Somewhere in the whirlwind 2012 we've had (on April 18th, to be exact), our Claire went from 2 to 3! We had special circumstances on her birthday. It was the day we began our journey to my Grandma's funeral. But, before we left, Claire accompanied me to the store and picked out the most sprinkled, girly donuts she could find. All so we could plop a candle on her sugary breakfast and sing "Happy Birthday."
Chris and I had previously ordered her gifts from the Disney store and the package didn't arrive in time for her birthday. So, the night previous, I picked out some little things from the Dollar Tree (like a Minnie Mouse jump rope and card games) and picked out a cute Minnie Mouse shirt from Target so she would have at least some gifts to open (and something special to wear) on her big day.
As we drove through Colorado on our way to Vernal, Utah, we would remind Claire it was her birthday by saying "Happy Birthday, Clairey!" She always responded back "Happy Birthday!"
