Austenitis' Facebook

Well, everyone, here it is: the official announcement. Austenitis has a Facebook! In fact, it has for several weeks now, and 34 of you have already gone and liked it (many thanks -- y'all are awesome!). Now, there are a couple things I want to mention before giving you the big link.


1. When it reaches 51 likes (50 people other than me), I'll be giving away a book. Not entirely sure which one, but possible The Dilemma of Charlotte Farrow or Unbreakable. This giveaway will be for Facebook followers/likers only.

2. What will you find there? The condensed, highlighted, and enhanced version of this blog. I link to reviews, both book and movie (and probably music). I ask questions (anyone know anything about a new version of Scarlet Pimpernel?). I occasionally talk about giveaways. I may talk about things related to period dramas, favorite books, upcoming soundtracks (yay for the Deluxe version of the Les Mis one!), and, among other things, I post pictures that Austenitis loves but doesn't want to post on the blog. And speaking of pictures...

3. I've created albums containing (thus far) pictures from Les Miserables and Hobbit! I'm also working on getting all my Doubles pictures into albums there as well.

4. Austenitis' Facebook will also be the place to keep up most with what's upcoming on the blog. It's kind of a less formal, more friendly version. Not to say this blog isn't friendly...oh dear. I'm digging a hole for myself. But understand what I mean? Oh good.

My Entries in the Keep Calm Contest

75 Followers! And Another Event?

Thank you so much to each of my 75 followers! I am honored that you enjoy this blog enough to follow it. Each of you is special to me, and your comments always make my day!

Now I know some of you just clicked on this post because of the mention of an event. I believe I mentioned in passing a while ago that I was considering doing an "Event of Musicals." That's what it is called until I think of a better title...if I do. Anyway. It would be similar to my Book Bash, but probably shorter in most respects. My question: would you participate? Probably all there would be to do would be a shorter tag. And, of course, comment on my posts. Thoughts, anyone? Tag question suggestions? I'm open to it all!

But before you get too excited, I should mention this is in the formative stage...and may not ever happen. We'll see what response I get.

I'm putting up a poll on the left for you to leave your answer about participating! But please do comment too, and tell me your thoughts!

Blogmark!

I started to call this post "Landmark" but it's a blog, not on land. :) If that sentence makes any sense to you, you're a genius. Or you know me well.

Anyway, this post has two reasons. The first, to point out that I have 50 followers! Thank you to Books Ahoy, the 50th!

The second reason: I passed the 350 post mark! Does it feel like I'm reaching these blogmarks all the time? Yeah. I am. What can I say? I read a lot, watch some, listen some, interview some... :) Yes, there are more interviews coming soon!!!! Very exciting for all of us.

This is my 355th post, I think...so. :)

Wow, can you believe it? I'm still processing this amazing fact. :) 300 posts...many reviews and some other great things too! I've had so much fun getting this far, and I hope you've enjoyed it too.

Currently: 38 followers! As you may have noticed, I announced on the sidebar bar that when I have forty-five followers, I will have another giveaway! So tell your friends. :)

We have arrived at 250 posts! Can you believe it? I'm having trouble. :)

Yes, I am up to my 150th post!!!! Can you believe it...all those reviews! And other things too, sprinkled through out. :) And as of today, I'm up to 23 followers...which means when if I get two more followers, we'll be having a giveaway! It may not happen exactly when I have the followers, since I'm still finding prizes, but it will be soon after!!!

100th Post!

!!!!!! I made it! This post is officially my 100th post! :) That's pretty impressive. I have published 72 book reviews and 19 movie reviews, leaving nine other reviews/posts, counting this one. I have 10 posts in drafts right now. Coming soon! :)

Out of the books I've read and movies I've seen since I began this blog, 21 have been in the 1800's. Runner-up is the present (19), then the 1940's, with 10. {note: the present is only so big because I'm reading the Red Rock Mystery series, which are set in the present}

The most popular rating is an 8 (24 items) followed by an 8.5 with 15.

Genres I use a lot include adventure (27), fantasty (13), fiction (35), historical fiction (8), life (13), mystery (15), romance (24), and western (8). I like facts, statistics, numbers like this. :)

Remember, everyone, I'm planning a great week of giveaways for when I have 25 followers! Prizes may include (not definite yet) bookmarks, books, and potentially much more! Oh, while I'm posting...note that two of the sidebar polls have closed. There were ten votes on each: on the one asking what time period is your favorite to read in, the overwhelming vote showed everyone like the 1800's best. And I mean everyone! On the other one, giving the choice of genre to read, historical fiction got 90%, mystery got 40%, and romance and adventure were tied at 30%. Good job! Don't forget to vote in the present poll, asking whether I should continue with CD and song reviews!
