Zee Daddy/Papa-to-be

A lot of friends have not yet had the pleasure of meeting the Daddy-To-Be Olivier - so here is a photo of him looking decidely un-French - pic taken during his holiday in Bondi over Christmas, when we actually Made Zee Bébé!

When I was in my 20s and single, my gorgeous Grandma Helen warned me not to wait around for someone as lovely as my Dad. "There's not many men around like him, you know!" she said. Well Grandma, if you're reading this up in Heaven, trust me, I found a good one!

He is kind, loving and at the risk of embarassing him totally, just ADORABLE. Funny, clever, supportive ... I could go on and on! Lucky Louis/Max/Sébastian/Whatever We Call Him, as far as I'm concerned, to have a role model Dad like Oli B

Personally I am convinced he was sent to me by Amma - I came back from my first five weeks in India (having done the Marriage Advancement Ceremony, en plus!) and met Olivier almost straight away. I had such an open heart at that time, after five weeks in Ammaland, and look who walked right on in!

How's this?

Apparently the other photos here do not show MY ENORMOUSNESS!

Fi demanded "more more close ups", Vee called it a "cute little bump", and Claudia apparently thought it just looks like I haven't been saying "No" to pizza often enough. (Ha! I haven't been saying "No" to pizza at all!)

So (above) in glorious curvaceousness here are another two shots taken from a useful if not-altogether-flattering angle by Maman last night, which I am sure you will agree look more like 'Bambino' than 'Quattro Formaggi'!

Hehehe...

OK What The Heck

Here is a shot of me side-on for anyone who wants to see my growing profile! Still 20 weeks to go (or so) - the mind boggles at what size I might end up! I feel like I must be way too big for 19 weeks but Dad seems to think I am about on track. If it weren't for the scans, I think I would be convinced I am having twins!

Amnio Angels

Those of you who know about Spirit Moons might like to see the Amnio Angel hovering over me and Oli B after the procedure - I had written to my Indian teacher Amma to ask for some extra angels to be sent to watch over me on the day and in the days afterwards ...

Those of you who don't know what I am talking about but are curious, can e me! xxx

FWIW

For what it's worth, (along with Oli B's Super Sperm!!!) I credit these pills with having boosted my fertility so that we were able to conceive super-quickly. Click for more info about Maca Powder

And of course the 24-hour-a-day prayers of my parents for the last five years ("Dear God, please make us Grandparents!!!!"), and my visits here were even more influential! Thanks Mum and Dad and Amma! xxxx

You goys!!!!

One of the most wonderful things about telling everyone about le bébé has been the incredible reaction - from people saying they burst into tears, to others leaving messages on my phone with them singing and carrying on ...

It's amazing being pregnant, as any mothers or fellow preggers people reading this would know - the whole world makes such a fabulous fuss. It's amazing that having kids is so (er...) common!!! Because I think we preggers ladies are made to feel like the First Woman Ever to bear a child.

Anyway, if you're reading this and you're one of the lovely people who just eed or called me to say congrats during the past week or so THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY WEEK!

A photo of my BUMP coming asap, as requested...

Please note...

Greetings!

There has been some consternation amongst friends - eg: Jane "I can't believe you didn't tell me!" Purchall. However, all of you who have ever claimed I am strangely secetive can now pat yourselves on the back in your rightness!

First I wanted to get through the first three months, then as I had waited that long, I decided to get through the amnio too - that was two weeks ago, and the results came about three days ago and were perfect, thank God.

The only people I told were -

1. Olivier

2. Mum, Dad and Claudia (and Blaise)

3. Plus the luscious Carolyne G, who knew what Olivier and I were planning and supplied us with the ovulation testing kit *and* called around 10 minutes after I had done the positive pregnancy test two weeks later wanting to know...

4. ... and Mlle Tobsha Learner, who also knew of my and O's plans and asked me if I had "managed to get up the duff yet?" so many times until I couldn't fob her off any longer!

So please note - the next few (5) posts were all written and SAVED but not actually published to the Net until a few days ago ...

IT'S A BOY!!!!

We are in shock - knowing the sex makes it SO real! I keep thinking of Anna's Blair, Fi's Alex, Wilma's Taz and Dex, Jane's Felix and Amanda's Flynn ... I know our little boy will be marvellous - maybe even marvel-louis - hint hint! I sort of knew that Pheebu is a boy but it still is hard to comprehend as all my life I expected to have a girl! Josephine, of course, was right...!!
