Daisy Bee Bundle by Conie Fong

Hello dear friends.  Spring, my favourite season, is officially here but there are no signs of spring in my neck of the woods.  In fact, there are still some piles of snow everywhere.  Slowly, but surely, the snow is melting.  Both my sons celebrate their birthday this month so April is extra special to me.

My Design Team card today features Conie Fong's adorable Daisy Bee.  What a sweet little bee!  It's available in both PNG and JPG format. And, it comes with a short stem version.

I coloured this sweetie with Copic markers and applied clear Wink of Stella to his/her wings.

If you would like to see more inspiration by the other DT and GDT members, and anyone else who joins in the fun, head over to Conie's Facebook group. And, don't forget to visit Conie's etsy shop where you will find some truly darling and beautiful images.

That's all from me today.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a lovely day.  Lori xx

Snowman and Birdie Friends by Conie Fong

Hi!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  I am definitely not a summer person.  It's been in the high 80's here and very humid.  Mosquitoes and bugs everywhere.  Yuck!  I do, however, love the long days, beautifully coloured flowers, and the lush grass and trees.

The theme for Conie Fong's Facebook challenge this month is "Always Anything Goes" with an option of "Create a Shaker Card".
In addition to the monthly challenge, there is also a monthly Colouring Only challenge.
I made a shaker card a few years ago, so this is only my second one.  Here is my DT inspirational card:

This darling image is"Snowman and Birdie Friends" by Conie, which can be found here:
I used Copic markers and Polychromos pencils to colour this sweet image.  The poinsettia is handmade.  I decided to make some falling snow around the image with Nuvo glitter drops.  The shaker itself is filled with Shaved Ice and tiny snowflakes.  Have a nice weekend.  xx

Moon Glow

Hello, dear peeps!  The current Aurora Wings Challenge is
"Once Upon a Dream or a Nightmare".
It ends tonight (11:55 pm EST).  Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right?  LOL!  I have always loved looking at the sky, whether it be at night or during the day.  I will say, though, that here is something truly magical about the night sky.  I was trying to decide which one of Mitzi's gorgeous images to use for my card.  While looking through my papers, I came across this gorgeous "Moon Glow" image by Hannah Lynn which I had printed out some time ago.  The light went on in my head!  So, here is my card:

This gorgeous image was a freebie but you can also find it in Hannah Lynn's etsy shop here:
I have coloured her with my usual (Copic markers and FC Polychromos pencils).  The flower is handmade.

I wish you a happy weekend!  Lori P xx

Holly Fairy

Hi everybody!

The weather here has been so miserable.  It either rains or it's dark and dreary.  Add the loss of Daylight Savings Time to that and it seems to be dark 24/7.  I'm not sure I know what the sun looks like anymore!  On a brighter note, here is my DT card which I made for Ching-Chou Kuik's current Monthly Facebook Challenge.
This fabulous image is "Holly Fairy" and is found here (along with 3 other beautiful images):

I have coloured her with Copic markers and FC Polychromos pencils.  Her wings are glittered.  The green border was made with Heartfelt Creations' "Delicate Border Basics" die.  The poinsettia was made with the "Tattered Poinsettia" die by Tim Holtz. The pretty leaves are from Heartfelt Creations' "Large Sparkling Poinsettia" stamp.  I fussy cut the leaves.  I love to make my own pinwheel bows.  If anyone is interested in learning how to make them, check out this tutorial:
Ribbon, beads and berries are from my stash.

Have a happy day!  Lori P xx

Lavender Adventure Night

Hello, crafty friends!

Ching-Chou Kuik's monthly Facebook Challenge is going on now.  The theme is "Recycle". https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=oa.1788141307888835&type=3 I just love to alter liquor bottles with interesting shapes.  So, I decided to alter a Frangelico bottle for my DT project.  This bottle is shaped like a friar in his habit.  So cool! This is what I started with:

I applied gesso as a base over the entire bottle and then painted over it with acrylic paint.  Using glittered paper, I cut out 3 die cuts using Tonic Studio's "Star Trail Die".  I applied  Mod Podge (matte finish) over the bottle before applying the die cuts and the image.  The leaves are from La-La Land Crafts "Open Leaf Flourish Die".

The gorgeous image is "Lavender Adventure Night" by Ching-Chou Kuik, found here:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/197620336/lavender-adventure-night-digital-stamp?ref=shop_home_active_14 and also here along with two other beautiful images:   https://www.etsy.com/listing/628948705/intro-price-little-darling-animal-set?ref=shop_home_active_2

A close-up:

Here is what the back looks like:

I coloured the image with Copic markers and FC Polychromos pencils.  The flower is handmade.  Lace, pearl borders, necklace, charms and beads are from my stash.

I wish you a happy day!  Lori P xx
