...somnis plus II. / ...plus dreams II.

Un any m'ha portat acabar aquest quilt. De fet, em vaig divertir molt amb el top però em vaig embolicar una mica al encoixinar i, tot i que el tenia en ment, sempre em venia més de gust començar una altra labor. Us passa això a vosaltres?

It took me more than a year to finish this quilt. Actually, it was fun to do the top but I got a bit messy with the quilting and, even I had it in mind all this time, I always wanted to do something else... Does this happen to you?

 

Volia encoixinar creu a creu però era una tortura girar la labor cada vegada, és força gran...

 

I wanted to quilt each one of the +, but it was very difficult to turn around in every corner, is too big... 

 

Total, al final n'he cosit moltes però no totes... simplement em vaig marejar de donar voltes... Ah! no ho recordava però hi ha més de 350 +!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the end I have done some but not all... I just got dizzy of turning around... Ohhhh!!!! I did not remember now but having a look at my post there are more than 350+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again, pictures are not as nice as the quilt... I am in love with this quilt!!!

...somnis d'aniversari./ ...anniversary dreams.

...la meva tieta Maria Clara (germana de la meva mare) aquest mes ha fet 70 anys i per celebrar-ho ens va convidar a dinar diumenge a tota la família. No tenia clar que regalar-li... que si uns coixins, una banderola de "Felicitats", una corona d'aniversari... Al final, me'n vaig anar a veure la Marta al TM i ho vaig veure clar! Li acabava d'arribar aquesta tela:

...my auntie Maria Clara (my mom sister) this month will celebrate her 70th anniversary and she took as all out for lunch on Sunday. I did not know what to do for her, maybe a pillow, maybe a garland... At the end, I went to TM and I realised what to do. Marta just received this fabric:

I juntament amb aquest Jelly Roll, Sentiments, molt apropiat per l'ocasió...
And with this Jelly Roll, Sentiments, which is perfect for the occasion...

El folre polar del darrera li dóna un suavitat i una dolçor que venen ganes d'embolicar-se amb tota ella. Es com la meva tieta, tot bondat i savoir faire! 

 

The polar fleece on the back gives a very soft touch that feels like wrapping up with the plaid. Is just as my auntie, all goodness and savoir faire!

 

 

Les teles del Jelly Roll les vaig cosir tal com venien, doncs la combinació de colors ja em va agradar.

I sew the Jelly Roll fabric just as it comes because I love the original combination.



 

 

Les fotos no li fan justícia doncs la manta va quedar impressionant. La meva tieta es va emocionar d'allò més. Maria Clara te queremos muchisimo, eres la mejor tía del mundo y una segunda madre para nosotros. Muchos besos y muchas felicidades!!!!

 

Pictures do not show the best out of it because it's really impressive. My aunt was extremely excited. Maria Clara, we love you so much, you are the best aunt in the world and a second mom for us. Lots of kisses and happy birthday!!!

...per fi el resultat del somni de Tardor que us ensenyava aquí.
...finally the result for the Autumn dream's that I was showing here.

No n'havia fet mai cap de ragged quilt i m'ha encantat. Sobretot m'ha agradat treballar amb aquestes teles tan suaus. Les vaig comprar aquest any a Sitges amb la idea de de fer precisament això un ragged quilt.
This is my first ragged quilt and I love it. Specially I loved to work with this fantastic fabric which I bought it in Sitges this year because I did have in mind to try one.

Les teles són comprades a Oyambre i com que inicialment em va quedar massa petit, vaig anar a la botiga de Barcelona a comprar-ne més fa uns dies i encara les tenen, per sort! No us les deixeu escapar!!!
I bought the fabrics at Oyamnbre and as I wanted to be bigger, I went to the Barcelona shop a few days ago and they still have the flannels, lucky me! Do not miss them, they are lovely!!!

...el temps no acompanya però jo us segueixo ensenyant projectes que he fet aquest estiu.
...ahir us ensenyava el cistell per anar a la platja i avui us presento un plaid de sofà que vaig fer a l'agost per si refresca a les nits mentre prenem un te a la terrassa. La veritat és que no l'hem fet servir perquè la calor no va afluixar ni a les nits però així el tenim.

...weather is not the most appropriate but I keep showing you my summer projects.
...yesterday I showed you a basket to go to the beach and today I want to present you a plaid that I did also in August for those nights when refreshes while we have a cup of tea in our terrace. Actually, we did not use it at all because we had a very hot summer. Oh well, we now have it ready for next year.

...ja tinc acabada el plaid de les matiuskas. He utilitzat alguns retalls que tenia per casa i el resultat ha quedat espectacular. Ara tinc un problema, no sé si m'agrada més per al davant:
...I finished the Matiuska's plaid. I used some scrap fabrics and the result is amazing. Now, I have a problem, I am not sure if I like better top:

No sé si recordareu que em vaig guardar una Matiuska perquè m'encantava. Alguna cosa havia de fer amb l'espai buit i m'ha semblat que aquesta era una bona idea:

May be you do remember that I kept one of the Matiuskas because I want to do something else... Well, I needed something to fill in the space and that is what it came out:

...avui anem una mica més lluny. Deixem els aires mediterranis per endinsar-nos al continent.

Aquest top ha sortit d'una de les caixetes que tenen al TM i no em canso de mirar-lo. Em moro de ganes de fer el sandwich i encoixinar.

This top came out from a small box from TM and was love at first sight. I can't wait to do the sandwich and quilt it.

Al centre en falta una doncs me l'he guardat per fer-ne un clauer.

In the center there is missing one because I keep one of the dolls to do a keyring.

...quants dies sense publicar i això que no he parat ni un minut, quan he tingut el minut doncs el mes de juny és complicat a tots nivells. Que si festivals de final de curs, festes d'aniversari, reunions colònies, etc.
...too many days without a post and I did not stop at all because June is a very busy month. End of school, birthday parties, meeting for summer camps, etc.

No m'he tret del cap aquest quilt des de que vaig comprar el llibre Seaside Home que ja fa uns dies vaig compara al TM. I aquí el teniu (de moment el top).
I coudn't get out of my head this quilt since I bought the book Seaside Home bought a few days ago at TM..  And here it is (only the top).

El vaixell i l'ocell estan fets amb paper-piecing. Que divertit!!!! (ara que no ens veu ningú... vaig mirar a YouTube alguna que altre tutorial doncs ja no recordava la tècnica... )
