Monday Night Finish!

I finished Santa wants to Know last Monday. I really enjoyed stitching this and hope to finish as a cube once I have been into town on Tuesday for some fabric. Wish me luck it will be my first attempt at a cube finish.

Until next Monday, happy stitching

My Current Lizzie Kate

This is my current Lizzie Kate project.  With designating a day a week to work on this piece I should have it done soon. I am hoping to have it done so I can start on the SAL once the charts are in at The Attic.

Halloween Rules

The fabric that I ordered from 123stitch arrived last week, so I decided to pull the floss colors for the Halloween Rules SAL to see what they looked like.  I will be using a 28ct Autumn Fields Lugana with DMC floss.

As you can see I couldn't resist starting it!  I love it, really love it!  I'm having a very difficult time putting it down!  So I think I should officially open the SAL since I said it will begin in August and then I won't feel so bad stitching on this!

If you would like to join the SAL or have requested to join and don't see your name listed in the sidebar please email me again at apxstitch@gmail.com so I can add your name. The "official" designs are "Halloween Rules" and "12 Blessings of Christmas" but I know a couple of ladies have other large projects they would like to complete first so please feel free to share what you will be working on.

We will begin stitching and sharing our works on Friday August 5th and make Friday's our SAL days, although feel free to work on your projects as much as you would like :)

Happy Stitching,

Christmas in July

Evening all.... well it's evening in London :)

Thought i'd post Mondays stitching update on Merry Christmas By The Letter. As you can see I am soooooooo close to finishing this piece... I just can't stitch fast enough!!!!

Happy Stitching

My First Flat Fold

Hello All,

I have been MIA for a bit.  I used every spare moment I have to complete a time sensitive project and am almost done.  BUT, I managed to squeeze in a finish that I am very proud of.  My first flat fold.

Lizzie Kate "A Sister"

Please forgive the mess in the back ground.  I was so excited, that I would not wait to take the picture.  My poor table looks awful too (insert red cheeks here).  BUT I am really excited.  My next LK project will be a little pin keep that I am in desperate need of.  I will be using the freebie on the LK web site "Hello Spring".  I will be posting a pic of the supplies on my blog My New Perspective later this week.  You can also take a peek at that Anaconda in the back ground if you are interested.
I also want to mention that I was able to get this baby done with the help of Vonna at The Twisted Stitcher.  Her tutorials link is on her blog.  Lots of fun stuff to learn.  I will be making another "A Sister" flat fold and plan on trying out Angela's tutorial.  It has ribbons on the side and I am super excited.  So much to learn and so little time.

late update

Sorry I didn't up date last week so I have 2 pictures to show this week. One I finished last week and the other I finished this past Monday. I have been busy organizing my DMC floss the past week so I have not been doing much stitching. But I am almost done I am working on the 900's right now.

I am thinking that I will make these two into small pillows

I love the rainbow of colors

My Secret Garden (Edited)

I started a new Lizzie*Kate design…this is for my Mum’s birthday and she is an avid gardener, so I hope to get it done and finished as a cushion in time for her birthday early September.
SDC12152
Questions to answer:
It's a hand dyed fabric from Polstitches...it was given to me so I don't know the name of it I'm afraid. It's blues and lilac's mottled colours...very pretty.
I have used some of the recommended threads but did not have them all so have improvised on a  few too!

Mon 18th - Bloom

I'm a little bit late in posting this week's progress because I spent yesterday at a theme park with a good friend of mine. We had a blast!
So this week I stitched up the Bloom freebie. I really like these little designs and I'm going to finish as many as I can before moving onto bigger LK pieces.

I used mystery threads for the flowers and then The Gentle Art Sampler Thread Pink Azalea for the writing. I changed all of the colours from the original design, but I think that's what makes stitching freebies fun.
Hope you're all having a brilliant week,
Bekca

Monday stitching

I've managed to make some more progress on my Cat Lessons chart. Loving it. This is my first time at stitching on linen and I've noticed a little mistake in the orange box. I haven't decided if I will pull it out yet.

Looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress :)

Monday progress

Hi all - thanks for the warm welcome :)

I managed to spend some time on my Cat Lessons on Monday night. I really love these designs!

A Finish and a Start

I finished this earlier this week and framed it and
it is now hanging in my kitchen.

So this weekend I rounded up the stuff for my new start
which I decided was going to be

So Monday came around and I had 3 grandkids here
they had to go to swimming lessons in the morning
home for lunch and the little one needed a nap.
Then to the boys last Baseball game,
then supper for everyone and then company came
over for birthday cake. Who's birthday you ask?
It was mine not that I celebrate any more
(after 50 who keeps counting). Anyway back to
Stitching. I did get a little done last night and a little
this morning.
Happy Stitching everyone

An introduction

Hi there!

I'm new to this blog but a big fan of Lizzie Kate designs. I'm currently working on Cat Lessons but my wish list for LK designs is growing every day. I'm joining in the SAL and am planning to do the 12 blessings. I'm still trying to track down a copy of the charts - fingers crossed!

So a little about me. I'm from Brisbane, Australia. I'm a mum to 2 boys (12 and 2) and work full time. I've been stitching for a long time (off and on) and also dabble in scrapbooking.

Here is my latest progress shot on Cat Lessons. Please excuse the shadows - its a gorgeous day here today so I took it outside to photograph. With little people and a dog outside, I needed to be quick lol.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you are all working on and getting to know you a little better.

Shelley :)

My Monday Update

Sorry I'm a bit late in posting this, Summer vacation is here and the kids are keeping me busy!  I did do some stitching yesterday, not enough in my opinion but at least I got something done :)  I decided to work on my Green Flips during the day (32ct) and Cinderella at night (28ct).  I love, love, love 32 ct but at night with the lighting it makes it difficult to see the holes (an early sign of Macular Degeneration).

I also got distracted cleaning the bathroom (not fun) and doing some finishing for my Mom (this is one of her recent stitches) which I made into a flatfold.  I know it's not LK but I have to show it off anyways ;0)

Finally I won't be "in town" next Monday as we are on vacation!  Can't wait, I'm so excited :)  Please feel free to share your stitching next Monday.  I did pick out a new start to take along with me, I'd like to keep it a secret because it's another gift for my Stitching Sister!  Here is a little peek (Lesleyanne no looking), LOL!

Happy Stitching!

Christmas Freebie, Mon 4th

Hello all! This is the fruits of my labour on the first L*K stitching day that I took part in. I stitched the Peace Joy Love freebie with mystery threads and a green metallic thread leftover from a cover kit. I stitched it on 28ct Mushroom Jazlyn, my favourite fabric.

All the stitching was completed Monday and I finished it up as a felt ornament this morning. Apologies for its crooked state but I am a beginner when it comes to finishing.
I really enjoyed taking part in my first Monday Stitch-A-Long, bring on next week!

Monday July 4th update.

Thanks for letting me joining this group. I am stitching for first of many Lizzie Kate designs. I have been admiring them for a while and this blog is great. It is fun to see what other stitchers are stitching on. I enjoy checking out everyone's blogs and enjoy posting on my blog. Crossstitching is my way of relaxing after 8 hours of working. I stitched on my ABC's of Aging Artfully. It is started. I am doing it on Antique Ivory 16ct Aida. I love the colors and the wording is so true.
Happy stitching, looking forward to seeing everyone's progress this week.
