Exchange received and some pimping

Afbeelding
Wendy Jo finally received her birthday exchange I've sent her! Her birthday was January 12th, but the mailcompany took its time to deliver my package. This is what I've made Wendy Jo: Design: The Seasons - Bent Creek Fabric: 28 ct. Graziano linen Floss: DMC Finish: wall hanging I've made a wall hanging of the stitched piece, but Wendy Jo can easily make it into a cushion either! Here's the complete exchange I've sent: I wanted a new handbag, because I thought my current one was boring... But it was perfectly fine and I liked the size of it. So I decided to "pimp" it! First I dyed it black (it was grey/brown). After that I dived into my buttons, ribbons and other stuff, and sewed, glewed and ironed it on my bag. I'm really happy with the result! Hugs, Simone

Two HD's!

I had TWO Happy Dance's this weekend!!! On Saturday evening I finished the Christmas Row from Bent Creek. I really liked this design and it was a quick stitch! And it's for ME again :D I think I'm going to finish it into a long pillow. And the second Happy Dance was Sunday afternoon, when I've put the last stitches in the binding of my Sheep-quilt! DH spent the rest of the afternoon under the new blankie, taking a nap ;) I've made the quilt with all different kinds of red fabric from my favourite store Atelier Bep . And for the back I used all the leftovers! The quilt is now tumbling around in the washing machine, so keep your fingers crossed, that it comes out the way it went in... I have several Christmas exchanges to work on, so I started the first yesterday evening. I hope I can show something here in between. Hugs, Simone

Little box and lots of bobbins

DS is out playing with a friend, so I spend this afternoon, doing what I like ;) I made myself this little wooden box: Design: "Red Winged Blackbird" by Bent Creek Fabric: 32 ct. Belfast Linen, Solos from Silkweaver Floss: DMC Finish: Box top A placed a free ad on a website if someone has wooden bobbins left, they don't use anymore. I got only 1 response... ;) But the lady sent me a lot of bobbins! They came by mail today: I think they're great! I love to see all the different brands on it. I think I just started a new collection here... ;)

Framed!

Whoohoo! My "Red Thread" is already back from the framer!!! I'm so happy with the result! DH was so kind to put a screw in the wall of my toilet, right away. So now I'm enjoying it with every toilet-visit ;)

... to show you! Here's the little tin I've made as a returngift for Marlies, for the Crazyexchange. Marlies makes little woolfelt puppets, and this fairy looks a lot like them. And although I had the flew, I did manage to finish it this weekend. This is a close up of the last parts: And here is the total (which is hard to photograph, because it's so long!): Design: "Red Thread", Bent Creek Fabric: 32 ct. Zweigart Belfast linen "Vintage ecru" Floss: GAST, WDW and some DMC I'm bringing the Red Thread to my framer, and will hang it in my toilet when it's ready. Before I started to feel ill, I finished "It's not...

Hip Hop and more

Because of a rainy weekend I have a lot to show you ;) First of all I finished Bent Creek's Hip Hop and framed it this afternoon (unfortunatly the frame is a little to small): Design: Bent Creek "Hip Hop" Fabric: 32 ct. Dublin Linen Floss: DMC Finish: Framed I also finished the border of my "Rooie Bep" quilt, so now the top is finished. Have to pay Atelier Bep a visit to find a fabric for the back. And Sunday afternoon I've made this pillow cover. I've had the chicken fabric for a while, and now I finally got inspiration to make something of it! Yesterday I started stitching on Fanci That's Shaker Village. I really like that design! Not much to show yet...

Part 9 & 10 Red Thread

Afbeelding
Last week I've stitched part 9 and 10 of Bent Creek's Red Thread serie. I received the buttons for the border also, so I added them right away. I really like this project!!! Problem is that I have to wait untill the next parts come, to finish it... I allready saw them on the net, and I want them NOW!!! But, since I'm doing this as a monthly club, I have to be patient.... These two drawers are the last parts of the LNS that my great-aunt use to own, over 30 years ago.... Unfortunatly I was to young to remember it. She closes the shop down because she became ill. And since the shop was part of her house, everything of the shop was removed. My uncle had a part of the shop's cupboard in his garage and kept screws and such, in it (what a shame!!!). I heard that he was cleaning out, and asked him about the DMC-drawers, but I was already too late... These two drawers were the only one that could be saved :( So I cleaned them and now I use them for some of my floss stash. I rea...

Fob arrived and some finishes for my own

I read on the Hooked on exchanging blog that Rowyn has received my fob! This one really travels fast to New Zealand!!! Maybe I should wrap myself up and send me to NZ too ;))) Design: "Snowbound" from Bent Creek Fabric: 32 ct. Lugana "Khaki" from Sassy's Fabbies Floss: DMC Finish: Scissorfob We had a few days of very stormy and rainy weather (and today it's more like spring!), so I did some finishing. Most of it is for exchanges, so I can't show them yet... But, I also made some things for ME. The snowman is displayed in my kitchen and "little house in the woods" is in the toilet. It feels kind of good to make something for my own, for once ;) Design: Wee One "Little snowman in the drifts" from Heart in Hand Fabric: 32 ct. Lugana "Gray Flannel" from Sassy's Fabbies Floss: DMC Finish: Ornament Design: "little house in the woods" from Heart in Hand Fabric: 28 ct. Jobelan, Coffeedyed Floss: DMC Finish: Flatfold

Read Thread serie part 7

Yesterday I've finished part 7 of Bent Creek's Red Thread Snapper serie. This project is so much fun to stitch! This is what the total looks like, so far (I've finished the complete border, but it almost doesn't fit on a picture!): Next project will be this stitchingtray . I'm doing a SAL with this on the Dutch Borduurhoekje-group. Wishing you all a nice weekend full of stitches!

Part 5 of the Red Thread series

Yesterday I finished part 5 of the Red Thread serie from Bent Creek. Right in time because part 6 is already on it's way... I also finished the complete border. This is what the left half looks like. (it's too big to fit in one pic ;) )

Stitching update

I'm home for a few days now, since our vacation and I think it's about time I start blogging again! My father has painted our living-room during our vacation, so when we came home I had to clean everything, wash the curtains, re-arrange the furniture etc. So I think I need another vacation... ;) Before we left, I stitched a little on Victoria Samplers Christmas Village. You can see my progress here . Ofcourse I brought my stitchings with me to Italy, so I show you what I've done there. First of all this little house. A few weeks before our vacation I saw this blog , and decided it would be a perfect project to bring along! So I did... Design: http://www.leschroniquesdefrimousse.com/categorie-1249117.html Fabric: 28 ct. Quaker linen "Golden Tan" Floss: DMC I stitched my Harvest House for the SBEBB-exchange, but I can show it yet. Also have to decide how I gonna finish it. I also brought Bent Creek's Red Thread with me. But I ran out of floss so I couldn't...
