The First One I Made...

Just a couple of days ago, I posted a lovely wedding card for the Global Dream Theme Blog Hop. I did not tell you that the card I posted was actually the second card I made for the Hop. After encouragement from friends, I'm also sharing with the the first card I made but wasn't happy with. After the comments of friends, I am starting to see that this card isn't terrible like I thought it was.

Just as you saw the used of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on the card posted, I used it here as well as a mat for the lovely lacy paper from the "Falling in Love" collection. I heat embossed the "Floral Phrases" stamp and sentiment over the DSP. I also used Dazzling Details (which sadly is no longer available) over the heat embossed floral stamp (which you can't really see in this photo).

The inside, just like in the one posted, I kept very simple by just stamping the sentiments and matting it. Hope that you like it.

Happy stamping everyone!

Dream Theme BLog Hop - Weddings

Welcome from Renate's blog!

Before we know it, weddings will be announced as the warmer weather comes along. It may be hard to think of that as many are still having problems with snow, and I know there are winter weddings too, but it is the warmer weather that seems to suddenly have you going to a lot of weddings. So with Spring and Summer weddings in mind, and bedazzling the bride, is what inspired this card. Oh, and there is nothing wrong with having some wedding cards at hand so that you don't have to rush at the last minute to create one.

As you can see I used the 'Floral Phrases Bundle' to create my wedding card with. This is a great 'go to set' for any kind of wedding project - invitations, cards, gift sets, boxes, wedding keepsakes, table decorations, luminaries, etc.

Dazzle the bride! Behind the die cut I have the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, and used it as scalloped died cut mat for the Stampin' Write Marker coloured stamping on the Stitched Square die cut, as you see in the photo below.

This side view shows the layering and the ones that are popped up.

I kept the inside very clean and simple by matting with the Pear Pizzaz, and stamping the sentiment with Flirty Flamingo.

Hope that you enjoyed this lacy sparkly card that a bride will love.

If you did not arrive here from Renate's blog, you can make the circle going back to hers and keep going back to the previous until you've made the completed tour, or you may go forward to Krista's (Jennifer will posting hers a little later today) and do the same by going forward to the next. Be sure to let them know how their creations have inspired you.

Penned & Painted Wedding

Cutting into the sharing of "Thoughtful Branches" Limited Bundle Set projects available for the month of August only,  and showing you instead, a wedding card I made using the lovely new Penned & Painted stamp set. I hope to have a future class with this set, but I have to tell you this is a must have set! Do I say that every time I use a new set? Sorry, but once I started using it, all these ideas came into my head and I can see using this set for years to come. I love the three step set that creates the watercolour painted & penned look.

So let's get on to showing you the wedding card.

No, there is no die set for this card, but those of you that know me well, know that I love to fussy cut, and a wedding just calls out for that. Here is a close up of the details. Used the Metallic Silver Thread here and there as well.

I photoed both sides of the card for you and put them together in this collage.

And then there is the inside. I opted to just use the 'painted' part of the stamps on the inside and added the sentiment from 'Best Birds' (both sentiments are from this stamp set).

One more thing to share with you about this card, it is a 5 x 7 card rather than usual size I make.

So excited to make cards for a class now, but I will be getting back to sharing ideas with the 'Thoughtful Branches' bundle first. If you can't wait till the class, go ahead and order it now; you can always bring it to class with you later.

Happy stamping!

Whoops, I forgot to include the Silver Metallic Thread - 138402, and the Pool Party ink pad - 126982.
