I don't agree that this is a weak episode at all. It is quite different and interesting with great lines.
It's awesome sering the talent of Christina Applegate doing a great 'impression' of Al, when she turns into her dad after a hard day at her work.
The other gem in this episode is the scene where Jefferson tells the kids he wasn't in Happy Days or the Love Boat, of course Ted McGinley took over roles in both. A great showbiz insider joke of Ted replacing major characters in shows when they leave. I really loved Ted as Jefferson in this I thought he was a much better character than Steve.

I think this deserves a higher score than the last couple of episodes from last season. Everything and everyone in this episode is something amazing it defies words.
So much going on that there's also too much to talk about. And usually there's no more than 2 plots or themes going on at a time. But this one wow! I'll attempt the lowdown of everything... You've got an African dictator played by James Earl Jones doing the most amazing job. (I'm wondering if he got a Emmy award for guest star in this, if not he should have) You've got political duality of what is right or wrong. You've got attacks in the hospital! You've got Cameron and Chase and House - the old team back together. There is still Foreman and Thirteen trying to get along. There's even a horrible, disabled veteran in Wilson's building resembling the temperament of House. On top of all that there's actually comedy as well. It's so totally amazing.

Don't understand the ridiculous low reviews of this episode. I wanted to give this a 10 before even watching it because of the synopsis.
It's not ridiculous, it's a kidnapping and great mystery. McGee gets back to being an author and gets kidnapped for his trouble. Is it an obsessed fan or stolen documents or both? This is one of the best episodes for ages. Always great seeing the cast act out as interesting 'different characters'. This is a fun episode but it's also a great dramatic one with twists! Not quite deep enough for that 10. But does deserve a 9.
