Turkey Day

For some reason the only pictures we have are of dessert. Dinner was delicious and plentiful, so I'm sad I have no pictures of the food or the company. We had a wonderful time with our friends- it was good to have a full house for the holidays.
We helped the kids make candy turkeys. Most of the turkey parts got eaten before they were assembled which was funny. But really, what did I expect from the 2 and 3 year olds?
Brandon made me a lemon meringue pie (even though I know he really didn't want to). It was his best meringue yet - also very delicious.
We also had chocolate angel pie, Derby pie, pumpkin pie, and pecan pie.
Kurt really enjoyed his red filled Oreo...

Hats

He also likes hats...
This day, Daddy and Kurt were going out and Luke thought he was going too. He was very sad for a minute when the door was shut before he made it out. But after donning the Leo glasses, he managed a smile :)
He wouldn't let me take them off. He had a snack, watched Rocket and played.

Sock Hands

Luke's latest obsession has been socks. But not on his feet, on his hands! He'll take them off his feet and ask me to put them on his hands. Today he found Daddy's socks so he could keep his own on his feet and wear Dad's on his hands (and arms). It looks like some sock puppets will be joining our home soon.

Handsome Boys

Need I say more?

PB&J with a Twist

I bought the boys "Uncrustable" sandwiches the other day and they devoured them! So I thought I might be able to replicate the fun by making our own uncrustables. We've had trains, turkeys, snowmen, and gingerbread men!

Hawkeye Express

Today we went to introduce the boys to some "new friends" (again, Kurt's words) and ride the train before the season ends.
Here we are with the conductor
And on the train, so excited while we're waiting for it to drive
The group of us (yeah, there was no way I was going to get 4 kids to look at me all at the same time...)
A picture with the engine
And I don't know why I like this picture so much but I do

Go Hawkeyes!

Daddy finished his big test and wanted to play with us all weekend! Yea! We went out for dinner and to a volleyball game.
Per someone's request- here is our ticket stub "scrapbooked" so we'll always remember it
The boys "dressed up" as Hurkey for the games
(that's what Kurt said when he'd get his shirt and hat on)
Luke mostly watches Hurkey roam through the crowd and calls to him, "Hurkey, Hurkey!"
(Ten points if you can find Hurkey in the crowd below us)

But when he came over, both of the boys froze and panicked. I made them both come with me for a picture, and by the looks on their faces, you can see that they weren't very happy about it
And we've been to enough games so that Brandon is an official member of the "Hawks Nest"

Mustache

Luke has started eating dinner again (yea!). Tonight we had enchiladas and he really enjoyed the sour cream!

Rough Day

In the morning, Luke tried to pull our fire extingisher off the wall. He was successful, but he must have also jammed it into his eye. Then later as we were outside playing in the leaves he completely turfed it on the patio. This is the day it happened.
This is 5 days later

Leaves!

We've had a beautiful week and decided we needed to take advantage of it. The boys have been tromping through our leaves everyday as we go in and out and Kurt is always asking if we could jump in them. So before the rain came back- we went out to rake.
The boys asked if they could help and actually did a great job
After we got our pile nice and big, the boys had a great time being thrown in the leaves
Kurt was very brave and let me toss him high
But also loved jumping on his own
