I'm off to the hospital in the morning! Yay! Now that the day is here I feel unprepared, even though everything is done. I guess I'm just a little nervous about how everything is going to go tomorrow. I admit, I'm kind of a baby. I don't want to go through the pain, but I am DONE having this kid inside of me. Seems like the last two weeks have been the worst when it comes to discomfort etc. Sorry no picture. I look the same as the last one, maybe just more miserable. Josh is off playing XBOX tonight with my brothers so I didn't have him to photograph me, and I'm too lazy to prop the camera and try to do it myself. Hopefully I sleep tonight and my next post should be much more exciting news about our son!

December Happenings
This has been a busy month of course! I think the holidays are for everyone. It just seems like it all flew by! This picture is from early in the month. Brooklyn is getting so big and learning so much. She wrote on our tile with crayon. Luckily it was the tile and not the cabinets. Anyway Josh decided as punishment she would clean it up. So much for punishment. She loved it! She scrubbed at the floor forever and then continued around the kitchen cleaning the walls, fridge, chairs, and whatever else she could reach. Hopefully that love for cleaning sticks around at least for a few more years.
A couple of weeks ago my visiting teachers along with the help of my sister-in-law and friends in the ward threw me a baby shower. I got lots of cute clothes. Thanks to everyone that came! It was so weird opening up clothes in a color other than pink! I am so excited for a little boy and all the new experiences that will bring. We decided on a name too, but I guess if you haven't heard it already you can stand to wait 3 more days until we have him. Then we should have a middle name picked out.We only took like 5 pictures on Christmas and they are all of Brooklyn. We aren't the best at remembering to take pictures I guess. So here's Brooklyn Christmas Eve all ready in her new jammies. So was so excited to get princess jammies and her robe lights up. It was fun this year now that she is old enough to start really getting excited about Santa, presents, and all the Christmas fun.
This last one is Christmas morning. Here presents are all around her. She of course would not smile for us. She's such a turkey when it comes to getting a good picture. Anyway, we had a great Christmas at home. To be honest I was really worried about how things would be staying at our house this year. I'm just so caught up in the traditions I'm used to it was hard to do something totally different this year, but everything turned out perfect. It was relaxing and fun to just be surrounded by family, and good food, and presents. I'm glad I got to enjoy Christmas and the special feeling that comes this time of year when you remember the Savior and all that you have to be grateful for. We have definitely been blessed this year in so many ways. It was a good ending to a good year!

It's Christmas EVE!
I guess I'm still like a little kid. But I woke up last night and wasn't sleeping good and all I could think about was that it was going to be Christmas Eve today and that meant Christmas tomorrow and I was so excited! So I hope you all have a great Christmas. I know we are going to. That is...as long as the baby stays put! Okay so I'll love him whether he's born on the holiday or not, but it would be nice if he stayed in there at least until Thursday night.
I went to the doc again yesterday and not much had changed. I was dilated to a loose 2 instead of not quite a 2. The GREAT news is that he called the hospital and scheduled me for induction on the 31st. I should have him just in time to get the tax break. So we are happy campers! Getting that little post it note with my induction time was the biggest relief. All my anxiety feels so much better.

Momma Saw the Doctor....
...and the doctor said; I'm 90% effaced and dilated between a 1 and 2. He also said that the baby has dropped a lot lower than last week and he could feel his head. So...we could have the baby tonight OR in a couple weeks. Gotta love those Dr's helping you to not get your hopes up.

Confession
Okay so after reading some comments on Brooklyn's sleeping arrangement I felt the need to confess. About 5-6 of those animals on the bed are the very same animals I used to sleep with as a kid. One of them is about 20 years old and they are all at least 10-15 years old. And yes...I did rotate them each night so they wouldn't feel left out. This was even before Toy Story was made. I worried about their feelings all on my own. So she obviously gets the fetish from me. I guess there could be worse character traits she can inherit. So this one is okay with me!

37 Weeks!
Can I start counting down now? I've tried so hard to be patient, but with four babies in the family being born in the last 3 weeks I admit I'm getting a little anxious. I'm having a harder time waiting on this one than I did with Brooklyn. I feel like I'm more worked up about things. Maybe because Christmas is coming and I feel like there are things I need to do to get ready but have no energy. I'm excited though! Dr. says I'm 70% effaced, but not dilated at all yet. I've got a strange feeling this kid is going to come early. Trying not to get my hopes up though. Here I am in all my glorious fatness. I'm so sick of being pregnant.

Follow-up
I meant to follow-up a while back and forgot. We tried soap. It worked like a charm. She's only had to have it once. Now we just threaten and she gets sad as can be and shapes up. At least for the moment.

Sweet Moments
We've had a big change! We finally let Brooklyn graduate from the crib. We figured with the new baby coming we would let her be a big girl even though she doesn't climb out of the crib. Another thing we started was giving her the option of having her door open or closed. She always chooses open of course and we close it if she doesn't settle down and go to sleep like she's supposed to. I was very against it at first because of the noise factor. But Josh wanted to do it. Now I am enjoying how easy it is to sneak a peak at her while she's sleeping. And she really does go down better because she doesn't want the door shut. Yesterday I found her after she had woken up from her nap. I went to check on her and she was reading a book in her bed. It was so fun to watch her talking to herself and making faces at certain pages. So I snuck a couple pictures. It's blurry because I didn't want to turn the flash on and have her notice me, but I still love the little memory of my baby who is growing up too fast.
Last night we had a little Christmas fun. I've been wanting to make and decorate cookies so we planned it out for FHE. Mark and the boys came over and also Mandi and Lacie. I think Mandi and Lacie were the most entertained of anyone. They decorated about 80% of the cookies. I should have gotten a good picture of them together, but of course didn't. Here's a fun one of Mandi though. She gave herself the "cutest cookie ever" award. It looks better in person with the sparkles showing!Coytt was proud of his work.
Brooklyn put on just enough frosting so that she could lick it off. She eventually just licked straight off the knife rather than bother with the cookie.
Isn't Josh the cutest?
Mark and Coytt working hard to make some shapes.
I love Christmas time!

What to do...
Just a random story, but Brooklyn has been really sassy lately and talking back to us a lot when she gets disciplined. So I asked Josh today if she was too little to try putting something on her tongue when she talks naughty. We decided to try out some vinegar like Josh's sister uses on her kids. Josh put some on her tongue...she smacked her lips a couple times and looked at him and says, " I need some more!" What?? My kid likes vinegar. I was so mad it didn't work. Hopefully we can find a better method like soap. She's only two and already talking back. What are we going to do when she's a teenager!

Thanksgiving!
We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We had our family over to our house and I got to try to my hand out at being the Thanksgiving cook. Everything turned out well and it was so fun to be with everyone and enjoy the holiday. Brooklyn was a big fan of the pie of course. She had three pieces in one sitting. Talk about a sugar high!We let all the little girls take a bath together. That was one full tub! Brooklyn is getting a taste of what it will be like to have siblings.
I have one last update. I dyed my hair a couple of weeks ago and never really posted about it. For the life of me I can not take a serious picture so sorry all I could post was goofy pictures. I really like how it turned out. I wish it wasn't already fading!

Kaelsy and Steven
We started this past weekend off well with the beginning of a new reminder of Kaelsy and Steven. We met up with Josh's parents at the crash site to help plant two new little trees in place of the old one that burned down following the wreck. It was a special little reminder of family members that we lost.
It is hard to see the little baby trees in these pictures until the last couple. We can't wait to see how they grow each year!
We finished off the weekend with a whole bunch of Rogers piled in together. I think we had about 16 in and out all weekend. It was fun taking some time to be with family. I think the kids loved playing together too. No pictures of that craziness though...sorry. I kept my camera hidden so it didn't get destroyed haha! Josh did shoot him a coyote. Maybe he'll post those later.

Sick Season
Josh and Brooklyn have colds. This is how they deal with the nose drip. How nice of Josh's big brother Kaelsy to give him the idea. Personally I think it's disgusting!

Brooklyn turned 2!!
I can't believe my baby is two! We had such a fun day on Saturday celebrating with her. We got her a little tricycle for her birthday. She loves it so far, especially when her dad helps her pop a wheely. She was soo excited about her birthday cake, presents, and party. She kept running around the house literally squealing hysterically about it.
She got to have dinner on a frog plate. She thought that was pretty exciting too.
Best of all she took a killer 4 hour nap so we got to enjoy her birthday too!
It was a great day. We love our little Brooklyn baby, drama and all! She makes us so happy and it was so fun to celebrate a day all about Brooklyn!

Potty Trained!
I finally broke down and did it. Brooklyn is officially out of diapers (except for bedtime)! Last week after her removing diapers after peeing because she didn't like I it I decided it was time. So I followed some advice the next day and loaded her up on juice and spent the day in the bathroom. I have to say that first day was rough. I actually regret giving her so much juice because she was peeing so often, every 15 minutes to be exact, that she had like 4 accidents that morning. I felt like all I did was change her panties and clean up pee. But that one morning is all it took, by afternoon she was a million times better and from there on out only had a half accident (I know made up name). We did normal amounts of drinks so she was on a more regular schedule. Anyway she went for a couple days where she would start going and then stop and finish on the toilet. Now we've had two full days of pure dryness. I'm so happy she caught on so quick! She's even already had her first "roughin' it" experience. We were at Trunk or Treat and she had to go and she got to use the port-a-potty in the dark, and later that night she had to squat in the dirt. So brave. I still have a hard time convincing myself to do that. She was so proud she peed in the dirt! So I'm going to enjoy my break from diapers for the next couple months until the next little squirt comes along.
Another Brooklyn story...I know I have nothing else to blog about sorry. Anyway so we were visiting with Josh's cousin Diane and her family this weekend and Diane asked us if Brooklyn had gone through the WHY? stage yet. Her three year old was doing it nonstop. I don't think Brooklyn knows what it means to ask why, but all the sudden this morning she has been asking me why about everything! Diane cursed us I guess. Hopefully she'll be forgetting about that word soon, because I really don't think she understands what she is asking. She is just doing it. So she must have picked it up from Diane's little boy. What a fun stage...ha!

Scentsy Sale
I sent out emails to a lot of people also, but I don't have a good email forward list with everyone so I thought I'd post this info here as well. Due to...lot's of things (schedule, baby coming, time, etc.) I decided to stop selling Scentsy. I will be closing out my consultant contract a the end of November. In the meantime I thought I would put in one more order for all my family and friends and give you the products at my cost. That means 25% off EVERYTHING!! Scentsy nevers offers sales likes this, because of course the consultant makes no money. So I'm hoping you can all get some good deals and benefit just from me being a consultant for a short time longer. If you want something you have to call or email me your order because the website will not charge you the discounted price. You can check out the new Fall catalog online though at my site www.scentsy.com/meaganrogers. My contact info is on there as well. Happy Shopping!
Oh yeah...I need to get all the orders by the middle of November if you want your goods in time for Christmas. Thanks!

Lots of pictures of the day at the farm
Today we went to the farm tours at Superstition Springs farms. We took Coytt with us and had so much fun. We saw Blue bell the cow.We got to pet rabbits,
and goats, and donkeys,
and turkeys.
We rode on the tractor.
And had chocolate milk.
Yummy!
We got balloons.
And smelled the cows!
Best of all, the weather was great and everything ended up being free thanks to a nice lady with a really nice extra coupon. Good Saturday fun for the kids!

Blocks!
We had a really nice weekend this past weekend. We started it out early on Thursday celebrating with our friends Nate and Kalli. They were married and had their reception that night. Then we headed up the mountain and made it to the RV Homecoming game. It was fun, except for the part where Brooklyn begged to go home the whole time and repeated that she was "all done football." I guess she doesn't have the patience to sit through a game. On Saturday we did some more partying with the newlyweds at their open house. We spent the rest of the weekend enjoying conference and the nice fall weather! We ended up staying until Tuesday because Josh had a class in St. Johns. So we ended the trip in SJ. Brooklyn got to play with blocks for the first time at my mom's. She was instantly in love and made her Uncle Brent build her lots of towers to knock over. She was so sad that we had to go home.
When Josh graduated I gave him a table saw to start a new woodworking hobby. He also got money from both our parents and some siblings to add to his tool collection. He made good use of it tonight and cut Brooklyn some blocks of her own with some scrap wood he picked up from Home Depot. He even let me try out the saw he recently picked out with his Dad. It was pretty fun, and Brooklyn was so happy! She told Josh thank you a million times. She loves her new blocks and I was happy she got some good entertainment with the scrap wood for less than a buck!

The Toddler Who Couldn't Care Less
I kind of forgot to update about some of the stuff we've been doing. The past couple of months most our trips have been camping. We've done three. Two with friends and one with family. This picture is of "Brooklyn's Tree" that Josh carved for her at the family reunion. We're going to mark her height on it every year. We have had such a fun summer and Brooklyn now loves camping!
So here's my dilemma...which explains the title of the post. We have this problem with Brooklyn not really caring if she gets in trouble. It has been so frustrating. We try to discipline her about taking her diapers off, or not listening, or whatever and no matter what we say or do she just continues with her happy little face and changes the subject. She'll start talking about her puppies or whatever else she can think of to show us she is not listening to what we are saying. It is sooo hard not to just fly off the handle sometimes. Is this is a toddler thing? She's pretty strong willed, but man.
So on a positive note, besides the little disregard for authority, life with Brooklyn is good. I love being home and spending time with her. Her new favorite thing to do is sing and we run through her top four (Popcorn Popping, Sunbeam, Wheels on the Bus, and Patty Cake) probably at least 10 times a day or more. She'll just request them and she does the actions and tries to sing. She makes me happy a lot more than she makes me mad.
Other than that nothing is new. Unless someone wants to give us a job up in Eagar! We'd be happy to have something like that to update about. Until then we will keep enjoying this heat and look forward to Fall if it even kicks in around here.

25 weeks
So I am now 25 weeks so I figured it was time I posted a belly shot, since I seem to think that rule applies to all other pregnant women except me! Everything is going great. The little boy is growing and kicking. Lucky for me I am pretty much symptomless after I pass that first trimester nausea. So I am feeling pretty good besides the occasional mood swings which Josh LOVES! All in all things are going good and passing fast. The second round, in my opinion, is so much easier than the first. Less anxiety and impatience. I kind of like it. I feel more like I can just enjoy being pregnant and not be fussing about what to expect with a new baby. I could not for the life of me take a serious picture that I wanted to share so this is all you get.

Back yard skinny dippin'
I looked out the window and this is what I saw.....
Luckily this diaper was clean because the puppies were having it for lunch...
Around the curtains I peeked and found the culprit. This deflated pool had just enough water from the sprinkler on it she figured she'd take a dip. Little turkey.

Me Time
I tend to go through crafting moments and this month has been one of them. I think the time to change seasons soon has made me excited about making new things. I know it's not really fall yet. But once school starts I always feel like it is so I put up all my fall decorations. I did at least wait until Labor Day this year, which is only three weeks from the official first day of Autumn. It's my house right so I can do what I want! So I made this orange sign that says "Happy Harvest" and while I was ordering vinyl decided to get a couple more things. I have all these empty cans from my food storage. So I decided to decorate them up and reuse them. It was a cheap fun project in case any of you need ideas for something to do with empty cans!
I also got this bench that Josh's brother was going to throw away. I had to beg Josh to let me bring it home. It looks better in the picture than in real life. It was pretty dinged up and had writing all over it and a couple holes in the back...oh and a drawer missing. So I sanded, painted and patched and put it in my living room. I really love it! You can't look too close, because the paint job is somewhat lacking in professional quality. But I think it turned out good and once again it was basically free. So I can never pass up something fun like that!
