Your Species Is Disgusting

Wouldn't be surprised if I'm interested in prehistoric S-E-X because it's an excuse to share this number, which didn't hit the conscious mind even after I saw that Homo erectus was a probable partner. Eventually the memory was jogged.

So you sick bastard Homo sap. farm boys will eff anything, even hominin species/breeding groups of which there is no fossil or genetic record. Ick!

For the literate, Science. If, like most Yankees, you can barely read above a sixth-grade level, CNN has a précis for you.

None of this is exactly new, but it is to me. Actually, even before the Kinkster's tune I was interested because F. Clark Howell's Early Man was an eighth-grade textbook.
Even then I knew most of the possibilities of the "adult" world were impossible, but paleoanthropology was not un-interesting.

Self-Diagnosis

The hernia that popped out about four months ago is now what the croaker called "a big hernia". He suggested surgical consultation, but there's no consultation w/o an ultrasound, & the first one I could schedule was 5 December. Three months, if you've lost track. Worst things that could happen? More pain, inability to evacuate & gangrene.

Other crap: Exhaustion & enervation are probably not due to sleeping sickness, as I've no symptoms beyond the inability to remain upright, even in a chair, for more than three hrs., & certainly don't remember being bitten by a tsetse fly.

Depression? The heat? The sheer droning boredom of your awful idiot-filled world?

Dehydration, for which the nurse practitioner actually advised me to consume more salt? (Bought a bag of Fritos® & some cheese dip, as there's almost no protein in me either.)

I also suspect that gravity (Weakest of the four forces.) is increasing, especially in the outside world. Or the atmosphere is denser/heavier, to the point of pressing me down.

250 Yrs. Of Disposable Crap

50 yrs. later, everything is at least 50 times worse.

These are among the items that have shaped the nation.
Here are their stories.

On the United States' 250th birthday, "American Objects" chronicles items that have impacted the culture.
Keep tuning in for tales of new objects as the year unfolds.

One could do worse things on a late-August Sunday than look at some of these objects. Here are three: Comic books. The baseball. Whites-Only signs.

I Told You

I've mentioned that everything's made of shit & we're all dying many times in this space. Try as you will, you can't deny that the open grave, a crematorium or a donation to science await you all. And now, evidence that shit is responsible for everything.

Out Of Uniform

I can't even. You know who the two flanking Gen. Lumpy are supposed to be? Patton & MacArthur, two other fascist wanna-bes w/ delusions of grandeur. Hah! "Mac" looks a bit like Brainworm Kennedy. "Patton" doesn't look like himself. Who makes this slop? Does General No-Hat (Part of the uniform, must be worn outside.) scroll the iNternet looking for it? Does he have flunkies serching for stupid? Will the Dep't. of "WAR" notice & say anything? Can someone be sued for generating a crummy AI image of someone else? I s'pose it's free speech, like an editorial cartoon.
The uniforms themselves may be correct; they're pretty generic, but none of the insignia, ribbons, shoulderboards, ranks or Gen. Lumpy's wings or medal are anything the United States Army has ever used. The things on their lapels, "Patton's" red epaulettes or "MacArthur's" cap device, for example. Not sure why George S. is sporting combat suspenders either. The Daily Bleat adds:
Trump’s fantasy image places him above Patton and MacArthur in the military hierarchy, showing him with four stars while the legendary generals wear two. In reality, MacArthur was a five-star general—one of only five Americans to attain that rank—while Patton was a four-star general.
Not to glorify these two, but here's the actual George Patton, in four-star uniform.
And MacArthur, who smoked a corncob pipe, w/ his five stars.
Note also that both get Fat Boy's jowly chin, but jowlier, in the AI.

Probably Not

Sudden thought while looking at the rolling stock on the flex-track: I could make a yard here.
The space might not work, however, & I'd only have to "invest" a couple of hundred dollars (minimum) in turn-outs,
so nagonna happen.

Seven-twelfths through another horrid yr.; lively yourselves up while you can.
No, I've no idea what the video has to do w/ the song.

Thurs. Track Testing

Still not nearly as irritating, irksome, tedious, banal & annoying as the horrible outside world you damn cretins have made for everyone.

Music For Gandy-Dancing

Non-embeddable films, from 1973 & 1990, of actual singing & dancing. The Wolf took a line (10:12) from the '73 one.
Embeddable.

Hot Rails To Hell ...

... Are Actually Hot!

Spent almost an hr. post-shooting fiddling w/ sectional & flex-track before suspending operations. But one line is almost going & I've proved w/ geometric logic it won't need added feeds.

Other modeling stuff:
Also, at some point you need to decide if you are content being a casual recreationalist or if you want to move to the next level. It’s your call. No judgement. That said, if you want to move forward, you need to get out of your comfort zone, buy that sixty-buck airbrush, and get comfortable with it.
Easy, Lance. Sounds a bit judgemental to me who, picky as I am, fully intend to remain in my "casual recreationalist comfort zone". No desire to obtain an air-brush, but I did click the "sixty-buck airbrush" link out of curiosity, to find it's a) Amazon; b) $199.99, not any "sixty bucks". Ha!
Don't have the space, don't need the noise.
I'll stick w/ washes & powders; my primary interest in weathering is eliminating gloss & shine on rolling stock, not creating1:87 works of art. Avoided a soldering iron so far too, but if the track continues its recalcitrance ...

Orgy Of Consumption Complete*

The TrainWorld tat was there when I woke up, delivered at 1049.
Home Despot divided five items into three deliveries, first sand & the box for fiddly bits (just after 1100) then the alligator clips,
finally, at 1352, the glue & flashlight.
A real damn flashlight (A bright LED that uses three AAAs; almost blinded myself pushing the TRY ME button.) for when I block the light when working, or the dark recesses below.
*For today. Still need ...

Music For Painting Plastic

Has other uses as well.
Not only the version, but the original!
Again, the original. You get it all here! I prefer this arrangement anyway.
The 20-odd ft. of butcher paper used for packing makes a good surface for painting.

Holding Pattern

Definitely have to wait for the flex track."Expected Delivery" is Monday, but the pkg. left PHX suburb Avondale at 0822 today, so my optimistic heart hopes it's already in town & will be at the Nat "King" Cole station in time to be delivered tomorrow. If not, an exciting wknd. of replacing plastic wheelsets & couplers w/ metal ones & adjusting coupler heights.
Auto-focus my ass, SONY.

Even the Catalina is in a holding pattern atop the desk.Minutes later: My stuff arrived at the L.A. Reg. Dist. Ctr. at 1916, so my optimism may not be wrong. Sad when all one's optimism is because one's somewhat wiser than a Postal Service robot.
