Camping fun or not?

We went camping Fri. night. We just went up for the night and came back home early afternoon on Sat. It was fun. Cole had fun running around like an indian. We took a little hike through the woods and Cole wanted to find some bears so badly. Will would kind of hike up ahead get down like he was looking for something and make a bear track and show Cole. Cole would get so excited. We would go a little further and he would do the same thing. Sage has had a little cold and has been whinny anyway but she would not let us put her down the whole time. Except when she could sit it in the camping chairs by herself like a big girl. Which she tipped over and face planted it and cut up her cheek. Will and Cole slept on the air matterss outside and Sage and I were in the tent on the ground. Neither of us slep much. Finally around 4:00 a.m. I got up and took Sage outside to sleep on the mattress too. She saw Cole cuddled up to Will. She wanted to sleep by her Dad but there was no room on the other side and Cole had one side. So she just climbs over Cole's head and throws herself across Will's face. He laughed and let her sleep like that for awhile. Then, she came back by me and we had a great rest. I don't know why we all didn't sleep out there in the first place, I just thougt there wouldn't be enough room. Cole had fun, Sage tolerated it and Will and I have packed not to go again for a long time, unless it is for a family reunion or something like that.

Willy, Willy, Willy...

Our computer mouse has been kind of difficult to work for the past few months. Everytime Will uses it, he gets so frusterated and will pound it on the desk or squeeze it really hard or something like that. Last night he says, "I swear this mouse gets worse and worse all the time. Do you think so?" I just chuckeled a little and said, "You don't think it has anything to do with you squeezing it and pounding it do you?" He gave me a dirty look and said he was getting a new one.

OH NO!!!

Yesterday we had planned to go on an hour and a half ride on the river boat. (they gave us coupons for $3.00 at the park one day). I had never gone before and had always thought it would be kind of fun but was not willing to pay the nearly $20.00 for it. So when a few of my friends and I got coupons, we decided it would be a fun way to spend the morning. We were going to meet at 9:45 am to get on the 10 cruise. I was running late (as usual) but I knew I could make it by 10. I told the two other girls who were already there that I would meet them on the boat. Julie was already parking by the time I had gotten on the freeway. I pulled up about 5 min. later and then paid for the parking and was ready to run to the boat when I noticed Julie in the parking lot still. So I waited for her. We had only 10 minutes before the boat left and she hadn't paid for parking yet and then there was a line and one guy couldn't get the machine to take his money so we were still waiting. She finally gets up to pay and then we head across the street and we hear the horn of the boat blow. We wave as it pulls off...What do you do? I it didn't bother me too badly because there is a lot of things to do downtown to spend an hour and a half and we could catch the next ride. Luckily, we both have passes to the discovery museum and it was only 2 blocks away. We went there and the kids had a great time, especially because there was a curious george exhibit. We made our 12 ride and enjoyed our little cruise. I had fun but glad I didn't pay more than $3.00 for it because then it wouldn't have been worth it to me. The kids, well they had a great time running around the posts and just playing with eachother.

So what did I learn from this experience? I am not someone who gives myself time to spare so I can't suck up other people's time. Not only that, but if something gives me a glich, then I will be late all by myself. I am okay with this but I will just have to worry about myself and not others or my ship just might sail withouth me.

4th

This is the first year that Will has been here for the 4th of July because he usually goes to the Daytona 500 race. I was so excited. After the kids went to bed on the 3rd, I jumped on the internet to see what festivities were going on within a 30 mile radius of my house. After looking and looking and looking...nothing. There was one parade but it was one that anyone who wants to can be in it and I was told that there aren't even any floats just old cars and other cars people want to show off. CRAPPY!!! So when Will got home, about 9:30 or so, he noticed that I was in a foul mood. He asked what was wrong, if the kids stressed me out or if I was sick or anything. I just looked at him (kind of annoyed) and told him how unpatriotic the tristate area was. He started laughing his head off. He thought it was so funny that I was mad because the community didn't celebrate. I told him that we lived in a small town (chickamauga) and that they should be more united and community oriented. He told me that we could do anything I wanted for the 4th. How gracious because there is nothing going on. So I dragged him out earlier than he would have liked to go swimming (the water was kind of cold and Cole wasn't helping with spraying us down with the hose. It was fun though. We had a bbq with his family and then came home to wait for fireworks. I couldn't wait until dark so I pulled out the snaps, chamange poppers, and sparklers and Cole, Sage and I went to town. Will came out when it got dark and we did the good fireworks. We had roman candles, fountains, oh, I don't know but tons of fireworks and most illegal in UT. Where we live, we are on a hill and we were also able to see 3 different firework displays all around us. It really ended up being a fun day but I would have enjoyed a fun parade too. Oh well, I can't always have my cake and eat it too.

Family Visit

Ryan, Michelle and their kids came for a week. It was fun to have them here. They have 2 kids one is 6 and the other 4. The kids all played so well together. Ashley would be so excited to see Sage all of the time and the feelings were reciricated. The kids went to Coolidge Park and played in their water area. This is the first time Cole has ever enjoyed this. It was fun to see him run in and out of there. Katie and Ashley always have loved this place and I am glad that they requested to go there this year. Now Cole is willing to move to Colorado to be with his cousins. He actually calls them his "friends". The kids played together nonstop and wore eachother down. We miss them and can't wait until Aug. when they and Lauren come back (bringing a new Uncle!)

Family Visits

Lauren came down for a week visit. Cole wouldn't get in the pool all year but one day, she and I were in and he decided that he would swim with me. Then, he wanted to swim with Lauren and it was all over then. She got him to jump off the side, go down the slide, and splash on the stairs by himself. He has been a little fish since this day. A fish that won't get his head wet. She stayed with us and the day started every morning with, "Mommy!" (my cue that Cole is up and I need to go in and see him.) I go in his room give him a hug and tell him good morning. He responds with, "where is Aunt Lauren?" When she left and I had to tell him she was back in Utah, he volunteered to move to Utah. I told him I was on boat with him he just had to work on his Dad. It was a lot of fun to have her down and we miss having her so close but are glad that she is in such a good place in her life and so happy.
