hard, so I'd love to see an expansion with more content!

I love the control! The fact there's no reverse is what creates that thrilling feeling. Also, keep pressing W to move forward , non-stop,  is really exciting! Love your game! ;)

Thank you! Glad you liked it :)

Hi! Fun and vibrant characters! Are those bats? I really dig the name in that case!

I think it could be even more fun if high score would be in some public leaderboard :)

I will consider your thoughts about the online leaderboard.

Good old school vibes here! Good looking art and and vibing music. I’ve enjoyed it!

And here are my few cents:

  • As this is a downloadable game for a jam, you have to put the information about controls into the game. I downloaded the game right from this submission page where there is no information about the controls, launched the game and found my self in a situation where I’m basically don’t know what to do. So I had to get back to the browser, open the game page, check the controls and get back. It takes time and effort, and it may lead to churn of potential players.

  • It’s not clear why do I have to stay on the green gem for 3 seconds. Maybe I was not able to progress enough, but all of them were located in an absolutely safe areas, where the player can’t get a hit from the enemies. This drops the pacing of the game.

  • As this is a downloadable game, there should be at least some way to close the game without actually closing the application in a task manager or from the task bar by opening it’s context menu. Some people may just don’t know how to kill the app and may be highly frustrated.

Woke up today, remembered you game and a simple solution for a control frustration issue came to my mind. While you cannot update the game during the rating period, you can update screenshots. If you will make a screenshot with control hints displayed over it and upload it as the second screenshot, player will be able to familiarize themself with how to interact with the game right on the submission page.

Even something simple like the below solution should work.

Wow, this is a brilliant and super practical idea! Thank you so much for not only giving great feedback but also for thinking of a solution that works within the jam rules. I'm doing this right now. You're awesome!

Hey, thanks so much for playing and for the amazing, detailed feedback! I'm so glad you liked the old-school feel, the art, and the music!

You've made some brilliant observations, and you're 100% right on most of them:

  1. Controls: Putting the controls only on the page was a big mistake. An in-game explanation is essential, I completely forgot that in the final rush of the jam. This is a huge lesson for me.
  2. The Green Gems: Your feedback on the placement of the green gems is especially valuable. It's a great point that the ones you found felt too safe, which hurts the game's pacing. This makes me realize that the difficulty curve might be off, or the truly risky gems are not introduced well enough. Your experience shows that the sense of danger wasn't there, and that's a brilliant insight I will definitely focus on improving. Thank you!
  3. Quit Button: You're right, a player should never feel trapped. I have a quit button in the main menu, but I completely forgot to add a way to pause and exit from the game scene itself. That's a huge oversight and your feedback is brilliant for pointing it out. Thank you!

Thank you again for taking the time, this was super valuable!

Fun game, great graphics. I needed a few tries to get used to the movement, and I tried to press S to go back a few times. Apart from that, super fun. This is the game that has generated the most gambling sensation in me.

I !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice game, easy to learn but hard to master!

Something that might interest you is that at the beginning I was thinking that the booster was located at the front of the spacecraft because of its shape. So I was doing everything mirrored ahah.

I appreciated a lot the risk of taking a green crystal while an enemy is coming towards you
Well done!

Like enemy sprites, post-process effect and lvl design. I'd like if you add a timer for more dynamics.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I'll consider your thoughts.

Thanks for playing.
