That was then; this is now

"Change your filters, be they for masks, engines, oil, or water."

Anthony J. Ciani writes in part in the American Thinker,
... One study showed that freshly opened surgical masks reduced the exhalation of bacteria by 75%, but after 120 minutes of use, a surgical mask no longer blocked bacteria, and after 150 minutes, a surgical mask exposed the patient to 50% more bacteria than no mask. Change your filters, be they for masks, engines, oil, or water.

...At my workplace, 13% of the employees have complained to me about how unhealthy they feel wearing their masks. I have overheard retail workers complaining to coworkers about how they feel sick, burning in their lungs, and coughing because of their masks. Masks are the "sorry," not the "better safe." Those at greatest risk from the "WuFlu" venture out, unaware of the odorless death penetrating their masks. Those who are knowingly ill venture out, thinking their masks are protecting others. Wearing masks for hours at a time exposes the wearer's lungs to unhealthy levels of bacteria.

"Liberals everywhere were seen burning their masks and running around licking doorknobs to own Trump."

From the satirical Babylon Bee:
Genius Trump Wears Mask Causing Media To Question Effectiveness Of Masks
July 13th, 2020
BETHESDA, MD—President Trump really is playing 11D Settlers of Catan while the rest of us are playing 2D Tiddlywinks.

Wanting the nation to begin questioning the effectiveness of masks at stopping the spread of coronavirus, Trump put on a mask during a visit to a medical center, causing the media to investigate whether or not masks really work. Liberals everywhere were seen burning their masks and running around licking doorknobs to own Trump.

"Yes, masks seem to be effective at first blush, but do they really work?" said a CNN anchor. "The bad orange man is wearing a mask, so we have to wonder: do they really stop the coronavirus? What is it that he is hiding behind that sinister disguise?"

The media finally changed its tune from "Wear the d*mn mask" to "Well, let's look at the pros and cons of mask wearing," with the 4D chess expert President Trump having forced them to do their job of investigative reporting rather than parroting left-wing and government talking points.

"I was getting really annoyed with all the 'wear the mask' talk, so I decided to put one on so they'd come out against them," Trump said at a press conference. "I played the media like a fiddle. Well, I've never played a fiddle, but I was always told I had beautiful hands that would be perfect for the fiddle. I bet I'd be tremendous at the fiddle."

Just to have fun, Trump took off the mask in the middle of the press conference and then put it back on several times, causing the media to change their opinion on mask wearing over 17 times in three minutes.

When should we wear masks?

In Heavy, Jessica Migala interviews three "experts." They give their opinions on whether or not you should wear a mask when...at the grocery store, while driving, in your own home, while visiting a friend's home, at the doctor or dentist's office, while getting your hair or nails done, during a walk, run, or bike ride outside, or while taking public transportation. How criminals use the masks

C. Douglas Gordon reports in Western Journalism,
Aaron LaTowsky had five perfect words for his thoughts on killing a naked home intruder: “God bless … the Second Amendment.”

According to KSAZ-TV, LaTowsky was confronted with the unclothed, combative man in his daughter’s room Wednesday night in Scottsdale, Arizona.

LaTowsky is your average American — a man with a wife, three kids and a dog named Sadie.

He also owns a shotgun. He never even had to use it against an intruder until this week.

The unnamed naked man who apparently entered LaTowsky’s house, estimated to be between 18 and 19 years old by police, had first been reported allegedly trying to break into a different home in the area.

There, the homeowner scared him off and he was gone by the time police arrived.

At LaTowsky’s home, meanwhile, Aaron was outside at the time. The rest of his family was sleeping — except for his dog, Sadie, who alerted him that something was up.

“So I came inside, and I saw one of our side doors was open and she was barking down the hall towards my kids’ bedrooms,” LaTowsky told KSAZ.

LaTowsky said he grabbed his shotgun and went down the hall.

As he went into his daughter’s room, LaTowsky said the suspect emerged wielding a piece of wood, his face masked and his body naked.

“He basically was lunging at me, so it was very quick,” LaTowsky said.

“He had his hands in the air. I could see something dark or black coming at me, and again it was very, very close, so I fired almost immediately.”

LaTowsky expressed gratitude for his constitutional rights.

Stop lying to us about masks!

Ace of Spades links to Tucker Carlson, who calls for the government to stop lying to us about the efficacy of masks. Ace writes,
Tucker Carlson: The Government Needs to Stop Lying to Us About Coronavirus
—Ace
He means, specifically, the stories the government put out that "masks don't help you avoid transmitting, or even contracting, the virus."

That was a lie. The lie was told in order to reduce demand on masks, so that health workers -- who do of course have a more pressing need for them -- could get them.

It was a lie, and now people still believe the lie and are still saying "masks don't help."

And can you blame them? The people whose guidances and orders we are supposed to follow without question were just telling us the lie that masks don't work, in order to free up supply for high-risk personnel.
