Calendar Clipboard

Today I have a project featured on the SRM Blog HERE. The SRM DT members were asked to choose some of their favorite new products to use on a project. I'm always in love with the calendar stickers so decided to go that route.

I am a piano teacher and am constantly needing to look at the calendar for dates. Having a year-at-a-glance is perfect for rescheduling lessons, figuring out tuition, determining performances dates, etc.

Putting the 2014 Mini Calendar stickers on a clipboard that I can keep with me during my lessons for easy reference of dates came to my mind. This will be so handy to have!

I added the "Year of Memories 2014" label sticker to the bottom of the calendar.

The pennant banner border stickers add a fun touch to the top of the clipboard.

Can't wait to put this calendar clipboard to use!

Oh, and if you happen to be looking through Paper Crafts July/August issue, you can see my SUNSHINE card on page 28. Also, in the July CARDS issue, the "Travel" section header features my "Enjoy the Journey" card on pages 100-101. Fun stuff :)

December 7th

Miranda woke me up a little after 6 am to drive her to Jazz Band. So tired this morning! I admire her for getting up each morning at 5:20am. As we were driving out of the neighborhood, I saw two women walking along the Parkway. What a reminder for today! I miss those early morning walks with Paige.

I had to stop to get gas in the van after dropping her off. Yesterday I drove around with my Low Fuel light on all day. On the way to Krish's concert, we pulled into the station to fill up but both DH and I had left our wallets at home. I assured him we still had 30 more miles to go before completely running out of gas (and hoping that my calculations were correct). $80.00+ for gas today. I'm thankful the price has gone down under $4/gallon.

In the mail yesterday, I received the Jan/Feb issue of Creating Keepsakes. I have a layout in there on page 14. The picture on the layout is of DH and me. I showed him and said, "look your in a magazine". He didn't seem too impressed. But Bird sure was--"Mom, YOUR project is in a NEWSPAPER?" Yes, a magazine. It was pretty cute and made me feel good to see how excited he was for it.

On the treadmill today, I read the CK issue instead of watching tv. I also listened to the music playlist on my Windows phone. Nokia has a music app set up so I can just pick what type of music to listen to and it has a shuffled list of songs. Reading the whole CK issue took almost the entire time on the treadmill. It gave me the idea to do that more often because I have a stack of magazines that I still need to read.

After the Y, Merek and I went to pick up Allie from the bus center. She comes out to our house every Friday to nanny for me while I teach piano lessons (I have ten scheduled students on Fridays). We only have Allie for two more Fridays, though. I know the kids will miss her. Especially Merek because she will play "Callastie" with him. It's some make-believe game where he dresses up in costumes.

While I taught piano lessons, Allie took the kids to the library for awhile. Miranda went to visit her friend, Elizabeth. They are watching the Lord of the Rings before The Hobbit comes out next week. My mom and some friends stopped by for a few minutes to drop off a Christmas gift. They had attended Elf at the theater in Seattle last night. It was good to see mom, even if only for a few minutes.

Lina and a group of girls from church were attending "Clara and the Nutcracker" this evening. I was able to go with them. It was at a youth theater. The production was fun to watch. I enjoyed seeing the youth actors and actresses really get into their parts.

It was a busy day, which I am thankful for. Needed the distractions. Looking forward to the weekend.

July CARDS cards :)

In this month's CARDS issue, I have five cards published. That was quite an exciting series of emails that I received while we were waiting on the plane to leave Hawaii in February.

If you haven't had a chance to pick up the July issue yet, I'll give you a preview here :)

pg. 98--Made with Dec. PDW kit

Thanks for visiting today. I cannot believe it is already July! Much of the country is swelting in heat but we are bundled up because of rain and cold. But they say, the summer doesn't arrive here until after the 4th of July . . . 3 more days :)

And the winner is . . .

Congrats, Kim M.! Thanks to all who visited my blog and the Scarlet Lime blog last week.

Kim-- choose between my favorite scrapbook products or 8 handmade cards (your choice of sentiment). Just leave me a comment to let me know what your choice is :)

All of my posts last week were scheduled. We were vacationing Hawaii and got back late Saturday night.

Yes, it was wonderful :)

And I received happy mail upon our return home from CARDS magazine requesting five of my cards for publication in their July 2012 issue. That is exciting!

Busy week--so who is scrambling to make Valentines for their with their kiddos, like me, for tomorrow? I thought about doing it before leaving to Hawaii, but you know how that goes. LOL

Be sure to check out the steal over Nikki Sivils blog! Fun products at a fabulous price :)

Enjoy your Monday! And, again, congrats to Kim! :)

First layout pub

I can finally share my first layout in print :) If you have the July 2011 Scrapbook Trends, it's on page 97.

This is very exciting for me because 1) it is my first layout picked up by a major publication, and 2) this layout is one I made just for the call. I knew right away what I wanted to do and put it together. It's totally my style.

Thanks for letting me share with you.

Miranda and I are busy-busy getting ready for girls' camp next week.  (What have I gotten myself into?)

Have a fantastic weekend. :)

Publication showcase :)

I can finally post these . . .

This is the desk calendar I made that is published in the
Spring 2011 Northridge Media CREATE Mini-albums issue.

I made this last fall using Elle's Studio calendar tags as the main part of each page. Each page measures 4x4 inches. I kept the designs the same for each month, just changing the way it was embellished.

I used several different kits for the project. Love using up kits!

This card is publishing in CARDS Trends April 2011 issue.
I made it with a Hip Kit from last year, and it is
probably one of my favorite cards that I have ever made.

This card is found in the May 2011 CARDS Trends issue. Funny thing--I had to recreate this card after submitting it. I had given it away to Lina's Reading Buddy at the end of the school year. If you see the card in the mag, maybe you will be able to find the subtle differences. I could not find the MLS sheet with the die cut for the pocket, so I substituted a blue-lined Post-it note. :)
Thanks for letting me share my pubs with you!

Enjoy Cinco de Mayo--I think Mexican food will be
on the menu for dinner tonight. I have avocados and Fritos--my
two favorite foods (well, top ten at least).

Are you celebrating in any special way today?
