My life in Pictures

Christmas came and went, we had a full house with our DS and his

partner, my dad and his wife + the usual residents of our house

Walli's first Christmas, the Christmas Tree was a great

source of entertainment for her

I've worked on my Confetti quilt

Confetti just needs the borders quilted, I'm just going 

to crosshatch them, I must say I did enjoy the

hand quilting process

Steam Punk, I have approx 15 blocks left to make

then I can start sewing it together

We've had cruise ships visiting

DH and Miss 15 packing up the trailer, I don't assist when

it comes to setting it up/packing it up. 

The resident alpaca's, one of these chased Miss 15 and I 

on our set up day, its a very stressful process

I love this place

1st day of the 2017 school year, Yr 10 for 2 and year 8

for my littlest one

Ive taken a break from stitching and picked up 

my crochet again, this is my Attic 24 Hexagon blanket 

which will eventually live in Bertha our Vintage caravan

its passed the sleep test

SOL progress, Im now 3/4 done

determination is his middle name

Im waiting for he post man to deliver this pattern

'Majestic Lanterns'

and these luscious yarns are also on their way

Bertha has a new permanent home, where we love to go

camping, dh has been working hard on getting her

ready for us to use, we taken out the double bed and

put a queensize bed in with storage underneath, he's fixed 

the small leaks, windows, fly screens, he's wired it up for 12vt.

We still need to get a new 12v/gas fridge, some lighting strips,

curtains and gather the supplies we need for a solid annex

but Bertha will be back in use by Easter. We can't wait

A Big Finish

I did it

I finished my version of Brinton Hall, 

I did make some changes in the 2nd border and again in the 7th border.

It's a beast of a quilt, measuring in at 94" square, 

it's all handpieced although I did machine sew the borders on 

and I machine sewed the square in a square blocks on the 7th border.

My next project has begun, another quilt with hundreds of hexagons 

that are 3/8" and 3/4"...........

Confetti by Irene Blanck, so far I've stitches all the small hexagon flowers and 

I'm working on the hexagons for the diamond border, 

I'm using 2 Tula Pink ranges, 

'True Colours' for the big hexies and 

'Eden' for all those itty bitty ones

3/8" hexies are so small

The finished flower is 2" across 

Saturday morning I had 4 centres left to stitch in

Today I made these teeny diamond shapes

and basted even more itty bitty hexies.

I am feeling the urge to work on Auntie Greens Garden again, 

I haven't touched it since March....... 

maybe I can work on both AG and Confetti,

Weekly Update 21/6

The last stitches were made on Green Tea and Sweet Beans

Ta Da in all its hand quilted glory

Binding is ready

I've made hexagons, 64 of them for my Amitie Mystery BOM

These girlies turned 14

Their cake, they loved it which is all that matters right

My new mug given to me by an absolutely gorgeous Quilty friend

I've finished 1 hexagon border, only 3 more to go.

The next 2 quilts to be basted, Friends for Christmas and my Scrap Vomit lap quilt

I had to use the boardroom table at the hubster work 

All prepped and ready for me start the hand quilting which will begin as soon as I've finished the binding on Green Tea and Sweet Beans. I'm not using pearle cotton this time, I've chosen to use a verigated brown Signature thread by YLI

Today (Tuesday) I'm taking Miss E and 2 others to referee a PSSA soccer game 1 hr away, the things we do for our kids, Miss E asked was I taking my sewing, I sure am I plan on finishing off Green Tea and Sweet Beans so I can start Friends for Christmas tonight, yay that she allows me to stitch while I watch. 

1 more week of school then it's holiday time, we are heading to Melbourne for a week and we are all looking forward to the break, that means 2 weekends of no soccer, I am so ready for a break from soccer, my feet and hips are so painful after an 8 hour day in the canteen. A hazard of getting older I think, and yes I'm old, the combined ages of my kids is 66 years and 3 months, now that makes me feel old. By the time Imogen finishes year 12 I will have been paying school fees, making lunches and going to parent teacher interviews for 27 years... Which is how old my son will be next year, that's just crazy.
