What we have is a heated furniture insert for pet beds.
We use it in the basement on a chair with blankets for Jaz's naps during the day, then bring it upstairs at night to put on the desk chair so Jaz & Isis can cuddle.
This heated insert is great - it's designed to be used anywhere your kitty needs a heated spot. It can go into an existing pet bed, under a blanket -- plus, it has elastic straps on the back, so it can be attached easily to perches and cat towers (as pictured) -- and it's flexible, so it can go inside tunnels and hidey-holes, too! Plus, the 8' long cord is the longest we've found in a heated pet bed of any kind (this was important for us, because our building is OLD with few outlets).
When plugged in, it raises the temperature of the air slightly above the mat to entice kitty - then when weight is applied by the napping cat, the temperature raises to a constant 102° for maximum nappy goodness. At
