Façade Work Underway on 142 West 21st Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Exterior work is progressing on 142 West 21st Street, a 13-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by BKSK Architects and developed by Yiannes Einhorn, the 135-foot-tall structure will span 61,256 square feet and yield 22 condominium units with an average scope of 2,756 square feet. The development will also include 610 square feet of commercial space, a cellar level, parking for 16 vehicles, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The property is located on an interior lot between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

Housing Lottery Launches for Mabel at 335 8th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Mabel, a seven-story residential building at 335 8th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX and developed by MAG Partners, the structure yields 188 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 57 units for residents at 70 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $66,103 to $227,500.

New Renderings Released By MAG Partners For Mabel And Anagram Turtle Bay In Manhattan

New renderings have been released for two recently completed residential developments by MAG Partners: Mabel, located at 335 Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, and Anagram Turtle Bay, located at 300 East 50th Street in Midtown East. Mabel, designed by COOKFOX Architects in partnership with Safanad and MetLife Investment Management, rises seven stories with 188 residential units, 30 percent of which are designated as affordable. Anagram Turtle Bay, a 23-story tower designed by BKSK Architects in partnership with Global Holdings and Safanad, includes 194 residences and also delivers 30 percent affordable units under the Affordable NY program. Both buildings are now leasing.

201-207 Seventh Avenue’s Façade Nears Completion in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is close to completion on 201-207 Seventh Avenue, a nine-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Amie Gross Architects and developed by New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development under the Chelsea HDFC, the 85-foot-tall structure will span 30,859 square feet and yield 26 affordable co-op units in studio to three-bedroom layouts. The project will also include 1,828 square feet of retail space divided among three tenants. The property is alternately addressed as 170 West 22nd Street and located at the southeast corner of Seventh Avenue and West 22nd Street.

Construction Resumes on 20-Story Condominium Building at 550 West 21st Street in West Chelsea, Manhattan

Work is set to resume at 550 West 21st Street, the site of a 20-story residential building in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Developed by Legion Investment Group, the structure will yield 75 condominium units. According to the Real Deal, the developer acquired the stalled property for $87 million last year and can build a mixed-use project measuring up to 172,000 square feet. The nearly 0.5-acre project site is located at the corner of West 21st Street and the Hudson River Greenway.

NYPD Bomb Squad To Relocate To 241 West 26th Street in Cheslea, Manhattan

The New York Police Department’s bomb squad is set to relocate its operations to 241 West 26th Street, a six-story structure that formerly operated as a parking garage in Chelsea, Manhattan. The project involves renovations to the structure’s 37,725 square feet of interiors and refurbishments and light modifications to its exterior. Tori Operating Corp. is listed as the owner of the site, which is located between Seventh and Eighth Avenues.

Demolition Wraps for Two-Building Development at 250-260 West 23rd Street in Chelsea, Manhattan

Demolition is finishing up at 250-260 West 23rd Street, the site of a pair of seven- and 14-story residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Developed by TF Cornerstone, the structures will yield a combined 170 condominium units, with 140 in the larger building. The through-block development will also include ground-floor retail space split into five storefronts with frontage on West 23rd Street, and a residents-only parking garage for 35 vehicles on West 22nd Street.

280 Eighth Avenue’s Façade Takes Shape in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction is quickly progressing on 280 Eighth Avenue, a 13-story mixed-use residential building in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Red Apple Group under the RA 280 Development LLC, the 172-foot-tall structure will span 95,561 square feet and yield 104 rental units with an average scope of 650 square feet, of which 28 as designated as affordable housing, as well as 6,083 square feet of retail space, 511 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 24-foot-long rear yard. The ground-up property is situated at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 24th Street and was once the site of a one-story commercial structure for Rite-Aid.

One High Line’s Public Plaza Nears Completion in Chelsea, Manhattan

Construction on the new landscaped public plaza and ground-floor retail space is almost finished at One High Line, a two-tower residential development at 500 West 18th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, and Field Operations in a private-public partnership between the City of New York and Friends of the High Line, the outdoor and commercial space sit to the east of the twisting pair of 36- and 26-story structures that were separately designed by Bjarke Ingels Group for Witkoff Group and Access Industries. The entire complex spans around 900,000 square feet with 236 condominium units in one- to five-bedroom layouts, as well as an upcoming hotel component that will be operated by Faena Hotel. The property is alternately addressed as 76 Eleventh Avenue and stands adjacent to the High Line on a trapezoidal plot bound by West 18th Street to the north, West 17th Street to the south, Tenth Avenue to the east, and West Street to the west.
