Explain: One of the funniest stories in history that I heard was Dostoevsky recounting some utopian thinkers among the Russian Aristocracy that wanted to make everything rational, and someone objected saying the peasants would never go for it, so they replied “then we’ll just eliminate the peasants”. As though a society of all rich people would somehow work, even though the peasants did all the work, which is sort of the one thing you actually need for society to operate. The rich people would literally just starve in like two seconds.

People sort of still have the same idea today though, like if we can just eliminate the poor somehow, everyone will be rich and live off the interest from their stocks or whatever, not realizing that stocks only go up because somewhere, someone is actually doing work. Ja jo men vi måste också bromsa ökningen så mkt som möjligt även när den är över. Blir så trött på collapsology när foten fortfarande är på gaspedalen. Som komplement till att försöka stoppa? Ja absolut. Men som “lösning” är det skrämmande optimistiskt. Påminner mig om den där gamla “Tryggare kan ingen vara”–serien där dom försöker skydda sig mot nukes med en lutad dörr.

I’m a huge fan of the new Kwannon version of Psylocke.

One of my fave comics of all time. I got a random second hand copy of Marvels Universum that feature some of the Inferno issues, and later I read the entire run of Daredevil in digital, and then I had the Lone Stranger TPB (kind of a weird, unsatisfying TPB since it starts and end in the middle) and then finally the entire run in paper, old, super bad condition single issues that I’ve read twice so far and probably will many more. Nocenti really does have a lot of bad comics but this and The Seeds are both pure gold.

Covered was a blog from the late 00s where artists would redraw famous comic book covers and they’d be shown side by side.

I never managed to submit anything but I was reading along, I loved it. This one, a cover of Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories 211, was my fave.

Byrne has a lot of great comics but in each of these conflict instances I side with the GOAT Chris Claremont.

The Galactus solution was great by Byrne and built on, rather than invalidated, the original Lilandra story. But making the Doom that faced the X-Men (in that wonderful classic story) a robot!?!
