Aparición / Apparition

It is awesome to see how much one can go forward when your
mind and heart are put in to it but it`s also a blessing to know
you can go anywhere you want if you do!

It all starts with a little dream
It keeps going with tons of love
you get there with stamina!

Fall is warmth
and Love
and the great sunsets embracing us.
Ho, this time is precious!

My altered book live class is coming along, I am happy with it,
I love teaching live, it`s a lot more rewarding and a lot
better for the students, I get to tell them step by step what
is next and be a friendly advice exactly when it`s needed!
My students are growing fast and they don`t even know it!

Let us be truth so it will be
easier to live a good live and live
with a peaceful consciousness,
live by that which may give you peace so
when you go to sleep at night your
dreams are of beauty, with a feeling of content
that you are in the right path, that your soul
feels so great you can`t wait for the morning
and the stars shine in your heart!

One day at a time...

I`ve been practicing a lot, I want to be able to grow my art skills even more,
the only way is to go a head and do it, practice and learn, sometimes I surprise
my self with magical touches, some others I wish I had undo like in photoshop!

Having a goal keeps me going, other wise it would be tiring and frustrating, my wish
has always been to be able to paint what I can see on my mind, sometimes just ideas
but usually better in my mind that when put in the action but more and more, with
each day of practice, I come a little closer so that is my motivation!  In the mean time
I use what I have, what I know and I am happy with it!

This is the first page of the bamboo watercolor papers, I showed you in the
last post and let me tell you the pages are simply fabulous!

"Mirror"

Mixed Media on a 11 x 14 acid free mixed media paper

I`ve also been using the XL Canson mixed media pages like this to paint
over the desk easel and they are fabulous, they hold a lot of abuse,
I love them!

Each day is a step into a better self,
each day a new realization of how I´m blessed,
each day is reaching higher,
each day is finding happiness,
going forward,
going to self,
going farther
out of the shelve,
growing stronger,
growing together,
growing pure,
growing forever...

"Shine"
Mixed Media 13 x 10. 5 inches watercolor paper
this was an experiment, one that I want to repeat!

"Fruiting"
Mixed Media on a 11 x 14 acid free mixed media paper,
I have been thinking about circles and more circles and so I gave this a try to
let it out, I like how my abstracts are taking shape, little by little coming out of the
corners of my soul, this is called fruiting because I used a fruit photo as reference!

I have been painting over cardboard, thanks to Misty
in my current class, I love it and it`s
super easy to find around the house, I love to recycle all
kinds of them and now I always have
a few ready to go for when inspiration strikes,
I really recommend you try it!!

love the path
for the path
is who you are...

A bussy week

When you are focused on what you want
the hours go by and the days are short,
life blooms possibilities everywere
and words are usless...

You have thousands of new possibilities,
life is generous with each one of us.

The process of Arting

I feel blessed when I get the chance to learn but this time I feel specially
blessed to be learning from Misty Mawn, I lovingly call her an Art Fairy,
she inspires me so much  and I am taking her new class about
faces and I am just flying on happiness everyday!

I decided to dedicate my self to learn more this year, I want to
improve and the only way I know is to practice, to learn more and then practice
the learned, or if you know of a better faster way let me know!!

I believe that the practice is also part of the fun, learning to see better, to
understand the  mediums better, to translate what`s in your mind to the
surface better... it all takes time and it also means that you will be making a lot of
mistakes and even sometimes a mess in the studio, I share my mistakes,
I don`t make them obvious or point them out,  I simply post many of my
works, specially on my facebook fan page, if it`s perfect or if it has mistakes...
I don`t care, it`s my process and were I am  now and I like sharing and maybe
inspire others, so they know, it`s OK to try, it is OK to fail,it is OK to be your self.

My sweet companion, you can`t know how much she makes me happy!

Fridaish

Do you like watercolors?
Many people is afraid of them and
just refuse to use them but I think is a mith!

I wanted to know more about it and
I consider this as "jumping into it"!

I love this media, I`ve never formally
taken a class and perhaps to some that
shows but I love the feel of it and maybe
that`s why I have dedicated some time
to get to know it...

I am Frida obsessed now as you can tell
and I had to bring that feel in to a face painting
with watercolors, I believe that if you understand
how a face is constructed you can use any media
to create one.

On the other side, It would be nice and fun
to walk around the  city with those kind of
flowers in the head and dresses, Lol!

So, usually on me, I became obsessed
with watercolors and I am trying different
stuff, I`ll showyou later a fun project
I am creating!

I love the way the face came out, framing
it makes it appreciate it even better, I think!
Do you like it?

I hope you are well and happy! :D

Painting from a stamp!

I love finding new ways to paint, I`m in the
constant search of inspiration and trying new
things that keep awake my muse and I made
a class about one of my favortie techniques
wich is painting form a stamp!  The class
uses an atc as an example, a cool way to make
them and trade real pieces of art!

Many find it hard to draw but enjoy a lot the
process of painting and this is a cool way to
get started! Once you stamp you start adding
the corresponding shades and lights to make
the shapes look more realistic!

I did this one in my altered book, remember
the one I told you earlier? The big fat encyclopedia,
I love seeing the words behind her, adds lots
of texture and sometimes you find a great word
that can go highlighted in the work!

The only thing you have to be careful if
you are using acrylics is not add too
much paint or else it will be stock when
you close the book! What I do if I add
too much is to sand the work a bit but
I use little paint from the beginning or
if I got carried away I attach an acetate
between pages!

If you would like to take this free class
and learn more about this technique,
you are very welcome to join us!

Enjoy your weekend!
