I mean you weren’t making them for the jam specifically, so that should be okay

My game is browser only, but I haven’t encountered that problem in my topic on rating Windows builds: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-14/topic/5272019/i-will-give-feedback-to-windows-builds-d
Really love the idea, all the debufs+perks work great together, by the way the risk factor definitelly caught me off guard when I had to give up my ear… and even then it really synergizes with a lot of strats, I got lucky on 1st lever pull and I managed to grab myself a VIP ticket… this is seriously one of the better gambling games I’ve seen in this jam. A couple of things I would suggest is making dice colorful, and adding to the combo if you roll the same number multiple times in a row with that dice, as I went with beer on the last round and it was a bit painful to get to 360 with only 3 dice… And also make the buffs stand out from debuffs, VIP and HANGOVER were paired together and I though they were both positive :) But overall a great concept
There were a few tweaks to the assets, but nothing too crazy :P I think GDevelop is perfect for that exact simplistic 2D games, it’s open source and super beginner friendly, although it takes some time to get used to, everything is built-into the engine - Piskel for pixel art and, and jsfxr for simple 8-bit sounds… You can get started to prototyping lots of ideas really fast, I think a whole platformer is possible without writing a single “line of code” -> Which is kinda like Scratch, if you’d like to get technical there’s also an option for JavaScript… And they have also implemented 3D environments, but I haven’t really checked that out
Your game isn’t disqualified as it breaks the rules, but rather because you left a bunch of messages that felt AI generated and it seems like you haven’t even played those games which falls under rating manipulation rules… as not every single game has a story(e.g mine doesn’t have any story whatsoever and it’s relatively short) or graphics, so you’re telling me a bunch of squares are definitelly considered great work on the “graphics” :P) Here’s a part of the comment(s): “We played this game and we think it’s really amazing! Great work on the story, graphics, and everything 👍🎮”
Really interesting approach to the theme, being quite familiar with cmd, it would have been neat to provide a command to change directories, and when providing a hint about password it didn’t come to mind to just guess randomly, as I left the area blank and the hint didn’t pop up, which could have been accounted for… Overall interesting game, and I love that you included the previous/next command cycling with the use of arrow keys :D
Absolutely amazing game, I liked the pacing and introduction of mechanics slowly over time, I just wish that dashing wouldn’t make you slide, and maybe add a bit of height to it (like a 3rd jump) but other than that, the game felt really well polished :D And btw how did you guys make it so that you always see the back of the characther?
I really enjoyed this game, as others have said it feels like it was built for mobile… One suggestion would be to make the enemies have some sort of lasers to their weapons… and maybe a bit of slow-motion on that sectors would be awesome to change the pace a bit, but overall a fun and polished game :D
I like the idea, but it feels like this could have also been a 2D game, like it doesn’t have a reason to be 3D… The enemies were really veriable, and they all complimented each other I feel like the game could have some benefits from checkpoints… and if you’d want to focus on Super-Mario combat system, then having the enemies die whenever you’re mid-air would have been more efficent than having a seperate collision system, maybe it would’ve made the game easier but then you could make cockroaches have that Mario turtle like effect? Overall a fun game, but some deaths really felt undeserved :( And also it would be neat if each game over screen had the enemy that killed you, it was mostly bees or hornets, so having another set/s of screens seems to fit in
