Manly Monday Owl-Who Me?

The owl is from patterned paper. I used a Spellbinders die to cut him out and then the next size up cut it out of a wallpaper sample. The sentiment is stamped with alphabet letters from SNP (no longer in business). The die cut was cut it half and so I placed a Creative Memories sticker over the seam. The brown background paper is dry embossed with a wood pattern embossing folder by Darice. The strips of paper are scraps from my stash. Thank you for stopping by.

Owls Ask, "You're How Old?" Cards

I cut the ovals with the Creative Memories cutting system

The owl was downloaded over 10 years ago. The pp is by Studio G

The sentiment was created in Word and the other is a stamp by Stamping Scrapping. The ribbon down the center is hard to make out.
I inked the oval with distress ink.

This next card is an owl from a package of school scrapbook ephemera. I typed up the sentiment in Word then used a Sizzix die-cut to cut it out. While the paper was still in the die I inked the inside with distress ink.
The tree branch is a Hero Arts stamp that I colored with colored pencils. The blue background is distress ink.

Thanks for looking

Halloween tags

For my tags today, I did the same design but slightly different supplies. I taught a class that featured this design of tag and two other fall cards. They are different because I didn't actually finish either tag while teaching. Just parts of one and parts of the other. Once I returned home I finished things up a bit.

I'll start with the first one which is dry embossed with a Fiskars embossing plate. I then inked the edges with Ranger distress ink using an ink blender tool. I love that look:)

On the left side I fit a piece of black cardstock to the tag and then used the patterned washi tape to finish the edge. The pumpkin border is by K and Co and I cut small pieces of black cardstock to paste behind the border for the eyes and mouths before adhering it to my tag. The center die cut is by Quickutz with Bazzill purple cardstock, the owl sticker is by Bo Bunny, and the bat sticker by Jolee's.

For the second tag, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a bit lighter color distress ink for the edges. The black cardstock and different patterned washi tape are on the left side just like above. I did the same technique with the glittery skull border placing cardstock behind to make the eyes and nose appear orange.

For the center I used a Spellbinders scallop die cut and a square punch by Creative Memories for my spider stamp by Inkadinkadoo stamped with black Hero Arts ink. The orange ribbon is a scrap from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'll be back again tomorrow with another Halloween creation. I hope you will come back and check it out.

IT WAS A TON OF WORK.
Quick note, when I enlarged the tags they were really blurry. So I kept the original and enlarged one.

Owl Grad card

Here is my card for today's post at the Stamp N Plus blog. I used the Owl (L2267) and the alphabet stamps from Stamp N Plus to make my card. I also used powdered chalk mized with paint to color in my owl  and to make my own yellow paper. The tree branch was cut out using my Cricut and the labels are by K & Co. Thanks for taking a look.

Stamp N Plus challenge-Owl Graduation Card

Our new monthly stamp challenge can be found at the
starting today and ending at the end of the month.

The challenge this month is to use black and white only on your creation. {The red in my card is my watermark}.

You are only allowed four entries for this month long challenge. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the month.

For my card my owl stamp I stamped it on black by using white craft ink. It takes a full over night for it to dry but well worth it. I then used a circle punch to give it shape. The sentiment are simply letters that I put in the circle. I eyeballed the whole thing. I like the way it turned out. Perfect for graduation season.

You can find the Owl stamp M970 & the alphabet letters at the given links. These rubber stamps are of fabulous quality producing a beautiful image every time.

Other Supplies:
Patterned paper by GCD, circles by Creative Memories Cutting System or punch, border punch by Fiskars and black ink by Tsukineko.

Be sure to visit the other DT members blogs for their wonderful black and white inspiration.

Thanks for looking.

Owl congrats

Good early morning. 4 AM to be exact. Love it when pain wakes me up in the middle of the night and won't go away. Yeah right.
Anyway, my card today is featuring stamps and chalk by Stamp N Plus Scrap N.
The zig zag cardstock is painted with chalk and paint. I stamped the owl on black carstock using white pigment ink by Stampin Up.
Don't forget our congratulations challenge at Chalk-Ah-Lot Cafe. It ends this Saturday, June 2nd.

One Stitch at a Time #101

This is my debut for the Design team One Stitch at a time. The challenge is to digi or not digi. I chose to digi:) My image is by Stitchy and can be found HERE. I chose to do a Christmas card for a little something different. To really make it different I added a twig to my card. I used Mod Podge to hold it in place. I think it turned out kind of cool. Check it out!

I colored the owl in with Copic markers, the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, sentiment sticker, border sticker and patterned paper by K & Co, die cut by Spellbinders, other patterned paper is by Making Memories, cardstock by OTCo and Recollections. Thanks for looking.
