Warmaster: Araby - Progress Pt.2

So Pt.2 of my Warmaster Araby series is here for your reading pleasure.

For Pt.1 of the progress go HERE and the Project Beginning HERE.

Right anyway it's been slow going with these, partly because of the sculpts being a bit plain and partly because I've 4/5 other projects wanting some paint (Including 60 Zombies reading for a giant Judge Dredd game at BOYL16).

Enough of my moaning time for pictures!

Warmaster: Araby - Progress Pt.1

As regular readers know I'm currently working on my 2nd Warmaster force, for those which may have missed it (Shame on you) you can read the start of the project here: Warmaster: Araby - The Project Begins.

How have I progressed?

Honestly?

It's been a real pain in the bum!

Why?

Well due to the fact my first order was mostly the same few sculpts in large numbers it's been a strain keeping motivated, plus it doesn't help that the same sculpts aren't very detailed and rather soft.

Still I've gritted my teeth and grinded though (Also been breaking it up by painting Mordheim and K'47 toys) and made some progress.

Warmaster: Araby - The Project Begins

As regular readers know I like my smaller scales and one of my favourite scales is 10mm.

Already having 1 10mm army (My Orcs) I thought it was time to get them someone to bash or in the case of my Orcs lose too.

So what army to choose? It has too be a army I can build from alternative figure ranges as GW figures sell for silly (and I do mean silly) amounts.

Dark Elves? Tempting but I'm not too keen on the alternative minis.

Kislev? These ended up being close to the army I went with as most of the army could be built from Historic Polish.

Skaven? Sadly no suitable alternative ranges I liked, Gun wielding Mice though...

Araby? Bingo! Alternative ranges? Check! as there's both Fantasy and Historic ranges that'll fit and I'll get to run fun toys like Flying Carpets and elephants.

Well anyway one small test order and a few weeks wait and here's the first bits though the door:

Warmastering

'Ello my OoaB readers I have some goodies (Baddies?) to show you today.

If you remember from Back to War..master? Blog post I'm back working on my 10mm and despite the problems with my eyes I'm rather enjoying..

Well ok maybe not the bloody basing which is a pig even with using texture paint.

Well thats enough prattle it's time for pictures of toys!

YAY!

Back to War.. master?

So last Orctober I started up a LotR themed Orc army and other then a couple of games they saw little action.

I think I lost interest dew to not having much selection to choose from and despite ordering a few more bits they came too late and the bug was gone to another project.

Well all I can say there is nothing like losing your job combined with a upcoming game to give the spark back.

So the last few days I've painted up a few units and tidied up some others, plus I cleaned and prepped a few more units ready for the paint brush.

Warmaster Orc Reinforcements

Well there's been a real lack of Blogs here ain't there?

Well that's all down to work and a increased workload (Still I've had a pay raise already which helps) but I haven't been idle on the hobby front with the postman still bringing me little packages of goodness and gaming once a week.

I've also had some painting time which I've been building up a Kings of War Varangur (Chaos for those in the WhFB frame of mind) force from Grenadier and Ral Partha figures.

But more about those soon :)

Anyway my Warmaster Orc force has gained some reinforcements from no less then 3 separate companies.

Warmaster Battle Report: Orcs of the White Hand Vs Dwarves of the Mountains

Together, my lord Sauron, we shall rule this Middle-earth. The old world will burn in the fires of industry.
Forests will fall. A new order will rise. We will drive the machine of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the Orc.

So last night as a rather busy Watford Wargaming Federation I had my first game of Warmaster ever!

My long suffering opponent was also playing his first game and came armed with little Dwarven Gits.

Anyway here's some pictures of our game.

Orctober 2015 Pt.4 - Whom do you serve?

Whelp, Orctober is coming to the end and I've completed my goal of having 1k Warmaster Orcs painted (Not a legal list but as this is part of a greater whole it matters little).

Orctober 2015 Pt.3 - Looks like meat's back on the menu boys!

As promised a update of my Warmaster LotR Orc army, it's slow going but I'm rather enjoying seeing it build up.

Plus as I have so many units I can jump from one to another if a unit get boring or the colour starts to hurt my wee eyes, so I'm much further along then the finished picture look as I have 4/5 WIP units as well :)

Orctober 2015 Pt.2 - The Union of the Two Towers

The world is changing. Who now has the strength to stand against the armies of Isengard and Mordor?

To stand against the might of Sauron and Saruman and the union of the two towers?
Together, Lord Sauron, we shall rule this Middle-Earth. The old world will burn in the fires of industry.

The forests will fall. A new order will rise. We will drive the machinery of war with the sword and the spear and the iron fist of the Orc.

We have only to remove those who oppose us.

So dispite a bone crushing week of work and the joy of a new (Evil) furball I've made good progress on my Warmaster LotR themed Orc army.

Orctober 2015 Pt.1 - Mordor Marches!

Now as I'm sure we all know Erny from the self titled Erny's Place runs the Oldhammer version of Orctober every year.

Now this year I was going to sit it out as I'm quite burned out on Greenskins as I'm doing a Hobgoblin force for Tale of 4 Oldhammer Gamers & my Mordheim Orc Royal Court.

But as my treat for starting my new job I ordered some 10mm Orcs from Copplestone Castings and they turned up less then 24 hours after ordering woot!

Now I only done a small order but enough to get started on for the time being.
