This year Topps actually release a checklist for this set.  In previous years we were left to guess who was in the set and how many parallels.  Ahem.  Robin has cards to be found, although not many so good luck.  I will say past releases have looked incredible, the patch auto cards are pretty phenomenal. I'll post images when this stuff starts showing up.

2003 Topps Tribute World Series Edition - Team Tribute Dual Relic with Paul Molitor

Year: 2003
Manufacturer: Topps
Set: Tribute World Series Edition
Card Number: TTR-YM
Card Type: Insert, Relic
Insert Set: Team Tribute Dual Player Relic
Relic Type: Bat, Jersey
Card Attributes: Piece of Authentic, Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 124/275

Let's take a time machine back to 2003 when Tribute was still pretty new, parallel were few and Hall of Fame relics were everywhere.  Apologies for the crappy scan. I'm sure this relic is in a screwdown holder when I scanned it.  A great dual relic from arguably the two best Brewers of all-time.  The World Series Edition has some fantastic relics and autographs in the set.  Plus I love the old style serial numbering.  So huge.  I also love that this card clearly states that the relics in the card are game used.

2005 Upper Deck Classics - Classics Counterparts Dual Relic

Year: 2005
Manufacturer: Upper Deck
Set:  Classics
Card Number: CC-MY
Card Type: Insert Relic
Insert Set: Classic Counterparts Materials
Card Attributes: Piece of Authentic
Relic Type: Jersey
Note: Dual relic with Paul Molitor

Going back to the time of plenty.  I really like this insert set. Of course what's not to love about a card featuring two Brewers legends?  And of course it's a dual relic.  The Counterparts insert set consists of a base card numbered to 1999, this relic version, and an autographed version.  Relic and autograph cards are not numbered. Robin and Paul both have base cards in the set, as well as, being featured in other insert sets.

2005 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia Team Tandems Spectrum

Year: 2005
Manufacturer: Playoff
Card Set: Absolute Memorabilia
Card Number: TT-11
Card Type: Insert Parallel
Insert Set: Team Tandems
Parallel: Spectrum
Card Attributes: Serial Numbered
Serial Number: 135/150

2005 the year of the Yount! The Trading Card Database lists of 1000 cards for Robin that year, 1011 to be exact.  Beckett.com lists 1020.  I'm curious which ones are missing from the database?

Anywho, 2005 marked the zenith of inserts, parallel cards and insert parallel cards.  Seriously even by todays standards it was a little insane.  Upper Deck and Donruss went back and forth trying to one up each other with the number of variations and parallels sets would contain. In this set alone Robin has almost 100 cards to chase.  That's pretty insane.

I like this Team Tandem set not because I like the look of the card or the layout, which was designed with the relic versions in mind.  But I love the fact that this card includes my two favorite Brewers of all time.  Anytime I get a card that has both Molly and the Kid together it's a great card.  Factor in that the base card from this insert set is numbered to just 250 and the chase is one.  This card is the Spectrum parallel which is very shiny.

2005 Leaf Cornerstones

Year: 2005
Manufacturer: Donruss
Set: Leaf Baseball
Card Number: C-19
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Cornerstones

There's nothing I like better than a card that has my two favorite Brewers of all time on it.  Over the years Robin has shared cardboard with lots of different players, both Brewers and non-Brewers alike.  But I have to say the cards he shares with Molly are the best.  Like all sets from Donruss in 2005 this set has a lot of inserts and a lot of parallels.  Cornerstones also had relic versions, but Robin and Paul aren't featured in any of those parallels.  All we get is this shiny base card.

2016 Topps Series 1 Back to Back insert

Year: 2016
Manufacturer: Topps
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Back to Back
Card Number: B2B-8

I was pretty excited to see Robin featured in a few of this year's Topps Series 1 inserts and get the auto and relic treatment, even though I doubt I'll ever own those cards.  But I knew the base inserts would be finding a home in the collection.  I was also curious about the Back to Back insert.  Topps hadn't released any preview images of the set and I always like the Donruss/Panini Back to Back Jacks insert.  I guess the set featured players that were Back to Back in the batting line up and back to back homers as well, at least that what Robin and Paul card commemorates.  I like the idea of the set, but to be honest the graphic just confuses and kind of scares me.   I think it could have been done much better, but in the end I'm still happy to have a card to add to my Yount collection and I always love cards that Robin shares with my second favorite Brewer.

2015 Panini Cooperstown Dual Etched in Cooperstown

Year: 2015
Manufacturer: Panini
Set: Cooperstown
Card Number: 11
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Etched in Cooperstown Dual

I got this card from the same seller that I got Robin's solo Etched in Cooperstown card.  Hard to pass up that combined shipping and the fact that they had two cards I wanted and needed for my collection.

This is a great card of Milwaukee's only HOF representatives.  The scan sucks I'm sorry these super shiney cards just don't scan well, but do look very nice in hand.  This set also features multiple color and gem parallels.  This is not the first time Robin's shared a cards with Molly, but I would think it would happen more often then it does.

2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites Best Seat in the House Seat Relic with Paul Molitor and Rollie Fingers

Card Manufactuer: Topps
Year: 2003
Card Set: All-Time Fan Favorites
Card Number: BS4
Card Type: Insert
Insert Set: Best Seat in the House Relics
Card Attributes: County Stadium Seat Relic

This year Major League Baseball ran a Franchise Four promotion that asked fans who are the four players that define your franchise.  The results won't be revealed till the All-Star Game, but while scanning cards I came across this gem in my collection and it pretty much summed up who my Franchise Three would be.  It's a toss up for the fourth spot, but without a doubt my one, two, three.  Yount, Molly, and Rollie in that order.  I love these odd relics.  Seat relics aren't new, but it beats the old bat or jersey relic.

Maxwell House Coffee Mug

Manufacturer: Maxwell House
Set: Maxwell House Mugs
Year: ???
Type: Stadium Giveaway

I featured this one back in November 2012 as part of my Yount drinkware post. You can find it HERE.
I'm sure I'll feature each one of those again here separately.  But I've never been able to find much out about this mug. There is no date anywhere on the mug. On the bottom it's stamped with the maker, Eagle, and a Made in the USA, but other than that it was a total mystery.  I even asked the guru of all things sportscards, Bob Lemke, if he knew anything about them, he didn't.  So now it's time to put on my deerstalker cap and channel my inner Sherlock Holmes as I play the Yount Detective.
First lets have a look at the mug. Notice the clear handle, that's a clue.

After doing some research on the interwebs and combing threw ebay auctions and other sports related sites. I really couldn't find any good information on the origin of these mugs. But I did discover a few things. One there were two types of mugs. Ones with clear handles like Robin's here and one's with white rounded handles like this one..
featuring Gorman Thomas.  That's a clue.
Some of the mugs feature the 94 FM WKTI Logo on them. WKTI was a local Milwaukee radio station.. WKTI stopped using that call sign in 2008, but used the WKTI and WKTI-FM from 1974 to 2008...Ah.
But not all the mugs feature the logo, but both the clear plastic and white handles have some players that feature the logo.  Yount's does not feature it and I could find no version that does.

When I first got the Yount mug I had thought that these were possibly send away items you could get from Maxwell House, but the more I looked into it, it now appears that these were more likely stadium giveaways. Unfortunately I can't find any information on past giveaways from the 80's.

Searching the web I found the other players featured on both kinds of mugs.

The white handle mugs
- Manager George Bamburger -WKTI
-Gorman Thomas
-Rollie Fingers
-Brewers Logo

The clear plastic handles
- Robin Yount
-Paul Molitor
-Cecil Cooper - WKTI
-Jim Gantner - WKTI
-Dan Plesac

There might be a few others I missed, but these are the versions I could find.  From these people we can narrow down possible years.  First we have to assume that players that were featured were current or at least recent team members. If we do that we can place the first four mugs, the white handled mugs in the 1985 to 1986 realm. And I'm leaning on 1986. First George Bamburger was manager from 1985 to very close to the end of the 1986 season. Gorman Thomas came back to the Brewers in 1986 for his final year and while Rollie retired in 1985 I think that his mug might just be a carry over or a tribute.

The clear plastic handle mugs look to be about from 1987 or 1988 and I'm leaning on 1987 for a couple reasons. One, in 1987 everyone featured was on the team. 1987 was Dan Plesac's rookie year with the team and it was also Cecil Coopers last year. Two, it would seem plausible that the mugs were a continuation giveaway from the year before if the white handle mugs were from 1986.

Of course it's very possible that mugs were given out over multiple years.  And while I'd like to say that these were definitely stadium giveaways from the late 80's I just don't know. If anyone from the Milwaukee area remembers these and knows anything about them I'd love to know. Leave a comment or drop me an email.
