Temple Square

If you are not a native, what is a SLC trip without going to Temple Square? I was pretty excited to go back because it has been years since I have last been. It is such a wonderful place to be. As we were walking up the spiral ramp to see the Christus, Cole says, "Mom, are we going to heaven?" I said, "well, kind of, a replica of heaven kind of." Then he says, "well, where is Jesus then?" Right as he asked that, we rounded to the top. I said, pointing at the Christus, "right there". He sat there and stared at Christ for a couple of minutes. Later as we were walking around we came to the story of the Good Samaratin display. He had been walking ahead of me with someone else (I don't know who). I had caught up to him and he said, "the robbers beat him up." so then we went over the story again, a few times actually, to show how the man was helped by the good samaratin and it all worked out okay. Just before we left, he hurried and stuck his hand in to touch the people. He was really upset by that display. He talked about it the rest of the time there. It was kind of interesting to watch him there. I have always thought he was kind of sensative to the spirit from some other things in his life that have been said and done but it still surprises me how sensative he is to it. I am glad though. I love Temple Square and I know that won't be my last visit there.

The Goats

Marc and Diane are in a goat Co-op. So Diane suggested that we take the kids to the see the goats. I thought it was a great idea. We gathered everyone up and went. It was so wet and soggy. It was so gross! You would step and sink into about 2 inches of poop. But, we had fun. I got to milk a goat, which I was pretty excited about and kind of surprised at how easy it was. Cole got to hold a goat and Sage didn't want anything to do with most of it. Dempsey was having a great time running through the mud and the muck. Then, she fell down...right into the mess of it all. She had goat waste all over her. It was kind of funny. I don't know if Victoria thought it was all that funny while she was cleaning her up. She is really easy going though and it didn't really seem to bother her. It was fun but messy. A big thanks to Marc for cleaning everyone's shoes off. The pictures I have are from a later day when Diane, York, Talon, Cole and I went back. They do not show the yucky ground.

Cousins!!!

After Lauren's house, we headed over to Ammon and Jill's house. It was so much fun. Cole slept in the room with Atlas, Orion, and Adam. I was a little worried that he would have some trouble there but he slept all night. When he got up in the morning he said, "Mom, I slept with my cousins!!!" He was so excited that he had done it. The next day we met up with more cousins and the day after that more cousins. It was so much fun. My kids were so exhausted at night but went to bed with smiles on their faces. Easton had a police bike rider. Cole couldn't get enough of it and we got sick of the siren. We had Easter morning at Ammon's and then we all headed over to Marc's and did a huge Easter Egg hunt. It had snowed the night before so we hid the eggs for the little kids in the house and then the older kids had to look outside for their eggs. It was fun hiding them. I think we had 6 dozen or so and then a ton of plastic eggs too. Everyone got plenty. The kids all watched a movie on the actual meaning of Easter while we were hiding the eggs. Great plan!

Aunt Lauren and Uncle Nick

After a long travel day, the kids were exhausted from getting up at 5 a.m. GA time and making it to good ol UT . They did so well but were finally able to fall asleep 2 minutes before we pulled up to Lauren's and Nick's house. They were so excited that they were there that their sleep deprivation slipped away. Nick had borrowed a cool mountain car track from his parents and Cole was thrilled about that. We jsut played nintendo and enjoyed our family that day. I went to see Serena that night and then we retired to bed at about 9. The next day, we went to Cabellas. We love places like that. I think the kids loved it even more with Aunt Lauren and Uncle Nick. Thanks for everything guys! We all miss you and are excited for June!!!
