How does the game fit the theme?
You swap between a knight and a chicken tethered together with a rope.

The knight can fight enemies and the chicken cannot. Enemies drop xp biscuits when killed which only the chicken can pick up. So you have to risk going for the biscuits in order to get stronger.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Used the Minifantasy asset packs for the art and music

How many people worked on the game?

Very enjoyable game! Thought there could be more vairety in the attacking but i thought the chicken swap mechanic was really unique! Would love to see this idea explored further very ice climbers-esk! Great work <3  *this game was live reviewed here:  twitch.tv/gratefulllyivory (will post vod after stream)

Really enjoyed playing! Good idea and well-made. I perhaps would have liked if dying only reset the wave... Good job overall :)

Nice game! The swapping between the warrior and chicken is very nice :)

Nice game, I like the mechanic you came up with swapping between the chicken and knight making them vulnerable when active, worked out well and played into the theme for sure.

I like it, it's fun. Mechanic is new and interesting and movement feels nice.

It was a bit weird for me that you stop moving when you attack, but I got quickly used to it. The only thing I found which I don't know if it's a bug or just something you forgot to add, or was that intentional, but I was able to dash only left and right with chicken, not up and down.

Nice game, well done and good luck in game jam :D

My only problem with the game is the fact that it is so short

What a fun game, simple but feels good to play. The tethered and swap mechanic can add for variety of challenges and difficulties later down the line, I can already imagine. Great job, keep up the good work!

Cool idea, and on par with the theme! I had really fun playing, and was a little sad when it ended so early. I wanted to do more waves and slay more kinds of enemies :)

I would have liked to be able to move and swing my sword at the same time, but maybe that would have made it too easy? Once I figured out the timing it wasn't that big of an issue anyway.

Well done!

Thanks for playing :) :) Yeh be nice if we had time to make the game last longer it was a tradeoff between having a fully working game or extending it and having more bugs we just ran out of time :p But glad you liked it! :)

An interesting idea and quite a challenging game!

In my opinion, there is a lack of polish for small details (such as enemy spawn or ui)

Loved the tethered mechanic. Very charming and on theme. Great job!

Thanks! :) :)

This was fun! The player getting hit could maybe have a different sound effect than attacking the enemies.

Developer

Yeh definitely, thanks for playing! :)

Good solid concept. Nicely executed, though sometimes I felt the controls were a bit clunky. Overall, I really enjoyed playing it, didn't manage to kill the boss, my knight turned all red and look liked it was frozend and couldn't do anything only the chicken was able to move.

great idea, good realisation!

Thank you! :)

Very fun, albeit short experience :D. If the biscuits that you collect as a chicken timed out and disappeared it would've been way more risky and stressful, might want to take a look at that idea. If you want to make it even riskier, you can make the inactive character a liability by letting them be targeted and be able to take damage. Art is great, music is great and the game fits the theme and is enjoyable. Great work! Really enjoyed it.

Developer

Thanks :) :) Yeh thanks good idea for sure if we had time at the end adding some extra little mechanics would have been nice. Maybe there will be a biscuit pact 2 fully reloaded lol

This was great! Loved the risk of becoming the chicken to level up, and the characters were super cute. I wonder if having a delay when you switch between the chicken and the knight would've added an interesting extra challenge - as it was, dragging the other characters around was hilarious.

Thanks for playing Ben! :) Yeh think we could definitely add a few more things on top of this game we just ran out of time but good idea!
