I have a happy baby!

And we're almost completely over the sick phase! Now the runny nose is just every now and then. She's moved from sleeping in her car seat at night back to the crib! Woo! And out of our room! At night, even though she was swaddled, she would scoot her way out of the car seat and onto the floor! She's intense.

Anywho, I've been noticing the past couple days how smiley she's been! She has been so happy all of the time! Especially when she wakes up! We're complete opposites. When I wake up, I refuse to smile for at least three hours. But she is just so stinkin cute in the mornings!

Matt and Alivia have a morning routine that they love. Matt showers and gets dressed and that's when Livers usually wakes up. So Matt takes her downstairs and gets his breakfast and then they watch an episode of Little Einsteins together. By then I have accepted the fact that I have to wake up and they come upstairs and sing to me the newest song from the show. Today it was "I'm lost and I am looking for my mom and dad!" Ask Matt to sing it, he does it the best.

Anywho, here's what you've all been waiting for - the recent pics. I know how boring it is to read babble! But thanks for stickin with me.

(There's really no rhyme or reason for the pics - they're just the cuteness of late)

Here's Livy playing nice with Matt and the laptop. I love how interested she looks.

And here she's landed herself in jail by taking advantage of being able to touch the laptop.
I love these eyes.

Okay, so she started on the very left under those little play toys and here's where I found her after I had left for just 2 minutes! She can't walk or crawl, so she looks at a desired destination and finds a way to roll there! I love it.

She seems quite pleased.

Even though she's sleeping, I love how she's clutching onto her binky and the pen for dear life.
Oh sorry Livers, is this a bad time for a picture?

The highly anticipated election of 2008 is over!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to vote, but luckily the students of Mammoth Heights picked the right man for the job. I'm so excited for my little bro. who just became the president of his elementary school!

Apparently, I missed quite the show when he gave his speech today. He played the guitar and got the entire school to chant Kyler over and over! For any of you who have met Ky, that shouldn't sound the least bit surprising.

This is the same kid who, when he was 9, was Matt's best man and at our reception, in front of 200 people, got up and gave a lengthy toast which he ended by saying he'll probably be an uncle soon... Anyway, my mom will be posting the actual video of it soon which you'll be able to see here.
So what is his coolest duty as the new presidente??? He gets to broadcast the announcements to the school for all of Stonegate to hear!
HOORAY FOR UNCLE KY!!!

Alivia's first sick day...

Livy started to get a little stuffed up a couple days ago and last night her cold became unbearable. She couldn't breathe and so she kept waking up. This is her first time being really sick and it was rough for everyone involved. So today we took it easy and there was a lot of this:Then Alivia got a little too carried away with her medicine...I spent most of the day using that gross little blue snot sucker to suck everything out of her nose. She hated me for it. Every time I did it she would look at me with a face of complete disgust and betrayal! Also, the poor kid can't breathe while she eats! I hate it! We just rocked in the chair while she cried and then she'd finally give up and fall asleep. Sick days suck.

Quick BYU sidenote!!! Here's Matt and Livy watching another complete shut out for the second week in a row! 44-0! Woo!
Here's an interesting tidbit: the last time BYU had back-to-back shutouts was in 1985 (before I was born) and they had the exact same scores respectively!!! 59-0 and 44-0! Weird, right??? Weird and AWESOME.

Alivia's first photo shoot!

So my mom is in town this week and this morning she and Alexis decided to go get Alivia's picture taken. Alexis tells me that the girl taking the pictures was really awesome with Alivia and that Alivia was so photogenic that she only had to take like one picture in each pose. It turns out we have a freakin cute kid. Don't take my word for it though, the pictures prove it.

See what I mean?

Cutest Clothes & Funniest Faces

Matt's branch opened this week and Alivia and I decided to go have lunch with him! Here's Matt and Livers outside in the lobby area.
Here we are in the tiny break room.

She has cuter shoes than I do...
Here's another awesome outfit along with an awesome face.
Another cute pair of shoes that she immediately takes off just to spite me.

And, of course, I had to document the POOP FACE! No she's not about to cry - she's just concentrating and working really hard...

Here we are watching BYU slaughter UCLA. 59-0, Suckers! Here we have her little white trash outfit: a t-shirt and diaper. She loves watching BYU games with us.

My baby can do the worm!!!

...The inch-worm, that is. She scoots! It's crazy! She turned 5 months and then she started scooting! It's hilarious to watch. First, she digs her face into the ground. Then she straightens out her legs and puts her butt in the air. Then she kind of kicks off and throws her upper body forward/sideways! I love it! Hopefully, the wounded soldier crawl is next - that's one of my favorites as well. Also, she'll only do it on the bed because the poor kid bangs her head on the floor when she tries. She'll scoot all the way across the bed - it's so funny.

Here's a little video I caught of it - it's a teeny scoot, but it's so exciting!

I don't think I'm ready yet...

So Matt and I have had quite the adventure for the past week. After we went to Colorado, we agreed to babysit/housesit our sister-in-law, Donnie's, sister's four kids while her and her hubby went out of town to watch the BYU game. I went from having a 4-month old to having a 9-year-old, 8-year-old, 6-year-old, and a 2-year-old, plus Livers, of course.

Here's Livers with Caden. These were my two little buddies all day while the other kids were at school. At first, Caden wasn't a fan of sharing attention with Livers, but by the end of the week he would come lay by Alivia and chill with her - it was so cute.
So I learned a couple things during the 5 days that we watched these little ones:

1. I am not ready for toddler poop! Ew! I'm used to baby diarrhea that looks like mustard - but not actual poop! Luckily I have a little while longer before that happens! I had a little changing station set up in the house and spent the majority of the day there with these two.2. Tweens have attitude! Here's Brinley (9) and Casey (8). They were super sweet and helpful, but had their moments. Unfortunately, Alivia is only 5 months old and I can already tell she's going to have a lovely dose of attitude at an early age - payback for my parents, I guess.

3. If you leave a 2-year-old for even a SECOND - mayhem occurs!!! I would leave this kid in his high chair to go check on Livy and BAM!!! Peanut butter and jelly would be in his hair and on the floor! Also, 2-year-olds are flight risks! I had to make sure he hadn't escaped every time the door opened.
4. Matt and I have always said that we want a big family - but we're going to take it one kid at a time!
Also, Ben and Donnie brought the boys over while we were there so all of the cousins could play together. Their littlest one, Jake, is three months younger than Alivia, but is only smaller by like two pounds! It's crazy! We also tried to put him in the Bumbo, it looked hilarious. He's still mastering the whole head control thing...
Here's a couple other hilarious pics from that week...

Here we have Dumbo meets the Bumbo
Here we are loving our Oatmeal - she hates rice - she'll only eat the oatmeal.Laughing one minute......and then one second later...CRAZY!

Craziness in Colorado

So this first picture is a side note and then I'll get to our lovely weekend in Parker... Sometimes Alivia is playing on the ground and decides that she's super tired and here's what it looks like:So our little Labor Day getaway was filled with a lot of firsts for Livers. She got to meet some of her second cousins for the first time ever who had more fun with her toys than she did! The bumbo was a big hit among all. It was mainly used as some sort of helmet with the older kids. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of it. Then she went boating for the first time. It was pretty hilarious. Here are some awesome pics from the big event:

The life jacket was more for eating than for floating. Also, I'm not sure why it looks like Matt has a milk mustache.
Here's Matt and my aunt, Michelle, attempting to keep the littlest ones happy. Here I am chillin with my awesome little cousins. You can see me trying to convince my little cousin, Shayla, of two things: A) that I'm actually her cousin and B) that I'm married and I have a little kid. Later in the weekend, she told me about the dangers of drinking poison and blood. She's very informative.
Alivia was pooped after the first 20 minutes on the boat. Luckily, Matt found a way to keep them cool. What a happy family. As you can tell, Alivia was in charge of holding the flag up to inform other boats that someone was in the water. Here's Livers playin with Grandma while making one of the best faces ever. Apparently, Grandma has wronged this poor girl.Gettin in some play time with Grandpa.
Here's Alivia taking a bath in the sink...
...And here's the crowd that gathered around to watch the spectacle.Since Drew's been gone, Ky has been without an older brother to beat the crap out of him. So Matt stepped in and immediately rectified the problem by giving him this gross bruise with a toy light saber...Here's Matt teaching the kiddlies how to juggle.I have a picture of Shayla giving Matt a kiss on the cheek on the Fourth of July in 2007. Here they are a year later, stronger than ever.Young and old, everyone's a fan of Little Einsteins!
"I am a cello, and I am looking for my mommy!"
