Mittens Runs His Mouth:
G.O.P. A Hive Of Scum & Villainry
Sidewalk stencil, La Brea Ave., Aug. 2023. (Yes, they're real. They call themselves scam rap.)
Even people who believe in magic hats & seeing stones can see through these jerkwads. Why can't voters?Mr. Coppins writes that Mr. Romney saw Mr. Gingrich as “a ridiculous blowhard who babbled about America building colonies on the moon.” He also had moral objections to Mr. Gingrich’s admitted adultery. In his journal, Mr. Romney wrote that his wife, Ann, thought that Mr. Gingrich was “a megalomaniac, seriously needing psychiatric attention.”

Nice "Work" If You Can Get It
[A.P.]WASHINGTON (AP) — Charlie Kirk’s $4.75 million Spanish-style estate is tucked away in a gated Arizona country club that charges nearly a half-million dollars for a golf membership. It boasts a guest casita, “resort-style” pool and striking views of the Sonoran Desert. The Make America Great Again political movement has been lucrative for Kirk, the 29-year-old CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization, Turning Point.
The nonprofit rocketed to prominence by latching on to Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and has raised roughly a quarter-billion dollars since, much of it spent cultivating conservative influencers and hosting glitzy events. The organization also enriched Kirk and his allies, according to an Associated Press review of public records, which found top Turning Point officials collected pricey salaries, enjoyed lavish perks and steered at least $15.2 million to companies that they, their friends and associates are affiliated with.
But for all that money, the group has struggled to help Republicans win general elections. That’s particularly true in Turning Point’s adopted home of Arizona, where their slate of deeply conservative candidates in the longtime Republican stronghold lost statewide races last year, among them Kari Lake’s unsuccessful bid for governor.
[...]
“Any donor who thinks an organization needs $108 million for a three-state grassroots get-out-the-vote campaign is being taken advantage of,” said Erick Erickson, a nationally syndicated conservative talk radio host and frequent Trump critic. “It sounds like a grift.”
[...]
In a statement, Turning Point spokesman Andrew Kolvet said none of the group’s leaders have inappropriately benefited from their financial arrangements. If anything, he said, many were underpaid for their talents, including Kirk.
“If the so-called ‘experts’ know what it takes to build successful ballot chasing teams, why are conservatives apparently so bad at it?” Kolvet said. “Why are we getting lapped by progressives in spending and in (get-out-the-vote) operations in key states and counties?”
Turning Point was founded in suburban Chicago in 2012 by Kirk, then 18, and William Montgomery, a tea party activist, to proselytize on college campuses for low taxes and limited government. It was not an immediate success.

De Facto Amendments Made To Dying Piece Of 18th Century Paper
It gets worse. May require using an incognito/in private tab, but worth it.When I step back to look at the legacy of President Donald Trump, a surprising conclusion emerges: He has substantially altered the Constitution. His changes aren’t formal, of course. But his informal amendments are important. If left to stand, they threaten to make Congress an advisory body and give carte blanche to rogue presidents.
The surprising aspect of this conclusion is not that the Constitution can be informally amended. That has been the usual way of making revisions. In 1803, the Supreme Court granted itself the power to review laws and overturn them. In 1824, the states tied the electoral vote to the popular vote. Neither of those changes was inscribed on parchment or envisioned by the Founders, but today we can’t imagine our constitutional system without them.

Is This Why Lying "Patriot" Cheat
Tom Brady Endorsed Donald Trump?
New: 87 Deceased NFL Players Test Positive for Brain DiseaseJust read this buffoon:
A putting green on the White House lawn? Really? Because I was under the impression that Obama playing golf was the single greatest problem this nation of shitheels & ignoramuses faces. What's that? Oh, well then, as long as you're a White Republican it's perfectly O.K.!New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, when asked if he thought Republican Donald Trump could win the presidential election next year, said he "hopes so," ESPN reported.
Before the start of the Republican presidential debate on Wednesday night, a reporter asked him: "He's a guy who likes winning like you. You think he's got what it takes?"
"I hope so, that would be great," Brady responded. "There would be a putting green on the White House lawn, I'm sure of that."
Trump owns more than a dozen golf courses around the world, from Florida and New York in the United States to Doonbeg, Ireland, and Turnberry, Scotland.
Wednesday wasn't the first time Brady's apparent backing of Trump has surfaced. Reporters recently noticed one of Trump's "Make America Great Again" caps in the football star's locker at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts. When questioned about it, Brady said it was given to him by Trump through Patriots owner Robert Kraft. He called it a "nice keepsake."
Earlier this month, after a judge vacated the four-game suspension handed down to Brady by the NFL over the "Deflategate" soft footballs controversy, Trump tweeted a congratulatory message to Brady, calling him "my friend and a total winner."
The two men reportedly are occasional golf partners, but Brady until recently has deflected most questions about whether he will vote for the real estate billionaire in next year's election.

Now It REALLY Begins All Over Again
And as if I'd bother, but this bit where a musical artiste (O.K., an att'y. somewhere) tells a (usually Republican) candidate "Stop playing my fucking song, you don't even get it did you fucking listen to any of the lyrics but the chorus you ninny?" is far from new, innit?
Aggrieved party Neil Young prepares to crank it up to 11, some time ago. Say, is Ol' Neil a real 'Murkin now, or is he still skating on that tourist visa? Damn well better be paying taxes.

If At First ...
Is there a point? Not really, just this question: Neither religious whack-job having won in 2012, why in hell would they get their bands back together? Unless they're going to berate their ex-staffs further for being such fucking losers. An event that could be quite lucrative on pay-per-view or live-streamed for a fee. I'd pay (Not a whole lot, mind you.) to see & hear it.
In Huck news:
Oh no, how did we start on next yr.'s election already? Have to pay attention to the bigger picture. It's hard to stop 'though.Yes, Mitt Romney's tendency to toady to superrich donors and entrepreneurs — coming on the heels of George W. Bush's high-end tax cuts — certainly saddled the GOP with a plutocratic image problem. But what about its tendency to flatter culturally alienated middle-class Americans by dismissing evolutionary biology, by mocking professors and "experts" of all kinds, and by pandering to the prejudices of a certain kind of ill-informed, reactionary religious believer?
The fact is that the Republican Party has long since become a bizarre only-in-America hybrid of fat cats and rednecks.
Deep down Republicans know that while a Huckabee candidacy might help address the image problems associated with the first half of that equation, he'd make those wrapped up with the second half far worse.
Consider some of Huckabee's public statements in recent years:That, my friends, is what right-wing American populism sounds like in the second decade of the 21st century. It is the irritable mental gesture of a provincial (rural or exurban) white America that can't tell the difference between cultural signaling and a cogent argument. And it treats the details of public policy as an afterthought or a matter of indifference.
- Praising the work of a hack historian lionized by Know Nothing evangelicals, Huckabee declared in 2011, "I almost wish that...all Americans would be forced, at gunpoint, to listen to every David Barton message." (Thank goodness for that "almost"!)
- Responding to the Sandy Hook school massacre of 2012, Huckabee suggested that schools had become "place[s] of carnage" because "we have systematically removed God from our schools."
- Last winter, Huckabee stated in a speech (not unscripted remarks) that "if the Democrats want to insult the women of America by making them believe that they are helpless without Uncle Sugar coming in and providing for them a prescription each month for birth control because they cannot control their libido or their reproductive system without the help of the government, then so be it."
- Huckabee's latest book, slated to appear on Jan. 20, is titled God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy.

Knee Slapper Of The Wk.
"Wk." because it happened three days ago, whatever day that was. From the fetid comment swamp 'neath an NRO "Huckabee's not a real glibertarian Christian" ("He’s more of a liberal Christian populist than a limited-government conservative.") screed, a rib-tickler I hadn't heard before.
For one thing, he's Catholic, which means there's two millennia of the world's most distinguished philosophy behind his beliefs, which cannot be said for Huckster and his fellow televangelistas. However, Santorum is also something of a naif, and has found ways to spoil his own chances. Too bad, really, but he's not quite presidential candidate material.Left unspoken is that Rick is not quite actual President material.
But back to the "world's most distinguished philosophy":
The Catholic Church does indeed have a vast history of great theological and philosophical minds working on Her behalf. But it is a great mistake to think that Santorum partakes in that legacy in any way. What's most frightening is that these people appear literate & typo-free. (Except calling the church "Her.") You might encounter them in meatspace & not even realize they were so inane, insane & potentially dangerous.

Morbidly Obese Fascist Jerk Report
Well, this reporter is shocked, shocked I say.So, one of the takeaways from the scandal was that the U.S. Attorneys who weren’t dismissed were incredibly suspect. The attorneys who were found acceptable to the Bush administration were the ones who would launch phony investigations against innocent people and who would cover up criminal activity if is was carried out by Bush’s allies. Chris Christie was a U.S. Attorney who passed that test. He was considered sufficiently corrupt (or corruptible) to remain a U.S. Attorney in Alberto Gonzales’s (and Karl Rove’s) Justice Department.
How did he pass that test? Let’s go into the Wayback Machine:The enmity between Mr. Christie and Mr. [Bob] Menendez dates at least to 2006, when Mr. Menendez was running for Senate and Mr. Christie was the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey. Mr. Christie’s office started an investigation that touched on Mr. Menendez’s dealings with a community group. Mr. Menendez charged that the inquiry was politically motivated — nothing came of it — and people close to the senator say he still resents it.Why wasn’t Christie dismissed in the great purge of 2006? Because he did what he was told, and harassed Bob Menendez during election season.
After Christie became the governor of New Jersey he had the power to make dozens of appointments to the Port Authority, and it is now clear that he continued his practice of using his office to politicize non-political organizations.
This should surprise exactly no one.

Dumb Clouds Stay Away
& Don't Come Back No More
Seems pleasant enough.
Clichéd, loud-mouthed Horatio Alger assholes:
Some would call that bootstrapping, or drag out other platitudes; judging from Gov. LePew's fictionalized background & current pleasant personality we'd guess it was inability to hold a job for long (A pattern that looks to continue w/ the Governorship.) until:LePage was born in Lewiston, Maine, the eldest son of eighteen children of Theresa (née Gagnon) and Gerard LePage, both of French-Canadian descent. He grew up speaking French in an impoverished home with an abusive father who was a mill worker. His father drank heavily and terrorized the children; and his mother was too intimidated to stop him. At age eleven, after his father beat him and broke his nose, he ran away from home and lived on the streets of Lewiston, seeking shelter wherever he could find it, including in horse stables and at a "strip joint". After spending roughly two years homeless, he began to earn a living shining shoes, washing dishes at a café and hauling boxes for a truck driver. He later worked at a rubber company, a meat-packing plant, and was a short order cook, and bartender.
LePage worked for a lumber company in New Brunswick, Canada that was owned by his first wife's family from 1972–79, and later for Scott Paper in Winslow, Maine. He later founded his own business consulting firm, LePage & Kasevich Inc., which specialized in aiding floundering companies. In 1996, LePage became general manager of Marden's Surplus and Salvage, a Maine-based discount store chain.

Tweakers
I can already hear many commenters sharpening their pencils, ready to go after the youngsters for being RINOs. But the kids have correctly identified the problem. It isn't "tweaking the message" that will win back voters, it is a change in tone and attitude. One can stand on principle and still try to be inclusive, tolerant, and welcoming. It's a no brainer - except that most in the party haven't figured it out yet.Not sure about the difference between message tweaking & changing tone & attitude, 'though tweaking the message often means "shut up about your retrograde sexual & social attitudes & don't call those bitches sluts so often in public," but the clue Moran needs is that when the party's very fucking "principles" are opposed to inclusion, tolerance & welcoming, changing tone & attitude will either require most of the party's desires to be hidden away or flat-out lying about the party's once-in-office goals.

The Delusional, The Gullible
& The Cretinous
One of the laudable attributes of the Tea Party movement is the B.S. filter of its members. Bachmann knew how to channel and tap into this quality. She was masterful at capturing the anger and resentment that wells up in people when they are told what kind of light bulb they must buy. In the 2012 campaign, she wasn't afraid to take on her Republican primary rivals, most successfully calling out Newt Gingrich during one debate for repeatedly treating her like she didn’t really belong there.Maybe ol' Dick is trying to be clever & mocking when he mentions the anger & resentment of light bulb purchasers, but that may be a liberal (so to speak) interpretation on our part, possibly because our entire being & identity is not dependent on what sort of light bulbs we can buy.
No damn idea what that last sentence pulled from J.D.'s spew means. It can't really be meant to be complementary, can it? (Did all the other rivals go easy on their opponents?) Her greatest success was not proposing bold, visionary new policies but "calling out" Newt Gingrich? (Note to Dicky: She didn't belong there. None of them belonged there, let alone in the White House.) If he is mocking it's awfully subtle.
And this list should be absolute & final proof that the B.S. filter on the Tea Party movement needs to be taken out & cleaned, if not replaced. Dicky Dickerson should just be replaced, though taking him out & hosing off the bullshit that has caked on him over the yrs. might be a good idea. How can anyone live w/ the stench?

True Patriot
No. Fuck no. The true patriot is Scott Prouty, the real American who put Mitt Romney's off-the-record 47% remarks on the record.
Especially amusing/ironic is that the principal reason he brought a camera to the gig was that he'd worked a similar gig, w/ Bill Clinton grubbing the money, & Clinton went to the kitchen, met the catering or kitchen staff, shook hands & posed for pictures. Not that Clinton isn't a pathetic & needy politician, but we'd love to know how many times Mitt Romney stayed to meet people doing actual work at his events. The over/under on that is -1.
Full disclosure: You bet your fucking ass we're in that "47%." We can't even remember the last time we bothered to file w/ the I.R.S. or the State Board of Equalization (Great name. If only it lived up to it.) 'though it was long before we started our campaign to bleed the gov't. dry & stop the military-industrial-Congressional complex by collecting the money we paid into Social Security. And the housing money we're getting.

Desperation Time
At the very least typist Warner Todd Huston is sure liberals (& the President personally) have been pissed off by this. "Furious," even.
And, it's an exclusive! No one else had the story! Silly old mainstream legacy media. Completely in the tank for Obummer. If only they'd covered this, Obammy would never have been reëlected. Never!! This is also incontrovertible evidence that all the Internet-savvy tech whizzes have deserted the community organizers & are now aligned w/ the stupid greedy party. Won't be long before hateful Republican messages of exclusion & rabid extremity are all over social media & those 'phones the kids love. And once young people get those messages, well, you can bet they won't be voting for a Democrat Santa Claus next time.As Obama's OFA made its debut, no one in his purportedly Internet-savvy campaign had obtained the corresponding .com, .net, .org or .us sites, nor did OFA register other names that are close to its official one, as is the sensible practice. In the case of the .net address, a fellow named Derek Bovard had already registered the .net address by the time Obama's team took notice.
Bovard has routed his new site to the homepage of the National Rifle Association.
So, whenever anyone goes to www.organizingforaction.net they end up seeing the homepage of the NRA.
Naturally, Obama and his fellow community organizers were furious.* So furious, in fact, that they have replied by filing complaints against Bovard--and, apparently, a variety of other people who had registered domain names that OFA now wants.
So, Warner Todd, next time you come across a game-changing exclusive like this, we'd suggest you just go jack off in your hat. Even if you're caught at it the embarrassment will be less than publishing this load of desperation should have been.
*We were unaware that Mr. Huston was a psychic & mind-reader as well as a talented exclusive-finder. Either way, he jacks off in his hat.
