A Nice Day Out

On Wednesday my WI group had a lovely trip on a canal boat

There were lots of people on paddle boards
It was a lovely tranquil trip on the water
and the weather was glorious, sunny with a nice breeze

The only dissapointment was we didn't know the cafe closed at 4 which was when our trip finished, so no coffee and cake ☹

Be safe and well∼

Afternoon Tea

My WI's annual summer outing was to Ongar garden centre

where we enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea.

Mini quiches, sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, and cakes. Most of us couldn't manage it all, we took the cakes home for later!

And afterwards we browsed around the shop

It was a lovely day with glorious weather

Hyde Hall

My WI group recently enjoyed a day out at Hyde Hall, an RHS garden centre.

The gardens are beautiful

We moved some tables into the shade to eat our lunch

Then strolled around

and finished at the shop

I looked at jewellery and scarves but decided I have enough of both!

How cute is this. I miss buying cute things for my grandson, he's 20 now!

WI Garden Visit

Last week our WI meeting was at a glorious garden in a nearby hamlet. Most of my WI ladies have known our hosts for many years.

The house and gardens are truly picturesque

After a warm welcome from hosts T and L, T gave us a tour of their beautiful gardens. I had visited a few years ago when it was open to the public, but I never tire of visiting delightful gardens.

A well stocked Koi fish pond. At feeding time T taps his foot at the edge of the pond and the fish appear for their food!

Lovely Alpine House

A quiet corner

Fruit and veg

These lovely ladies have a very nice home. Each girl usually lays one egg a day.

Immaculately organised shed to the left, leading to T's mancave,
in the middle is a cabin where they hold their wine evenings!

T's mancave, it has a wall mounted TV on the wall to the left.

Our lovely afternoon ended with tea and delicious cakes -
banana and chocolate and peanut flapjacks 😋
