Never say never!

Ialways said I would never get my little girls' ears pierced but I did! And I think they are sooooo cute! Reese was sooo brave, not even one tear was shed, Charlee on the other hand might not have liked it so much! Oh well, they are so cute, Bret is less than thrilled, but he just doesn't want them growing up so fast.

Reese right beforehand, looking a little bit scared and scary.
a little apprehensive but not tears!
Charlee, has no idea what she is about to go through
and major tears! But she stopped just a minute after.

Christmas Friends

We are so lucky to have such good friends around us. We had a Christmas dinner with the Bunkers and we love them so much. We had yummy soup and salad and then decorated Christmas cookies. It was awesome. I love their kids like my own and I especially love Kai because he is such a good sport even though I don't have any boys. Sorry Kai! :) Maybe Kai might like that I have such cute girls in ten years or so :) haha!

When I grow up..

When I was little, I really just wanted to be a mom, truly it is what I wanted to be. I wrote an essay on it in my sophomore class and I was the only one. Today Reese was talking in the car on the way home from pre-school and she said they talked about what they want to be and she said this, "I want to grow up to be a mom." only to follow it up with this little gem, "when i am a mom, i want to be just like you, mama." I mean, seriously. I love this little girl.

She is mine, and so much of me, sometimes it is like looking in the mirror. But just better,

She says the funniest things and seriously makes me bust up laughing everyday. Like whenever I am getting impatient with her and I am asking her to get ready for bed, or for a nap and she is moving slow I start counting backwards from 5 and she looks at me and says, don't say 1, don't say 1. I seriously want to laugh but its really not funny.

She thinks that she is so grown up and I can't really fool her either, she feels on my same level and that is great and terrible at the same time, it makes disciplining a little difficult. At least I don't have to do it too much.

eyebrows

we are back from our annual trip to utah for thanksgiving. it was fun, we still were not able to avoid the "Thanksgiving curse" of getting sick. Without fail we all get sick over turkey day. Seriously! But I took NO pictures I only have one of my sister-in-laws and I. I love them and I wish they lived closer. It is so fun to have a great family and I love them all.

On another note, I got my eyebrows done today and let me tell you, when I discovered my eyebrow lady, it was immediate love. I get them tinted and waxed and I love it. I do it once a month and I do not know how I went without this beforehand! Seriously changes my whole look, for the better.

don't mind the iphone pic of the wonderful eyebrows, i love them.

Market Research and text book

This morning I went to do a market research focus group for my car. I love my car, its a Chrysler Town and Country. I love that its a Van, I know people aren't van people but I love it.

I swear if I could do focus groups all day long, seriously I would be a rich lady. They paid me $250 to talk in a group about my opinions and show them my car and go in different cars and tell them if I like them or not. Seriously. I actually had a lot of fun.

Now I am in love with the Ford Flex, seriously an awesome car. I wish that I had it, but don't tell me van, she might get her feelings hurt!

Funny story, the guy looking through my car and asking me about the features that I liked saw my children's primary song cds and said, "oh I see you got your primary songs."
I said, "Are you LDS?" he said yes, and that he was from the Detroit area.

Then he said, "When I was watching the tape, (we were filmed and recorded in a separate room from the researchers) I knew that you were LDS and I grabbed your file first so I could confirm."
Then I said, "What made you so sure??"
To which he said, "Oh with your answers, and how you look, you were text book Mormon, southern california girl.?"

What? I wasn't offended but when I asked him what he meant, he couldn't give me a good answer except that I was just "text book."

Thinking about it, I was not offended I was happy, happy that maybe a little bit of the light of Christ was shining through?? Maybe?

Or maybe it was the fact that I am 24, driving a mini-van with two children???

What do you think?

This one is for Chels and my mom!

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles" -Audrey Hepburn

I love this quote, a friend of mine had this on her Facebook today and it made my day and made me think of Chelsea because she loves a good quote! Have a happy friday!

Wanna be really happy? Check this out, such a cute adoption story. I thought of my mom and dad her three angel babies. And I love adoption so so much. Go here and watch the video it is AWESOME!

The Blind Side

Have you seen the previews for this movie. I honestly no kidding have seen the trailer, three times and I have cried every SINGLE time! No kidding. It reminds me of my mom and dad. Having three siblings who are bi-racial and don't look like us, it just makes me happy to see this movie. Sandra Bullock's character reminds me of my mom, my mom would fight for the right and do something like this. I am getting teary just writing this. Most people are excited for New Moon and don't get me wrong, I am too, but I am really really really excited for this movie.

All Hallow's Eve

Charlee was asleep in like two minutes.

Such a fun night, we went to my parents' neighborhood and had a neighborhood potluck and then just walked around with our little family. It was great and Reese was really good and polite and such a cute little fifties girl. Charlee was a trooper, her bedtime is around 7 or so and she hung in there.

P.S. does anyone know why my pictures look so grainy? How do you get them big and not grainy? I am blog illiterate!

flashback to the 50's

Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong decade? sometimes I wish I was born in the 50s, the clothes, the music, the glamor. but then I think about the time I am in now and it is amazing and wonderful, however I do love dressing the part. For Halloween we were a 50s family. We had to tell Reese she was a 50s "princess" so she would be content, but all she cared about was the swishy, twirly skirt and her heart was doing the jive.

My little poodle skirt gals. Thanks mom for Charlee's
Gorgeous little girl (heartbreaker in the making! :) )
all the girlies
Us with our Daddy-O! He would've made an awesome greaser. He is so "rebel without a cause." Actually he is more "leave it to beaver," but I like 'em steady eddy! :)

My BFF

(Ignore the puffy face I was six months prego!)

Bret constantly makes fun of me because I have a million best friends. He says that you can't have more than one favorite, because then that thing is not your favorite! I beg to differ. I have so many friends that I have that I will always consider a BFF because that's just how I roll! I am super passionate about things and one of those things happen to be people that I love, and I love a lot.

My BFF that I met in the dorms freshman year, Melissa DeMaso, (also the namesake of my 2nd child Charlotte MELISSA) started a blog and its fab. Even if you don't know her, you have to check it out, she's funny, witty, sassy and a gorgeous redhead!! Seriously you'll love it. She's got good stories and is a really talented photog, actually there is really nothing she doesn't do EXTREMELY well, its kind of nauseating!

She's super busy with her crazy, fun, exciting and awesome life in SLC and I love that she started a blog so I can catch up to all her awesomeness through pics and stories.

Just check it out here:

time out

Bret and I were talking about what we like to do when we take "time out" basically letting off steam and relaxing.

Over the weekend Bret said he needed to just relax because he had a crazy week, he was in Boston and it was super busy for him.

What does he do to de stress?
Watch sports/sleep/do nothing (completely deserved by the way!)

When some people need to rest/de-stress they might...

1.eat
2.rest
3.exercise
4.craft
5.read

any number of things

I go online window shopping

This is how it goes

Go to a fabulous online store, anthro, jcrew (jenna lyons I love you, we would be BFFs), nordstrom, shopbop and then I add everything I could possibly want into my cart. This weekend I went to JCrew and spendt $405.63 in imaginary money, and $316.87 in imaginary money at anthro.

When I told Bret this he said that I was crazy and I am the only one who does this. Please tell me I am not and that I am not crazy! Thank you.

Barefoot

I love Barefoot Contessa. She is so vivacious and her keen knack for making such yummy foods out of delicious simple ingredients. My favorite is how she is with her husband. She is just a wonderful wonderful wife. She always makes him yummy meals and is just so cute and so so so creative. My favorite episode is where she reminisces about their trip to Paris when they were first married and they stayed in a little red tent and they had a little stove and they cooked all of their meals and they recreated that with their little tent and the stove. It was just adorable. I love her. It makes me want to cook lots of yummy food and stay at home, too bad I am so busy.
