Tea Parties, Tomatoes and Tess

Yesterday it was just the girls and me for the majority of the day, Bret has his last CPA exam tomorrow (say your prayers that he will pass! I know he will do great!) so he is busy studying. I called my mom and she said she would have a tea party for us. She and Faye were wonderful hostesses. We had little sandwiches, salad, punch and cake. Delicious!


We have a small garden and by small I mean, struggling to survive. Yet even out of some neglect, our little garden gave us a few yummy tomatoes. Bret and Reese made dinner this week and included them in the meal. On the menu, chicken salad sandwiches.

Tess, she is an Angel baby. That is what my mom calls her. She is such a fun girl, everyone likes her and she is always a friend to everyone. She is gorgeous. I just went today to go hear her give a talk in sacrament meeting and really she is just getting so old and mature and I love her. She is beautiful inside and out. She starts high school next week and I just want her to know that it is a fun time, and important to make the kind of choices that you will be proud of looking back and most of all to treat everyone with charity. She is such a blessing in my life. Love you Tessie

Charlee is now six months old. She is a cute little pumpkin head. We love all of her rolls!

Shes off the charts. I could have told them that! She is such a joy, just makes me smile constantly. She is becoming quite a binky girl. Reese never took one, but it isn't so bad, I just give it to her and she goes right to sleep. Kind of nice actually. I love Charlee and watching her with Reese is great.

Several times a day, Reese will tell Charlee that they are "best friends!" I love it because they will be, there is nothing like a sister! It is so so so great.

Falling for....

Fall is gorgeous, I love it, in Southern California we get teases of fall, but real fall doesn't really come until October, sometimes even November, but I love where I live so I'll wait for it. Can't wait for college football! I love back to school, I love back to school shopping. I always remember it was soooo much fun to go back to school shopping with my mom, we'd make it a day and go to South Coast Plaza, cuz that was the closest Nordstrom, and we would pick out new clothes, and I wasn't allowed to wear them until the first day of school. Seriously, it was awesome. Now that I am not in school, and am low on cash I don't have that same experience, So I decided to shop my own closet, try it, its really fun! I used some inspiration that I found online and tried to create the outfits that I saw with things that I already own. It was fun! I seriously just tried things on and spent an hour going through my closet discovering things I already have. I found inspiration here,

Also I found a new mascara, even cheaper than my other find. You can only buy it at walmart, however it is awesome! Max Factor 2000 Calorie in black, seriously awesome. I normally run away from anything that says 2000 calories, however, this is legit. The original, not the new one that they just brought out, not as good. As usual the original is better!

At walmart it is $5.39, can't beat that my friends!!!!

I have a secret, I love to write poems, I am not very good, but Bret is my muse. 5 years with the most wonderful man does things to you. I wrote that for him and it is my dream to always be "young and in love," to no matter what still have that "young and in love" feeling. It is no secret that I love Bret, I am so passionate about how awesome he is. I love him and when we got married I was really young as well as in love, but it just gets better. I can't say anything about our 5 years together but that I love it. "Here's looking at you kid...." I love you

Weekend Getaway

We had so much fun on our weekend away. Friday night we went to Taleo Grill, so good, then out to see Harry Potter. Then we woke up on Saturday and we went drove up to Pasadena to fulfill a lifelong dream, we went and saw the Father of the Bride house, it was gorgeous, I want to live in that neighborhood, I just don't think that I could handle the traffic! It is CRAZY! After that we went to the farmer's market in LA and went to the Loteria, that is so so so good. Very authentic mexican. Then we went to our hotel. We stayed at the marriott residence inn in Beverly Hills and it was really nice. Then we went out to a nice dinner at Koi. I love that place, I've been there once before and it is sooo good! Then when we were done we walked around the temple. We just had the best time! I loved it. Thanks mom and dad for watching our girls. We had a fun time! But we didn't that too many pictures, we were just too busy having fun!

Since we were there with my incredibly talented sister, I had her take pictures of our family. I think that I might use them for christmas pictures, even though that is far away, I just do not want to deal with taking anymore pictures. Plus these turned out amazing! I didn't post my favorite favorites, I gotta save those for later!

We had more fun than you can imagine. the pictures are in no particular order. I highly recommend the outterbanks. Everyone needs to go at least once!

We entered the family volleyball tourney and I am cracking up because we were horrible, even though my sister is a division 1 vball player, she plays for BYU, we sucked!

we are home....

driving home last night i was excited to be home, but seriously so sad to be coming back to reality and coming back from one of my favorite places on the planet. i miss the outterbanks already! i never get to see those cousins and they are so much fun, i love them all. there are more pictures than i could ever post so i will have to whittle them down. my sister always makes an amazing slideshow at the end of the week for us all to watch and i might have silently cried when it was over. i now have to wait 723 more days for the next trip! (we do it every other year) so until then OBX, i love you!
