Quijote (y 4)

Y ésta es la última de las cinco páginas que hice en 2005 para el álbum colectivo Lanza en astillero (Ed. Sins entido), adaptando bastante fielmente el capítulo XXVI del Quijote, en el que el hidalgo, enloquecido de amor, vaga en soledad por Sierra Morena haciendo toda clase de tonterías. Elegí este capítulo porque me parece de los más divertidos, pero también por una razón bastante más prosaica, y es que no sale Rocinante y así me ahorraba la siempre engorrosa tarea de dibujar caballos.

This is the last of the 5 pages I did for the collective book Lanza en astillero (Ed. Sins entido, 2005), adapting quite faithfully the chapter XXVI of Don Quixote, where the man, madly in love, wanders alone around Sierra Morena doing all kinds of stupid things. I chose this chapter because I find it quite funny, but also for a more prosaic reason: Rocinante, the horse, doesn't show up in this chapter, so I could skip the always overwhelming task of drawing horses.

También hice esta ilustración para la exposición colectiva de ilustradores Miradas en torno al Quijote, que el Ministerio de Cultura expuso en la Feria Internacional del Libro Infantil y Juvenil de Bolonia de 2005, y de la que se editó catálogo. La titulé "En el camino".

I also did this illustration for a collective exhibition on Don Quixote by spanish illustrators, organized by the Ministry of Culture at the Bologna Book Fair 2005, of which a catalog was published. I titled it "On the road".

En 2005 se celebraron los 400 años de la publicación de El Quijote. Entre otras cosas, hice una portada para la revista Esquitx, aquí os dejo el boceto, el lápiz y el arte final.

The 400th anniversary of the publication of Don Quixote was celebrated in 2005. Among other things I did this cover for the children magazine Esquitx. I leave you here the sketch, the pencil and the final art.
