Ahhhhhhhhhh...

I would like to write something about how TOTALLY AMAZING Olivier has been - not just since Louis was born 17 days ago, but in fact throughout the whole time I was pregnant too. But I am not going to, because it would be too mushy. Just take it from me. He's amazing.

Olivier feeds me, and I feed Louis...

GOOD NEWS: Went to the Bondi Beach Early Childhood Centre and not only did the nurse speak French but Louis did BRILLIANTLY on all his tests - he's gone from 2.78kg at birth to 3.02kg in two weeks and from 51.5cm to 52.5cm ... which is not surprising since HE DOES LITTLE EXCEPT EAT AND SLEEP!

:-)

I meanwhile have managed to lose INCREDIBLY 10 kgs in the same amount of time. Only 15 to go!

And now for a few more photos...

More breasts...

Since I've already flashed my bazookas on this site, thought I would put up this pic, taken just a few hours after Louis' birth... (before my boobs became Monster Size!)

A few people have asked about The Full Birth Story:

The full story is that I went into labour around midnight on October 10, 10 days early, and went to the hospital around 4am, half-expecting to be sent home later, but the labour went on - however by 9am I was only 1 cm dilated - but in REAL agony - and didn't seem to be going anywhere.

Strangely they responded to my begging for an early epidural and it was just as well they did, because - after they had spent half an hour or more finding the anethetist and then getting the thing inside me - they broke my waters ("to keep the labout moving along"), saw meconium and realised Louis was in distress -

Apparently distress often happens when a baby is trying to get out but the dilation isn't really happening -

So thankfully, as I already had the epidural in place, they were able to turn it up, whip me into the OT and give me an emergency Caesar within about 10 minutes of seeing the meconium - Louis emerged screaming his head off but otherwise very very well and very very cute indeed!!!!!!!

Not sure but I think it's the sort of scenario that might have finished one or both of us off, 100 years ago... Oooh la la!!!

I must admit was initially left a little bamboozled by the whole experience - sort of like being in an episode of ER as they raced us through the corridors and bumped someone else out of the Operating Theatre so we could get in there - but now I just thank God that Louis emerged into the world, happy and healthy, safe and sound, and beautiful.

Please make welcome THE WORLD'S CUTEST BABY EVER!

OMIGOD! Thank you God! The baby - young Louis BB - or is it Louis BB - is HERE! More later, but yes, it was labour and there was nothing false about it. He's happy and healthy, safe and sound. WOW.

I thought he had engaged yesterday but now I think he has just gone breech!

OMIGOD!

To cut or not to cut?!

Just went to a pre natal class (I cry all the way through them) and what's funny is that Olivier originally thought I should have a natural not a Caesarian, but the more he learns about natural, the more he thinks the Caesar sounds like a good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still preggers...!

Ever wondered what you'd look like if you gained 21 kilos?

No news yet - a few people have eed to ask if Louis has popped out - nope - he is still wriggling around inside me - but he's not actually due for about another two and a bit weeks...

All well so far - actually can't decide whether it's good that he's not yet here - because it means I still have time to buy a baby mattress/pram/breast pads etc -

...or if it would be wonderful for him to appear, so I can lose 7 kilos overnight (we're guessing!) and hopefully find it easier (a) to get into bed and fall asleep and (b) turn over in the middle of the night without first getting out of !@#$@! bed - !

Not over the pregnancy actually but TOTALLY over the inability to toss and turn like a normal person.

O still fretting about how loudly a baby will cry, I think. We are trying to imagine what the Famed Sleep Deprivation Cycle will be like. But all good, thank God. xxxxxxxx
