ZŪCHA

Affogato Brand Design was approached to create the complete brand identity and packaging for ZŪCHA — an alcoholic kombucha made for chill moments and easygoing nights. The challenge was to break away from the usual “wellness and minimalism” aesthetic seen in most kombucha brands and instead build something youthful, vibrant, and socially expressive.

We drew inspiration from the bustling streets of Hong Kong, Bangkok, and cities across Thailand — buzzing with neon glow, street signage, market chaos, and cultural mashups. These sensory-packed urban spaces embody energy, spontaneity, and a sense of shared experience — the exact feeling ZŪCHA aims to evoke.

We translated this chaotic yet magnetic energy into a bold and playful brand world. The visual language fuses graphic tigers, layered geometric motifs, and rhythmic type compositions reminiscent of East Asian street posters and signboards.

Every element — from the vibrant color blocking to the distorted, flowing typography — was designed to feel alive and in motion, echoing the fizz and kick of the drink. The tiger became ZŪCHA’s central emblem: powerful yet playful, confident yet inviting.

On the can, the brand name wraps fluidly around the tiger illustration, creating a dynamic sense of movement. Supporting patterns draw from kombucha’s fermentation process — circular SCOBY forms, rising bubbles, sliced fruits, and droplets — abstracted into repeatable geometric shapes. Together, they form a layered visual ecosystem that feels handcrafted yet electric.

The outcome is a striking departure from the soft wellness codes of typical kombucha. ZŪCHA stands out on shelf as an expressive, energetic beverage for social occasions — a bridge between craft culture and nightlife.

The design captures attention instantly, sparking curiosity and conversation. It positions ZŪCHA as a drink that’s not just consumed, but experienced — alive with flavor, fizz, and culture. From cafés to events to your friend’s fridge, ZŪCHA brings a slice of Asia’s urban chaos to every chill moment.
