PWEs tend to come in bunches. Nothing for awhile, then Bam! Two in the span of two days. I love it.
First off, Oscar from All Trade Bait All The Time was kind enough to send one. I made a comment about a cool Brooks Robinson card he showed off, and Oscar, being the generous dude he is, sent me my own copy. Crazy! I never make comments like that thinking the card will end up with me, but nice people like Oscar go above and beyond.
And it is cool, right? There's just something about little Brooks with no one near him, committing robbery. Oscar filled the rest with some Yanks, including two personal favorites.
Next up, Chris from The Collector busted some serious Heritage, and set aside a few Yanks for me. I have to take inventory, but I must be close to the complete Yanks set, minus the SPs.
There was also a cool Jeter I didn't have.
Gentlemen, thanks for the PWEs. Much appreciated!
I collected baseball cards from the late '80s through 2002. Then I went to college and when I came out, I was lost. There were too many brands, sets, choices, relics, autos, parallels, variations. It was a turn off. However, I slowly made my way back. So here is my attempt to venture back into the hobby. I'll buy a few packs of cards here and there, comment on some cards I have, send out some TTMs, and follow the progress of my Topps Yankees Project.

TTM Success: Brooks Robinson
Yesterday, during my post-work commute, I had the thought that I really wanted to return home to a TTM success. I have a lot of spring training requests out, and I've been hoping that a few early ones trickle in.
I did in fact get a success, but it wasn't from spring training. No, sir. Just a Hall of Famer and one of the best 3B to ever play the game:
Mr. Robinson was kind enough to sign my card. I included a $5 fee, which he kept. No issues at all with handing over a $5 bill for an auto like this.
It looks great. I'm thrilled to add another HOF autograph to my collection.

My Best Son Collects HOFers from My Best Friend Collects Chipper Jones
A couple of weeks ago, Mark from My Best Friend Collects Chipper Jones said that he’d like to send a few cards for my son’s Hall of Fame
collection. For those who don’t know, I started acquiring a few Hall of Fame
cards to place in a binder for my son, who is currently four. Several of you
have sent him a bunch of great cards out of the kindness of your hearts. Even
in trade packages, there will often be a team bag with a post-it that says “For
Joey.” Rest assured, each card that comes his way goes directly into his
binder.
I haven’t had the fortune of trading with Mark yet, but he
kindly reached out and sent a batch. These were very generous. This was the
card that really caught my attention:
Vibrant! Man, what a sweet Gibson. Not far behind was this:
That’s a damn solid entry into the binder.
Here is the rest of shipment one. That Gaylord Perry is um…interesting.
I said “shipment one” above because about a week later, Mark
sent another awesome batch, headed by Hammerin’ Hank and Rod Carew.
I definitely did not have a Bunning for Joey either, so that’s
cool. I love the mix of vintage and some newer cards. That George Brett Now
& Then is really neat too. I feel like we need a modern day version of this
set.
Mark, thanks so much for your generosity. It really is
appreciated!

1968 Topps Game = DONE
I'm going to do a "Joys of a Completed Set" post, but this is just a quick post to showcase the final two cards in my quest for the 1968 Topps Game set. I got these two for under $4 shipped on SportLots.
