Bookworm

Definition: a miniature creature of the human variety that can't get enough of books, also known as Elanor.

For the last week or so Elanor has become a bookworm, book-a-holic, book lover and reader. The first thing we do in the mornings is read. The last thing she wants to do while getting ready for bed is read. All day we read, read, read. We've read some books so many times that she can fetch that book by title or by the first couple of lines.

Elanor reading at 17 months

Just for comparison Sophie, the first bookworm, reading around 16months. Sophie was such a big bookworm that I didn't think Elanor would be also. Boy was I wrong, really wrong. The biggest problem now is when they both want me to read a different book at the same time, we've had to learn to take turns.

No Oven

I want to cry, my oven is broken. In the final stages of pizza making on Monday I realized that the oven was not preheating, the big sign was a cold oven after 15 minutes of preheating and there wasn't the annoying clicking sound of the oven heating up. What a sad sight for those 4 delicious looking pizzas, 2 big and 2 little. Lucky for the girls I was able to cook their mini pizzas in the toaster oven and lucky for us our friends moved in a street over. I felt a little silly caring pizzas up the street but was mighty happy bringing them back cooked to perfection and oh so tasty. Now we wait for the oven to get fixed. Yes, just the oven is broken (must be the heating elements) so I can still use the stove top. This just means no bread, no cookies until the oven repairman comes tomorrow. I am hoping he can fix it, cross your fingers.

Update: Well, the oven repairman came yesterday. You know the drill, just like taking a sick child to the doctors, the oven worked when the man turned it on. Boy did I feel dumb. He was nice enough to still do his job and found some loose wires in the back. He tightened them up nicely for me and went on his merry way. My biggest question is why did our rental agency call in someone from Harper's Ferry WV? Well, at least I can now make some bread.

Sophie and Elanor on BYU campus.

This summer the girls and I went on a little vacation without Andrew who was stuck at home working, we flew to Utah. We had so much fun with grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncle and cousins.
We went to the zoo one day and down to visit my grandparents in Beaver. Sophie and Elanor had so much fun playing with their cousins and just being the center of attention, everyone wanted to play with them.
As much fun as it was spending time with my family, it was great to get back home and be with Andrew and our routine.

What pretty princesses I have.
