6 pavilions form the former Artillery Barracks. Located at El Carmen neighborhood.
The history of the Barracks goes back to the first quarter of the 20th century, when the Ministry of War built the site to house the 33rd Infantry Regiment in Seville. Its six pavilions, made between 1921 and 1926, constitute a set of eclectic style with abundant decorative references of Andalusian inspiration.
It is owned by the Municipality of Murcia.
Five of six pavillions are in use: Aquarium, Museum of University of Murcia and Library, Professional Conservatory of Music, Parraga Centre, and at Pavilion 2 for artists.
But Pavilion 1 is still closed. Only 2 times was open for exhibitions. This Pavilion 1 has to be remodelated. Since 2015 its use was going to be for sculptural art and train museum, but, nowadays it has not restored yet.
