i thought this was worth sharing because it is also worth stealing. the idea of starting with an oval and putting something in the corner.

this one is especially nice because the oval picks up on the oval of the cantaloupe and that ties in with the oval of the pumpkin.

5 lucky people received an envelope similar to this in the october exchange.

i'm sure he erased the pencil lines. they were used to get the oval in the right place. he probably has some templates used in drafting. youngsters probably don't learn how to draft anymore. another wonderful activity lost to the world of computers.

i wonder if she had a set of those alphabets made out of sponges. they look like they are intended for children, but any children's toy is fair game. so pretty...and the hearts really make the whole envelope. one of my favorite design principles is *scale.* i like the mix of something over-sized with something tiny.

using small details from the stamp. it is not necessary to be too literal when decorating the name. eyeballs to not need to be in pairs.

no, the address does not have to go at the bottom. if you have all the information on horizontal lines in a landscape orientation, it will get to its destination. it might take a day or two longer. the idea to fill the envelope with horizontal lines of words came from the rows of names on the memorial.
