How does the game fit the theme?
The goal is to earn money. To do so, the player must platform, then spend money on upgrades to earn even more. Within a short time, upgrades must be used wisely to make more than what was spent — otherwise, the player may finish with less. If they don’t invest, they risk missing out on greater profit. To earn more, they must take risks: every item collected slows them down, testing their platforming skills. The player has to risk it for money.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
The only asset we didn’t make from scratch is the font. Everything else was created by our team during the jam.

Good progress! I like the idea of becoming more clumsy the more stuff you carry.

What did you have in mind regarding accepting or declining the loot?

This was a fun game with good progression!

Really fun loop, I caught myself going for "just one more run" a few times. The progression feels rewarding and the bag filling up visually was a nice touch. Controls could use a bit more smoothing, but overall it’s a solid and addictive entry.

I had lots of fun, though the game would have really good potential, I don't know in which way myself but the concept is great! Anyways you should be proud of yourself! The game is great! :D

Good concept and gives you feeling of progression. Could use some sound feedbacks upon dying.

I feel like this could be a really cool spin on a metroidvania game: you go deeper, but don’t yet have the mechanics to reach certain ores, and each return trip lets you progress faster and explore new areas. It did feel a bit tedious to go back to the vendor over and over again, but that’s an easy fix! Otherwise, really interesting idea, and I love how the bag visually fills up :D

this idea is really similar to steamworld dig (2), you should check it out.

Cool mining game! I love how you placed the tutorial steps exactly where they needed to be! I was looking for the dash btn when I saw the X exactly when I needed it lol. Levels are also good based on the players movement! Nice concept!

Quick Suggestions:

  • The Shop could have a close btn or clicking ESC should close it too
  • When hitting for example spikes the timer could be reduced a bit

Congrats!

I really liked the time suggestion, thank you for the advice!

Nice concept and gameplay! Progress is really smooth it made me play the game for minutes without realizing.

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Love the character and tile designs! The gameplay is really fun. I feel a bit silly because I went almost the entire run without realizing I had to accept the ore I mined… Definitely should’ve read the instructions better LOL. I had a lot of fun!

Developer

The problem was definitely with the UI, so we tried to fix it a bit.  Glad you enjoyed it!

Nice looking characters and tiles!

The gameplay is fun! I feel ashamed that I went through almost my entire first run without realizing I have to accept the ore I mine...I was wondering why I wasn't getting much money from the merchant. I would get 50 coins after mining most of the level I could reach, and I was like...wat??...I guess I was selling whatever I mined last and didn't interact with. I should've known too because my speed wasn't decreasing at all. I probably should've read the instructions better lmao. I had a lot of fun, but my score was abysmal!

The controls felt pretty rough to use - I like the concept overall though

Thank you for feedback!

I liked the mix of mining and platforming, am not a fan of the controls - maybe this calls for a controller or something, dashing while going right is that much more difficult than while going left for example. Also kept forgetting to pick up stuff.

I do love mining games though so had a blast, thanks for making it!

Interesting game, with nice art, interesting music and a good theme. However:

  • The mining at the start of the game is way to slow, making it hard/disinteresting to start the game

  • The movement especially the double jump felt a bit unintuitive

However great job all together!

Nice game for the jam! I liked the visuals, though I think the player movement could be improved. Digging around and finding new things was fun!

I’m glad you had fun!

Really nice concept and the mechanics are well explained even if discarding loot kind of felt counterintuitive and had me stuck until I had to restart to understand I had to press C to collect them, but overall enjoyed playing it, well done!
