- Stepping into an absent coworker's cubicle to answer the phone and seeing her daughter's "Top Ten list to be an Adult!" posted. Click to enlarge if you need to - it's all true stuff. This is a lovely, polite little girl who wrote this - it will be wonderful to see her grow up.
- From The New York Times Book Review this week, a review of "SMARTER THAN YOU THINK How Technology is Changing Our Minds for the Better" by Clive Thompson. From Amazon.com: it is about "How technology boosts our cognitive abilities - making us smarter, more productive, and more creative than ever before. It's undeniable: technology is changing the way we think. But is it for the better? Amid a chorus of doomsayers, Clive Thompson votes yes." Click on the red review button above to read the review in the NYT.
- But here's my favorite part, that sums the review up at the end - click to enlarge:
I was struck by this passage, because he's right - I probably wouldn't write for pleasure if it wasn't for my blog. Very interesting reading. I always list Blogging as a hobby, but it really brings a lot to my life and of course, the fact that I have so many good friends in you all is a bonus!

Hope springs eternal, reality strikes and cleared
- Realizing how old I am getting when one of the star football players from high school is on Facebook, talking about Weight Watchers Points and how many walks he is getting in this week. He was frozen in time before. Reality strikes again.
- My county library system decides to have a fine forgiveness week featuring food donations that will go to a local shelter. We may bring in one can of food for every dollar in back fines we owe. I rustle up four cans and a smiling lady takes them in. My record is cleared.

Spring snow, pastels and hippie name
- Hearing excitement from the reception area at work - there is snow falling. I am told, "look, if you look carefully against the black awning of (the business across the street) you can see a flake now and then." And indeed it was true, but, sadly, it did not stick.
- It was so cold yesterday that everyone broke out their sweaters again, but most went with the more pastel colored versions in a nod to spring.
- Being tagged to do one of those crazy social networking surveys "What would your hippie name be?" To my chagrin, it would be Freedom Daisy Sunshine (even though I picked my favorite color to wear as black.) Very cool friend Gator would be Gypsy Willow Dusk. Much better.
